 + -1 moreTheir quote was way too high so I did not use them. They said they were going to come out, but right before they were scheduled to come they called and gave me an estimate on the phone. It seemed like they really did not want to come and I don't think their estimate was based on anything we had. The estimate was free.
Description of Work: I got a quote from Random Woodworks to build a banquette or a bench for around our kitchen table.

Description of Work: Random Woodworks is a high-end furniture-making establishment. So if you require something relatively "simple," you are paying a great deal of money for a product that you could get much cheaper elsewhere.

 + 1 moreEverything went just fine. Luke visited several times to make sure the cabinet design met my approval. The cabinet was made on schedule and delivered to my house. Great communication.
Description of Work: Random Woodworks built a custom base for my entertainment center. This involved matching the design of the entertainment cabinets presently in my house. The cabinet that was made was constructed excellently. It consisted of many fine details such as inlays, and rosettes, which are difficult to do. Overall the craftsmanship was of the highest quality.

 + -1 moreLuke made a custom made chair to fit my father who is 6'6." The chair was made with white oak and custom designed to fit my dad's height and physical limitations. In order to do that, he had to design a chair that was higher than the average chair in both the seat and the arms. In addition, he widened the seat dimensions to ensure that the chair would be stable. He created blueprints for a chair and he sent them to me for review prior to agreeing to the project. He kept in touch with me throughout the project via email and phone and welcomed me to visit his shop so that I could see it in process. When it came time to stain the chair, he stopped down at my home to make sure that I liked the stain he was choosing for this particular wood. The chair is beautiful with detail added to the back slats and a leather seat. We couldn't be happier!

 + 0 moreGreat. we received the custom piece and still haven't received our store bought furniture that was ordered months earlier.
Description of Work: I needed an entertainment piece to house a rather large surround sound speaker and DVD player. We had recently ordered new furniture for the room and wanted it to coordinate. It also was to be placed under a wall mounted TV so the aesthetic was important. We left the design up to Luke. The piece is beautiful and perfectly apportioned to the contents and the space.
