Giroud Tree & Lawn Care

From the morning that I first emailed Giroud, I found this to be a very professional company. The secretary answered my email by phone no more than hour after I sent it. She was pleasant and so were the man who came to do the estimate and the crew leader who eventually supervised the work. Yesterday, the day of the service, went without a hitch. Doug, the crew leader, reviewed the estimate details with me. Then he and two other employees completed the work in about two and a half hours. The clean up was thorough. All work was done according to the estimate. Giroud gave me $50 off as an Angie's List customer.

These guys are amazing! Unfortunately I forgot their names, but the two gentlemen got right to work and tamed my out of control cherry tree in about an hour in the rain. It looks great and I will be using them for all the tree services that I can't do myself.

They didn't adequately prepare me, I live in the city and the person who organized it didn't tell me I needed to block off 4-5 parking spaces before the trees were cut down. So, the first day they couldn't come out because there wasn't enough parking. We figured it out the second day but he should have told me that. The second thing I wasn't happy about is that they left the yard messy, I get that they were huge trees 2 stories high but they made a mess. I had to call them back and I shouldn't have had to do that. Everything turned out fine, but it should have been an automatic they call me back to tell me they were coming back.

The work was done very well. The people they sent out were very professional. They did an excellent job. Our only complaint was that they were tardy coming out; they were nowhere near the date they told us. We got a call later saying they would be out in 1 1/2 weeks. A month later they still weren't here so we actually had to call to find out what was going on. They need to communicate better with their clients. Other than that we had no problems. The work was excellent and the crew they sent out was excellent. They did everything in a timely manner. Customer contact and customer relations could use some improvement. We were very happy with everything except for the delay in the work. We would use them again.

My original post wasn't positive because the company didn't respond to my query. 2 weeks ago I took a voice mail from Giroud Tree Service apologizing for not gutting back to me and wanting to know if I still needed help. Surprised to hear from them I called them back I told them I didn't hear from them so I went to another service but wondered if there was a communication issue with Angie's List. The lady was very nice and apologetic and stated that they never got the message. That afternoon, I took a call from Mr.Giroud - who was on vacation. I have to tell you he was very unhappy the lack of response to me even though his team never got the message from Angie's List. He was sincere and I believe him. Frankly, I was originally surprised that I hadnt heard from them after reading the reviews - they didn't match. When the staff was alerted, they apologized and called the owner who called me (from vacation) who apologized and gave me a coupon for some future work (which I didn't ask for). Hey, I run operations for a company and things break or don't always go as expected. I measure character not by whether things are perfect, but by what folks do when they aren't. I am very impressed with the responsiveness of Giroud Tree Service. This is consistent with the rest of their reviews and on their actions, I'd recommend them Michael

They were prompt and professional and gave me a written estimate right on the spot. The evaluation was complimentary, but I did not go through with the work because they were pretty expensive. I would have considered using them if it weren’t for the price.

The people that are sent from Giroud Tree & Lawn Care Company are arborists so they know all about trees. They don’t just come out and chop the tress. They do it in a very systematic manner. They do a really good job with trimming. They take care to restore the shape and health of the trees while trimming. They are very respectful of my property. They do an excellent job overall. II think I get what I pay for. I would use them again in the future. I would also recommend them.

I hired them for a 5 step lawn care service. they said they would show up the following week. no one showed up or called the week they were to start. I figured they were busy so I waited till Friday and called to find out when they were going to show. I was advised that someone would call back. I called again later in the day and again was told someone would call back. Again no one called. I called and cancelled the service. I was contacted by the owner, Mr. Lou Giroud, and he apologized for the lack of response by his people. He offered to remedy the error by giving me a discount on future lawn service. I applaud his concern and follow up to correct a mistake. the lawn treatment has been completed for the summer and my lawn has never looked better. I will be continuing with his service next year.

Very good people & will use them again.

I’ve used them many times and they always do very good work. They come when they say they are going to come. The people that work for them are very friendly. The people are very easy to interact with. They are thorough. I would use their services again in the future.

The people from Giroud Tree & Lawn Care are friendly and happy to talk to me. They address my concerns with regards to the lawn or with regards to what they do. They explain what they do and why they do it. They are happy not to do certain things if I ask them not to do. I have a pond in the lawn and they need to adjust the normal procedure to work around it. They use organic stuff around the pond and they spot treat if something comes up. They spray the stuff on rest of the lawn and walk around with the spot treaters to see any if there is anything for which they cannot use the normal method. When it rains, I just have to remind them and they will stay at a distance from the pond. They are very responsive and they come on time. They are willing to adjust their schedule to mine. They are very nice to work with. They provide organic and non-organic treatment and the price is different for both.

I have been using them for quite some time. I was very dissatisfied with them. They hacked my trees to death and they charged much more money than they said. They were expensive to begin with.

Quite well, better than we've encountered from anybody else and we have quite a bit of work that's done here on trees and plantings.

A large, old pine tree in our side yard had been damaged by winter storms over the past two years. We decided to remove the tree prior to installing a privacy fence, as future storms would likely lead to fallen limbs damaging the new fence. We obtained four estimates for the work, ranging from $1800 to $3200. Some of the estimates required using our neighbor's yard for access for a bucket truck, or closing the adjacent street entirely. We selected Giroud based on past performance (we've used them before), price and because they could do the job without inconveniencing neighbors or stopping traffic. They did a good job of both removal and clean up. Their personnel were courteous, friendly and efficient. Overall a very professional organization. No problems at all, other than a minor scheduling issue that was quickly resolved. We'd recommend them, and use them again ourselves.

I talked with the gentleman and he came-out and looked at the tree and provided an estimate. The men then came-out and cut the branch down. They did a good job, were nice to deal with, and were professional.

I have used them quite a bit for several years for tree service and tree trimming. My experience with them has been very good. They are an excellent company and are punctual. They seem to know their business and do a good job of trimming the trees. When I called them to take down a tree which was leaning against my house, they were here within a day or day and a half.

I would like to upgrade my earlier report. The problem that I reported previously has been resolved. There was a communication misunderstanding which we discussed and Giroud has kindly reimbursed me. Their behavior has been professional. I can now recommend them without reservation.

My husband likes them because they are extremely knowledgeable. They aren?t the cheapest, but they definitely know what they are doing. I haven?t priced any other company in a long time. Somebody I worked with recommended them. They have experts who come out and they know everything about the trees. They are at the top as far as their knowledge is concerned. The service that they provide is good. We have been using their services for the last 3 or 4 years. We just call them and we don?t price anything else. We are very happy with their service, but we know that the job would be done right even if it costs us a bit more.

It went very well. They were very nice, very polite, very professional, and did an excellent job. The trees look great.

Again, love Giroud. I just used them about 4 months ago for some other tree work, and recently decided to take down a large tree (including stump grinding) and thin out another. This time, price was a bit higher relative to what I got done (it pays to group stuff together, so I've learned!), but as always, punctual service (especially because I am also pending a landscaping job that depended on these items being completed) and never would know they were there - clean, professional. A+ again from my favorite tree people :)

I saw that this company had great ratings from the list. I called the company and the receptionist took my info; Rob got back to me the next day. He came bright and early the day after and gave us a reasonable estimate of the work we wanted done and scheduled us for the next month, due to the busy season. Fortunately we got a call from Rob that the work could be done much earlier than expected. The crew came out and did the work as stated in the contract. We were very pleased.

After one cancellation which was understandable, the work was done in 3 hours. The men worked very hard and quickly. All of the debris was removed from the lawn and driveway. Michael Chenail, the arborist representative with whom I dealt was thoughtful, informative and he kept me advised when delay was necessary. I would certainly hire Giroud again and probably will since I have a lot of trees.

I decided to go with a different company for the work. The came and did the estimate while I was at work. They provided a detailed estimate of the work they would perform and the exact cost. The price was the main reason I chose someone else.

They were professional and they showed up with the right equipment and they cleaned up thoroughly.
