+ 0 moreIt went very well. John called me at 6:20am (!) to tell me he'd be here in 1/2-1 hr. He showed up and replaced the valve in about 20 minutes. While we were waiting for the system to cool down, he did a bit of maintenance on my boiler and explained useful things to me. We are in the middle of a terrible cold snap and I was grateful that he was able to come and fix my issue so efficiently.
Description of Work: I needed the final valve on my steam heating system replaced.

+ 0 moreReplaced sewer line coming from 2nd floor bathroom, which also carried rainwater from the roof. I had been away for a period of time and the kitchen ceiling was leaking... it was a hardcore leak. Which led to the ceiling partially collapsing form the massive, albeit invisible hole in my kitchen roof. This wasn't an easy job by any stretch.... the pipe had to be repaired and reconfigured because of the backassward way it was installed. Fred, Ian and John et all did a fantastic job zinc I can't thank them enough.
Description of Work: Replaced sewer line coming from 2nd floor bathroom. This was way worse than it sounds.

+ 0 moreEmployee was a bit late. I said I thought the toilet needed to be snaked but he thought a new flapper would do the trick and he was right. He showed me the shut-off valves and used a dye to check for a leak in the pipe.

Description of Work: They replaced a piece of pipe in my basement; fixed low water pressure and leaking in bathroom sink and tub as well as running toilet. Did a very good job and very trustworthy as fixed something they had originally thought I would have to replace.

+ -1 moreCalled on a Sunday, whoever called back was a bit abrupt on the phone, but said he'd be there on Monday. When pressed for something more specific, he said AM. At noon, nothing, so we called again - "sorry, I forgot". Anyway, Fred quickly came himself and before 1PM all was complete. This was the first time we'd had anything less than a positive experience, and since it was resolved quickly, we will use them again.

+ -1 moreCalled to request service after setting up an estimate, and was able to set up work for the same week (though I put it off slightly to accommodate work schedule.) Fred showed up early, walked me through every step, and replaced my water main in about 6 hours. He even swept up my basement and volunteered to wipe up the floor.
Description of Work: Bought a new house and discovered a lead water supply during inspection. Fred was recommended to me by a long-time client, and I had him come out and replace the water main - a fairly involved job! He was responsive, professional, and incredibly thorough...and his work improved my water pressure, too - bonus! Would highly recommend.

+ -1 moreIt went very smoothly. The worker had to remove most of the items stored under the sink so he could work, and discovered that it was wet, so I had to let it dry out for a couple of days, and then put them back inside.
Description of Work: I had unexplained water dripping in my laundry room below my kitchen. I called Fred Jonas and his worker came that day. He discovered the drain pipe from the sink was leaking and replaced it. Work was done quickly and the problem was resolved.

But Fred got those heaters in and out with his skill and know how! He always cleans up the area when he's completed a job. He even stayed to chat with us about the neighborhood.

When I explained the problems to him over the phone he told me how much he thought it should cost. When he actually came out to the house we saw how competent he was and decided to give him more work.
Description of Work: He replaced the insides of a Delta faucet, put in a Flowmaster in a toilet, welded in a new set of spigot handles in a laundry sink, and he made a quick adjustment in another toilet.

+ -1 moreThree visits & twice the money for a simple job. I am very dissatisfied. I would NOT recommend. The staff seems NOT interested in taking their time and pleasing the customer. They are more concerned with charging as much money as possible for the least amount of work.
Description of Work: They repaired a leaky joint on a baseboard radiator. This required 3 visits to get it right. Twice, the worker failed to replace the washer machine drain hose to it's proper place after draining the heater, spilling gallons of water on basement floor. For the 1st visit, the job was quoted at $200, but the final bill was $300 after a valve had to be replaced. Then, I was charged again, when the other side of the radiator started leaking. HIS STAFF SHOULD HAVE RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE ENTIRE 6' BASEBOARD FROM THE START, WHICH IS WHAT WAS DONE IN THE END.
