John came out to do the estimate within several days of my initial call and sent me the estimate by e-mail 3-4 days later. He was flexible about waiting until the job was ready (I was having roofing done first) and he scheduled his work to start two weeks after I told him the job was ready. John did a great job replacing broken siding tiles and caulked the minor cracks. He was responsive to requests to add on more areas to be painted. When he finished, the house looked like new. He was punctual, his work was neat, and he looked over the entire house for any missed spots or drips before he finished. He came back immediately when I noticed a small area that needed a little touch up. I was very pleased and would use him again and recommend his work.

This is the second project for our home that John worked on. The first one was for exterior painting which he did an excellent job and we were extremely satisfied. During that project we learned that John is a fine carpenter so when we needed our existing oak staircase to be sanded and refinished and stained red cherry stain to match the floors, we had contacted him. Other flooring guys who had put new floors for the upstairs will not take this project of sanding and refinishing the handrails and the balusters since it requires sanding by hand which is highly a tedious and manual process. We had 3 handrails and 2 of them were curved and one straight; there were about 70 balusters and also the landing of the balusters on the second floor were next to the existing cherry floors. All of these parts to be hand sanded. The only parts that can be sanded using a machine were the 14 threads and the nosing. John worked on this project for about 4-5 days. He showed up every day around 8 or 8:30 am. He would clean the dust not only in the area where he worked but also the nearby hallway and the rooms. After sanding he stained and applied 3 coats of polyurethane. He also painted all the areas where touch-up was necessary. When the job was completed, we were very, very happy. Although sanding and refinishing is not his everyday job, you can see that he was meticulous. As we are an elderly couple, we asked for his help to fix a few small items here and there and he attends also to these requests with a smile. John is highly professional and takes great pride in his work and we love this quality in him. We will use him and would recommend him to anyone.

John was very punctual when he came to do the estimate yet was not as punctual when he began the job. Once he came, he did a great job. He worked with a partner and took suggestions when I noticed some missed areas that needed to be fixed. I would ask John to do more work for us. He was very neat and a hard worker.

I asked for an estimate from John Tavares and agreed on the price for exterior work since his price was reasonable and affordable. While there was another contractor with a lower price, I liked what the other reviewers said about John. While John was working here, we liked his quality of work and professionalism and decided to hire him also for some additional work with interior repairs, painting and installing new moldings for 2 rooms etc. John is a carpenter and enjoys doing also the painting work. You can see that he takes pride in his work by seeing what a thorough job he does. He works hard, is very professional and kind. He worked alone most of the time except while installing the molding, he brought a helper. He cleaned the place everyday after he completed the work. Overall we were extremely happy with John and would hire him again when needed. He is a very honest man and his prices are very reasonable.

Could not have gone better. I called and left a message and received a call back promptly from John. He arrived on time for the estimate and gave a good price. He showed up as scheduled to do the job and finished in one day. He even did some extra work, painting an extra door and some additional trim and did not want any extra money for it. I am extremely pleased and would definitely recommend Dominic's Painting to others. We're already planning which rooms we will be painting next year, and will definitely have John come back to do that work.

John is a professional painter (and more) with all the characteristics you would look for in a contractor: honesty, punctuality, quality and most importantly reasonable pricing. All jobs were done as planned. He was very receptive to our on-the-fly comments here and there and would seek our opinion on the go to guarantee the outcome. He didn't overcharge us for a few small jobs that came up during his 2-day project at our house. Highly recommended. Will definitely hire him again for whatever he can perform.

I called John for an estimate and he returned my call the same afternoon. We agreed on a day and time for the estimate and John arrived on time. He was very quiet and professional; responding to my questions and offering suggestions. I had a specific design for a wood and tile mantle shelf that I wanted John to build. I picked him from Angie's List because he does more than just paint. And I was not disappointed! I received the estimate when he said to expect it and we agreed on a date to start the work. John started the work on June 4th and finished on Saturday, June 9th. He arrived at 8 AM every morning and worked quietly and efficiently throughout the day. John is polite, quiet, and professional. He was very good about working around the dogs and us. We even felt comfortable leaving John alone in the house; he is dependable and trustworthy. Whenever there was a question, John sought me out for approval. The ceiling repair was undetectable. I was very happy with the whole job. The mantle shelf looks great with the inlaid tile; John followed the design exactly and followed up with the grouting and the special details of the shelf. John has called to follow up on the job and make sure we were happy. We plan to use him again next year for the kitchen and deck!

I am so happy with the results as well as this experience! I was so impressed with his craftsmanship. John really has an eye for detail. His work ethic is impeccable. He didn't even want to take any breaks, he wanted to get the job done. Yet, he wasn't "rushing" to get it done. You can tell he takes pride in his work which is extremely hard to find these days. He has such precision in painting the edges at the top of the walls. He really took care of the holes in the walls which I was worried about. You would never know that they were ever there. Not one drip mark at all! I was so happy with this experience that I recommended John to my mom. She was just as pleased as I am with his work. In fact, I have more projects for John to complete :) I was really worried about hiring someone to do this job and getting screwed over because I am a young woman. However, John put all my worries to rest. He was so professional and respectful and really listened to what "I" wanted. If you are looking for quality work to be done, John is your guy!

Without a doubt, the best experience I ever had with a contractor. Showed up everyday like he said he would, on time or early! Was extremely meticulous about his work, kept the area as clean as possible - you hardly knew he was there. My house looks incredible. To cap it off - he powerwashed my front patio, scraped and ground the rust off my wrought iron fence and painted it, along with my mailbox. He even did the inside of my mailbox! I didn't even ask him to do anything beyond the wood. John just goes the extra mile to make you happy. I would recommend him to anyone. Excellent job.

I called John for an estimate and he was flexible with the time he could come over . He brought a paint sample book along which was more helpful in deciding colors than the paint booklets I had selected from the store. John completed his work in about 2 weeks and was very meticulous and tidy. Also, simple favors, like lifting heavy items like lawn bags for my husband, were an everyday occurance.

My upstairs windows were newly installed in the fall and the wooden trim around the interior of the windows needed to be spruced up and painted to match the rest of the woodwork. I called Dominic's for the estimate, and he arrived on time the following afternoon. He was friendly and professional. When he started to work in the house, my dogs didn't exactly welcome him, and he was very patient and polite while I guided them out to the backyard. After completing 3 of the 8 windows, he showed me a crack on a windowsill from water damage ( from the previous ancient window) and said that he could replace it for me. He bought the wood, installed it and went right into sanding and painting the remainder of the windows. His work was very thorough and seemingly non-stop. He worked for me for two days, repainting the window trim and the baseboard woodwork in my bedrooms. His work was very neat and there wasn't any stray drops of paint on my new bedroom carpet! I was happy with his work and want to recommend Dominic's painting to others.
