There's a lot of "A" ratings here and a few "F's." There is a reason for it. The "F's" all have something in common -- professional indifference. I booked an appointment with a 2-hour window. As the window was about to close, I called and was told there was backup and delay that Apex knew about but didn't think it was important enough to phone me. They said they would arrive at my service call when the previous call was settled. They never arrived. Even worse, Apex never called. A day later, they still haven't called. Won't ever use them or endorse them again.

first guy came out said it was to late in theday and would come back next day(friday) i called them back monday. they sent a different guy he said he had to go back to shop to get parts. never heard from them again.. i used another service and got it repaired same day about half hour job

The entire process of engaging them and getting a quote was quick. Their entire process was comprehensive and there was no up charge for anything. I took quotes from 7-10 companies and these folks were not the cheapest but they explained the services best and had no up charges for any additional work. The services were as explained and well performed. I am extremely happy with all the work they did. Dave provided detailed explanation of all the work that was done and it matched all the things i wanted checked and addressed as part of replacing the springs, openers etc. I would definitely recommend them due to the straightforward process, best cost for value and great service.

They placed the garage door with the wrong color, which they admitted as a mistake on their part. After offering a choice between $200 off the project's price and replacing with the color I ordered, I requested that they replace with the right door. I didn't hear from them for six months and the next time I heard from themthey were threatening to send me to a collection agency for the unpaid balance. I told them that I would pay when the work was done, after this, they once did not show up when promised and once sent a repair person without a door. I finally got the correct door after months of hassle and extremely poor customer service and would not recommend this company to anyone.

The repair, which involved replacement of the nylon drive gear, went well, but the work was not guaranteed, since the opener was ~20 years old. The repair didn't last more than two weeks, when the second gear stripped in the same way, sinking my $200 repair fee. I then decided to install a new opener myself from Home Depot, saving the ~$400 installation cost quoted by to co.

Job turned out exactly like I wanted and for a competitive price. Quality door and quality installation.

When my garage door opener began to mal function I called several companies to examine it. The first company charged me $180 to “fix” the problem. They didn’t. They came back and gave me a very high estimate to “replace” the opener explaining how they were deducting the cost of the repair. I decided to check around and found Nick from Apex. From the first phone conversation I found him to be clear and honest. He quoted me a reasonable price and we set a time for him to come to the house. Unfortunately, it was during the first blizzard, when nothing was moving. I was very impressed however with the fact that he was willing to come back and do the job on a Sunday morning, which he did. He showed up on time, completed the job, and everything has worked perfectly since then. I am a property manager by profession. I deal with contractors all day long. And beyond appreciating the good job he did, I genuinely liked him. I would not hesitate to recommend him should you need help with your garage door.

Mechanic suggested cleaning out the channel tracks that were incorrectly lubricated with a lithium based spray instead of silicone. Some minor adjustments were made to the door and wheels lubricated that were not turning were lubricated along with the drive chain. Motor dates back to 1992. Jolly good Sears!!

I first called because the garage door would only open some of the time. After explaining the problem, they actually told me how to fix it myself over the phone. Since I hadn't had any maintenance done on the door (almost 20 yrs old) I still had them come out to do a "tune up". They showed up on time, replaced parts that normally go with wear and tear, and made sure I totally understood and was comfortable using the door. Truly couldn't have been happier. Left a voice mail on the phone number in late afternoon and received a call back early on the following morning from Joe. However, neighbor notified us that he had chosen another service provider recommended by his family in the interim so Apex was not hired for the job.

They arrived on time and started to work immediately. They were polite, friendly and efficient. They warned us when to expect loud noises. After they were done they cleaned up thoroughly. Then they carefully and patiently explained the features of the door opener.

Our garage door is metal door that rolls up overhead. It started acting funny and needed an adjustment. I called Apex to set up an appointment for an estimate. I spoke to the guy and clearly stated that I just wanted an estimate. He said he would get back to me. A few days later he called and said "I'm here". Our neighbor (who shares the garage door) let him in and he went ahead and did the adjustment and charged us. The work he did was fine, but I gave a bad rating because he took the liberty of going ahead with the work when I clearly said I wanted an estimate. I don't know if it is a strong arm tactic that forces you to use them. They also charged $225 for a job that I got an estimate for less. I also intended to ask about an Angies list coupon that said $25 off any service. I called to ask if I could deduct the coupon, and the answer was no because the coupon is for commercial jobs. The coupon did not state that anywhere. I went ahead and mailed a check for the whole amount but it left me with a bad feeling, thus the bad review.

I originally contracted with Apex through a deal on Angie's List to replace a garage door opener for $425.00. Rich came today to do so, but determined that all we really needed was a through lubrication and adjustment versus replacement that would cost a mere $95.00 for the service call. I also asked him to do the same to my 2 other openers which cost an additional $50 each. Total savings was $230.00 not to mention that I didn't have to also replace my keypad connected to this unit and reprogram all of our cars. Great stuff! My appt was scheduled at a time convenient for me within 3 days of my order and Rich was extremely professional. I won't use anyone else in the future for my garage door needs.

Garage door broke and I didn't know what I was in for. Saw positive reviews of Apex on Angies List so called them. The person who answered the phone was great. She put me on hold and looked to see if she could wedge me in this morning. I was in luck! The guys showed up, looked at the garage, went to work and completed the job quickly. I would definitely recommend use of Apex.

Responded promptly and estimate was done quickly. However, the price was much higher than all other estimates. I saved $450.00 by using another company.

He did an adquate job, I don't have aything to compare it to. The man was later than agreed, and communicated but after he was already late, and in person was rather brusque. The job was minor and done adquately. I just wasnt impressed by his conversation with me and so would probably try someone else next time.

The service and installation was great. They showed up on a dreadful inclement day. They went right to work and finished in a timely fashion. Professional and courteous. I would recommend this outfit to anyone.
