I purchased a prepaid service from this company. The initial call from them was several days later and not as designated by Angie's List terms. When they did call they wanted a picture of the locks. When told that I could not provide one as I did not have access and requested an appointment, she provided one and told me that they would call and let me know if they were going to show up. The morning prior to my appointment i telephoned to provide my new contact information as well as information about the locks. And expand the service request. The gentleman I spoke with told me the technician would call prior to coming tomorrow and I should provide him with that information at that time. At 4:43 pm the same day they called and said the don't have a technician for the area. When asked why they advertise that they do, she replied they no longer have a technician in the area. Angie's List is refunding my purchase but beware.

They were professional. The price was good. He said that he didn’t recommend those kinds of locks. A guy up at the store where I bought the lock, he said that he had never hear of anybody having problems with the lock. The thing is, I can’t blame either one of them because I don’t know which ones correct. The store had an interesting thing that the lock works, because obliviously it’s their lock and they sale it. The locksmith had an interesting thing that it’s not a good lock, because if I had bought the other kind of lock; then any time that I had a problem with a lock and I needed to change it, I had to get a locksmith; and he is a locksmith. So, both of them had a vested interest in telling me what they told me, so I don’t know who was actually telling the true or not. The price was real reasonable, he fixed it real reasonably. It was really a good experience. He took a picture of the lock and said if I had another problem with that lock again that he would come out; and he would buy the same type of lock, but it would be one that you couldn’t change yourself. You can’t blame somebody if you don’t know. I wasn’t sure if he was telling me the truth or not, but I don’t know. He might have been telling me the truth, that those locks aren’t very good.

Great! I was contacted very quickly to schedule appointment and they were able to come out in a day or so. I had calls confirming my appointment, and Mike was right on time. He thankfully had a well stocked truck and was able to replace the locks I asked for, all in finish/color I preferred. Very happy with the service and Mike was a real pleasure who cheerfully accommodated all my changes to original work order. Very much enjoying all my new, easy to use door locks!

They were pretty good. They showed up on time and was able to take care of the work. They were polite and I was happy with the service. The part that was a little difficult was there was some confusion about scheduling but it got sorted out. The work was excellent.

The provider arrived very late in the time period in which he was expected. The provider seemed like he was in a hurry and he rushed through the job. The provider changed the locks on two double cylinder doors and one single cylinder door. Then the provider attempted to change the lock on the Andersen sliding glass door to our deck. When the provider finished changing the lock on the Andersen door, I tested the lock and it did not work. The lever on the inside of the door did not lock in the same manner as it did before the provider worked on it. I asked the provider to adjust the lock to the original settings and the provider alleged that the lock had been broken before he started working on it. The provider continued to try to fix the lock. At one point, the door could not be completely closed and there was a one inch opening between the door and the frame. When the provider finished working on the door, it was locked; however, the door can only be opened with a key from the outside. The latch on the inside of the door does not work, so the door cannot be opened from the inside. It was clear that the provider was not familiar with the lock on the Andersen door. I received a telephone call from the provider's company the next day. Based on my experience with the provider, I believe that the provider does not know how to change the lock on Andersen sliding glass doors and I do not want this provider to further damage the lock on that door by attempting to remedy the horrible and unacceptable situation that he created. I have contacted the Andersen company to request that Andersen repair the lock. In addition, the lock on the door to the garage worked for a short time and now that lock cannot be opened with the key. The key became jammed in the lock and I cannot even remove the key. In summary, the provider changed the locks on four doors. As a result of the provider's shoddy work, the locks on two of the four doors are now inoperable. That is not high quality work and I find that result unacceptable. The provider's shoddy work left me in a worse situation because I now have two inoperable locks which must be repaired.I request the following:1)I request a full refund of the $165.00 Angie's list purchase. 2)I request a full refund of the extra $75.00 charged by the provider at the time of the service call. The provider charged me an additional $75.00 and I gave him a check in that amount. When I talked to the provider's company the day after the service call, I was assured that the $75.00 check would not be cashed; however, American Best Locksmith did in fact cash that check.3)I request reimbursement of the time and money that I will have to spend to repair the lock on the Andersen sliding glass door and the lock on the door to the garage. I do not have the full amount of those charges at this time, but I would be happy to provide that information when those repairs are completed.Thank you for your help with my requests to remedy the many problems created at my home by this provider.

They showed up 2 hours past the appointment time. We were then told that it would be an additional $400 above the deal price.

Very well but, I was charged for 5 because I needed 5 done initially. However, we did not have a key for one of the locks and he could not rekey it. I did not realize it until days after.

It was okay, I just had to call a couple of times, cause they accidentally overcharged me and everything, but It was okay. They got it figured out and everything. It was fine. They were trying to ignore the fact that I already paid the $135 and charged me the full $300 for the full job. I had to get them to refund me. Price was fine. Quality was pretty nice. It?s not their fault, we live like an hour away. I guess I would use them again, but I wouldn?t have no reason to, I don?t need to rekey my locks again. I think they did a good job. It was just a little confusing, it was a little bit of a hassle, but they did a good job. It took 20 minutes. Worker was nice.

First, I called to verify the details of the coupon offered through Angie's list which would allow for 4 locks to be re-keyed for $175. My question was what would happen if I purchased the coupon and then the locksmith came out to tell us that the locks needed to be replaced. The answer was simple - they'd allow the coupon to be used toward the purchase of new locks as well. I made the appointment for 7 pm (after work) and the technician actually called me at 6:28 pm to see if I could come earlier. He called just as I was planning to leave my current home, so we ended up meeting at about 6:50 pm or so. Not bad - at least I wasn't sitting around waiting! The locksmith looked at our locks on two doors and quickly pointed out that both doors had double deadbolts on them with different cylinders in addition to another lock in the doorknob too. What we thought was two locks per door was actually three locks per door. The cost to re-key the additional locks was $40 each, so we ended up calling the office to pay the additional $80 via phone. He did give us the option to put new locks on the doors, but pointed out that the cost would be higher for a new install and that for the purpose we needed him there, it wasn't necessary to spend the extra money. There is a third door to our fenced backyard, however once we looked at it together, the access to the deadbolt and lock on the doorknob were both only on the interior of the home so he recommended not changing that unless we wanted to pay for a new install. We'll probably be changing that door at some point anyway, so we agreed to leave it as is. We appreciated his honest feedback on how to best meet our needs and never felt like he was trying to get us to spend extra money. We have the same key to all the doors and he made 4 keys for us on site. This was the first time I've purchased any coupons or services from Angie's list and I'd have to say I'm pleased. I got my receipt via e-mail this morning. I'd definitely call them again. All in all, the work probably took about 1.5 hours.

Purchased discounted services on Angie's List, which reduced my expected cost considerably. The locksmith was at my house in under an hour and completed the work in about 45 minutes. He could not have been more pleasant and professional. We have a very high-end front door, and the locksmith was very careful not to damage the finish. I would unreservedly recommend American Best Locksmith to anyone in need of locksmith services.

I wrote it all above. Mike gets five stars. He also took a picture of the ID card to my high security lock to put on file in case my keys get lost and I need a duplicate. because this is a specially designed key for this high security lock. He called in my debit card and then we were done.

We hired this locksmith to replace locks in our new home. They were on time, took on a large project, and got all the locks done in a very efficient time. The whole experience was stress and worry free.

This Company is 24 hours and 7 days a week. A family member told me about this Company because I lost my car key for my Chrysler 300 2009. The service man came out and made me a new car key on site, he made me the key wit the remote attached to it and programmed the key so it would start the car. They help me out with a good price and helped me with the service. They came out fast and the service was quick and professional. Thank you.

I had trouble with the lock on my front door and I couldn't lock it when i was leaving for work. This company had someone to me in less than 1 hour. The technician Luka was able to fix it in 30 minutes. He had all the parts that were needed. Thanks to him I was able to get to work in a timely matter.

From the beginning it went great. The team is super responsive. They made sure they were able to provide me the best information possible, so had me send in a picture of the lock I needed to access- this allowed them to give me a precise price quote. They were very professional, informative and helpful. They came quickly and the technician was very knowledgable and professional. This is a great team of people I'd be happy to recommend and work with in the future.

Definitely call this company if you need an older model car key made. I have a car that is about 25 years old a lot of places I called told me either an outrageous amount to have the key made or basically they couldn?t make my key period. When I called Phila Locksmith they gave me an exact price over the phone and had someone to me in about an hour. The technician Al, made me a key for my ignition and a key for my door, because my vehicle had 2 different keys. I was able to pay using my credit card which was a plus because I had absolutely no cash on me. This company is the company to call if you ever need immediate service and do not want to wait.

They were good. They change the keys on the car and house, they did everything so fast. I was really satisfied with them.

I was in the city to celebrate my anniversary and while enjoying a few cocktails I managed to loose the keys to my car, I searched all over the restaurant I was at and could not find them. The waiter gave me the phone number to these guys and the rest is history. I called into the office it was just about midnight and the girl who answered was very polite and calmed me down reassuring they would have the technician there in about a half hour. It was just over 45 minutes when the guy alan showed up and helped me out. He made the new key to my car in a few short minutes and he even cut me a spare to avoid loosing it in the future. when he finished he gave me the receipt and was so helpful I did not have enough cash on me so he told the office i was going to split the payment with cash and my card it was so easy to deal with these guys and the price they told me on the phone was exactly what I paid. I will recommend them to anyone I know who needs the service of a locksmith. I even gave the business card alan gave me to a guy who was locked out of his car the other day during the snow at the super market. By the time I was coming out of the store there was already a guy on site unlocking the guys door!

Wonderful job overall. I called and on the first ring a representative picked up the phone. She forwarded my response to an oncall locksmith who called me back within 5 minutes. Arrived at my house within 30 minutes (keep in mind I called at midnight!). diagnosed the problem very quickly and showed me what the problem was. I needed a new lock, he saved me lots of money by using one he had in his truck instead of having me purchase a new set from the manufacturer. Ran into some very technical issues but again quickly resolved those problems. Spent approx 1 hour on the job. Gave me the price I was quoted and gave me the option of cash or credit. Very polite service man. I would HIGHLY recommend this company. Good thing I didn't read the other reviews because they were pretty bad. My experience was very different than the others.

I was satisfied with the promptness of service. I was satisfied with the new locks performance. I am not satisfied with the lack of professioalism and the big difference in the price quoted. I am not seatisfied with not providing me with a business card on request. I am not satisfied that their address is not on the receipt. I am not satisfied with the uneasy feeling the technician may or may not be in possession of the keys to my house. I also feel I was overcharged for the service performed. He was only here for thirty minutes. I also do not like the ideal he was insisting on cash. He should have told me that before he performed the work. That also should be fully stated in the yellow pages and when I made the appointment over the phone.

I will never use this company again. Highly priced, uses inexpensive materials and extremely unorganised. After promising a certain time to do the job, they did not arrive until 2 hours later. I was told arrive at 10 am. I leave my job to go to my house and then receive a call it will be I was originally told the lock add on an additional hour for service. I can not go back to job so I wait. After an hour passes another technician calls to tell me it will be another hour before he arrives. He calls to say he is at my house but he was actually at another house. The dispatcher gave him the wrong address. I tell him the correct address and he says he is in the area and it will only take another 15 minutes. 45 minutes later I call him and he does not answer the phone. I call dispatcher who sends out man to arrive another 45 minutes. I have wasted 2and a half hours. The job was to originally cost $285 but because of my aggravation he took off $20.00. I do not know about you but my time and aggravation with this company is worth more than $20.00. I used this company several times before, but I will never use them again. Further he deadbolt they put on was a cheap $10.00 version you can get at any hardware store.
