Description of Work: We provided Backyard Woodshop with antique Governor Winthrop desk and Barrister bookcases. They were not in good shape when we dropped them off. The desk was gorgeous. He apologized a bit for some minor blemishes in the veneer of the bookcases that wouldn't stay glued right, but considering there original condition they were beautiful. Not sure why he apolgized as further efforts to repair would have compromised the finish on the veneer. The refinish cost was roughly equal to their mark61st value, but we had some beautifuply restored family heirlooms.

Description of Work: Rick lunden, owner of Backyard Woodshop, came to our home, inspected the furniture that we wanted refurbished, fully explained their process, and quoted us a fair price to do the work. They stripped, reglued, and refinished our dining room furniture. It came out looking beautiful and much sturdier then before. We were very pleased with Rick's professionalism and the quality of his work!

I got the estimate late June. He advised me his work load was 3 or months out. He called in October to arrange pick up. I had it back in 2 weeks time.
Description of Work: I had a 250 y/o+ linen press that has been in the family for generations. The finish was cracked and not pleasant to look at. As well as some damage. Rick, the owner, came and looked at the piece. Before quoting, he advised me of the pros and cons of refinishing a piece of this age. Mainly the value. Since I have no intention of selling the piece, I went ahead with the restoration. I must admit, I had reservations as he drove off with the piece. But that disappeared the day he delivered it. It looked better than I remembered it. It was several months before he could get to it, but I had it back in 2 weeks after he picked it up. I wish i could attach before/after pictures. Beautiful work!

It went well, however 10 minutes before they said they would deliver the chair to my house, the man who answered the phone actually admitted that he forgot that he was going to deliver the chair. He was at my house within 15 minutes of the original agreed time, which was 10am. So, in the future, I hope they remember what they tell their customers, or have them write everything down on the invoice, including delivery.
Description of Work: Kevin from Backyard Woodshop did the repairs to a chair I bought on Craigslist. They Did a good job of reattaching legs to a broken antique chair.
