While this time they didn't do an upholstery job for me, I'd not hesitate to call them in the future. They were prompt, pleasant, and delivered in a snowstorm!

I met George Yantosik at his shop in Hummelstown. I showed him the chairs and told him I needed an estimate of the cost to replace the velvet with the same quality fabric. This was to take care of the claim with the moving company. I told him that I wanted to choose a different fabric to actually use for the reupholstery; that I would pay the difference. I wanted something like a high quality Sunbrella fabric so the chairs would not only be beautiful, but practical. George took the time to show me fabrics, he had many sample books with many many options. He talked knowledgeably about the different choices and helped me to understand the pro's and cons of the different choices. He also told me I could bring in my own fabric if I wished and explained how that would work. It was fun and challenging to choose. As i remember it, he had the estimate for the moving company to me w/in a day or so. I found a copy of a note I had sent him indicating how surprised I was at the quick response. He told me that he was really busy and it would be well into the next month (6 - 8 weeks) before he could get to it. That was fine with me as it wasn't an urgent need. I was again surprised, and excited, to hear from him about 3 weeks later letting me know the chairs were finished and ready for pick up. He told me he had been able to work on them around some of the large projects he was doing. The chairs are beautiful! I couldn't be more pleased. I love the fabric, but it was the beautiful workmanship that really made them shine. There was piping around the seats and backs, and the fabric I chose had a pattern that could have been unsightly if he wasn't so skilled. I sew, so I understand, in retrospect, that it wasn't the easiest fabric to use. I wasn't thinking about pattern match and cording and such when I chose it; just that I wanted it and I wasn't doing the work. I see the chairs every day, and they make me happy. Not just because they are beautiful, not just because I don't have to worry about actually using them, but because they were my Mother's and in a sense their beauty and continued use honors her.
