First the company came to measure my floor. I brought up that I did want the floor finished under appliances and I would move the appliances. Some discussions began about 1/4 round moldings were going to be used around the edges of the floor. The moldings were to be brought out prior to the job so that painting and staining could be completed. I thought that odd for a customer to provide painting services but none the less I agreed. A few days later I was provided a verbal estimate over the phone of about $1900. I thought this was high but did some checking at Home Depot and found the estimate was very fair. I called back to accept the agreement within a week. I was told that I misheard or misunderstood the verbal estimate but the actual estimate is now $2596.31 After some arguing to no avail, I agreed because they were able to start the job quickly as others had much longer waiting lists for installation. I was told it was a one day installation with tile and grout both. Because I really loved the product itself, I continued on with the contract even though red flags were waving. The lone installer showed up late in the afternoon and said the job would take longer because he was by himself. Then, the boss had the AUDACITY to call him and send him to Home Depot to find transitions!! What?! The moldings were never brought out so that prepping could be completed. So, the moldings were installed unpainted and some unstained. The installer had no idea about finishing the floor under the appliances even though all of them had been moved out of the kitchen. It was obvious that the "boss" did not pass this along. THE SECOND DAY OF THIS "one day install" turned into three as now two installers ran out of grout!! Upon inspection of the floor, my wife and I realized that it was very crooked. We were told that our house, a 2005 build, was crooked. My wife knew, just by watching HGTV, that the installer should have taken many measurements to compensate for such a thing! Professional installers tile homes much much older and much more crooked with much better results. You should not be able to tell that the floor is crooked when a PROFESSIONAL tiles your floor. I, along with my entire family, am extremely dissatisfied, disappointed and dismayed that a company could be so unprofessional. We really feel that, except for the price of the product, we were "ripped off". I would imagine that the manufacturer of this product would like to know about this hideous company and their totally unacceptable, unprofessional install!! Please, save your $ and do not go to Couch Potato....the name seems quite fitting!!
