Price Gouging/COVID19 Profiteering Alert! Thanks Mallard Plumbing for over-charging me on my new water heater. Home guide says a new gas water heater should run $600-$1,800. Mallard picked my pocket for $2,900 for a standard 40 gallon Bradford White install. We were "up against it" as the next Saturday morning we had to attend my 36 year old nephews funeral. I tried to buy local and Mallard Plumbing certainly put it to me. $800 per hour for a plumber?

They were on time, charged a service fee of $69 in addition to the hour of work which they charged $450 additional for. The quote originally had $400 which was scribbled over to $450. They wanted an additional $350 to replace an outside hose faucet. The work was fine, the pricing was outrageous and they knew I was in a bind to get the dishwasher installed. Essentially, they picked the meat off my bones with a smile. No PPE during the pandemic. They were done in an hour for $519.00. Learn from my mistake and get competitive quotes. My dishwasher installer recommended Mallard and apologized for the overprice. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Description of Work: I needed 2 water shut off valves for my dishwasher to be installed and replace the water valve to my refrigerator, 12 inches away.

They did a great job installing the special faucet on our granite countertop. The area was very tight and difficult to work in. They also found a defective valve, which they replaced for an additional fee. They also answered some other plumbing questions that we had concerning the sump pumps and shut off valves.

great - were able to find burst, and replace section of pipe that same day. was able to do it without removing the toilet, even though it was a small area, to save me some money.

Description of Work: Called for emergency service at 7:00 pm for leak in the basement ceiling. Part of the ceiling had come down with flooding on the floor. They answered the phone promptly and were out in record time ! They were professional and immediately found the problem. They explained what happened and what needed to be done to fix the issue with a fair price. Very thorough and courteous. We found our new plumber!!
