this group is awesome...the entire process from the quoting, purchasing, installation and follow up was best in class and we will be utilizing them for our windows next...can't say enough about these guys...

The first installation did not go well; the door was not properly attached to the jamb of this old house. We noticed after a few weeks that the door was getting harder to open and shut. It took several calls to get someone out to fix it, and he was unable to do much. A second person came and figured out the problem, but did not have the right tools to fix it. He told us to contact their office. The office staff was also not helpful. Once they finally returned our phone messages, we received an email noting that the earliest date they could schedule was Dec. 24, Christmas Eve. At that point, we emailed them and copied Anderson Windows, who had subcontracted the work. After that, two very helpful men who knew what they were doing (Mike and Pat) came out in a week and did the job right. We are still left with some of the messy workmanship from the first installation, but very satisfied that the work was finally taken care of, and we can now open and shut the door without over exerting ourselves (and damaging the jamb where the lock was hitting it), or giving up and going out the back.

Crew was professional, polite and thorough. 5 stars for sure. Would recommend to neighbors.

As a new homeowner, the process can often feel overwhelming, but Acre Windows truly transformed our window installation experience into a seamless one. They worked within our budget and made what can typically be a stressful process much smoother. I want to extend a personal thank you to Joe for his honest advice and reassuring energy—he truly made a difference. The work was completed quickly and the quality of windows was good however, there were a few issues. They did a good job but I think the company wasn’t totally honest. It appeared they hired sub-contractors that weren’t licensed and they were highly priced. We decided to use another company to finish the rest of the windows.

Everything turned out extremely well. They were very professional. The sales guy came in and demoed the product and gave us a firm price and they delivered the same day. I thought it was great work.

The experience went well. The technicians were thorough in their work and kept the work area clean. They were efficient with their time and did a good job. Any questions or issues that I had, they were responsive to. I’m happy with their services overall.

The experience went very well. I’ve used them in the past previously, which also went well. I wasn’t there when they were doing the installation, but my mom was and she told me they did a nice job. The technicians cleaned up after themselves and were meticulous to make sure they didn’t damage anything. I’m happy with their services.

The experience was great overall. They completed the job on time and did everything that we had asked. Everything that was written in the contract, they completed. The technicians were clean, professional, and everything went well.

Originally, the price that they had quoted had to be changed because Anderson wasn't manufacturing that window anymore. We had a deck outside which they were able to remove for us as well, so we didn't have to call out a separate company. They took care of all of the construction and did a great job.

The appointment went well until I indicated that I would not make a final decision on the first visit nor sign a contract. I indicated that I would get two other estimates and make my decsion over the weekend. Until that point, the appointment was pleasant and informative with the representative arroving on time and taking the appropriate measurements. After that point, I was told that it was inconvenient when a customer makes them come out a second time. I was told the problems with other companies rather than remaining focused on the positive aspects of their company. I was also not given a written estimate. I was provided a verbal estimate of almost $42,000 to replace all my windows (large job). I was also told that they would work on price if I was committed to doing the job. I was asked several times what my price range was. I explained each time that I want them to give me their best price and that i would compare price, quality and service from the three bids to make my offer. I was then promised a written estimate to be sent to me by email in order to make the decision over the weekend. Well, last weekend came and went. No email. yes, I checked my inbox and spam filter. The other two companies provided written estimates, various options priced out differently, and did not seem bothered by the fact that I would be getting other estimates. Another interesting note is that the other two offers were between $15,000 and $20,000 lower than the verbal offer from this company. Poor sales practices. I did not go with this company nor would I recommend them based on the sales process. I don't need a hard sell; to be preasured; or to be felt like I'm inconveniencing the company. 12/15/2011 - UPDATE In all fairness to this company, I decided to update this review based on a telephone call from the manger of the company this afternoon. The manager called me after reading my review on Angie's list to offer his apologies, hear my complaint, ensure me that the saleman will be talked to about his practices, and inform me that their current policy is to provide timely written estimates. While I stand by my original complaint as it is factual accurate, I appreciated the call and hope that this company is turning the corner in the right direction. They didn't have to call me. They didn't have to ask what could they do to make it right. They didn't have to explain their internal corrective actions. While I didn't take them up on their offer as I have already decided to move forward with another company, I was impressed with the phone call. This shows the power and significance of Angie's List and the importance in writing honest reviews, either positive or negative. It informs the consumer and can help a company improve.

Acre never completed the job by installing the threshold. We have called numerous times, spoke with Scott the manager, but, over the course of almost one year, they have never responded. In speaking with Andersen Windows Headquaters , they have recommended we speak with the local Better Business Bureau. They were also otherwise unpleasant to deal with.

They were very responsive initially. He was punctual and on time for the appointment. They gave me a quote for $28,000 which is way out of line for 12 replacement windows. In fact, I got a quote for the same work for $13,000 and $15,000 from another company. I e-mailed them to follow-up and asked them to give me a break down on the cost per window and labor and everything else. I did not get any response. You have to know what the cost break-up is since you only get tax credits for products and material and not on the labor charges. I did not get back to them. I haven't hired anyone for the work yet but they have been eliminated. They wouldn't provide me with a written proposal for the windows and they didn't provide me with the break-up. You don't want anybody who doesn't provide you with a written proposal to work on your house.

The install began on the second floor windows. We were told that each window is replaced one at a time. Four installers removed 8 windows immediately, exposing my home to birds, flies, and other non-desirables. By the time I looked, my security contacts were snipped and disposed of. When I asked the installers why they would deliberately snip the contacts, they said that's what they do. I asked if they were in their way - they responded that they weren't. For most of the other eight windows, they left the contacts on but inadvertently caused damage to the wires. I had two conversations with the project manager prior to the install. The contacts were adhered to the window using two sided tape. I scrapped the contacts off the windows. The contact connected to the wire was dangling. The installers had to do nothing but use some care. They did none of that. They also confirmed that the project manager (Scott) never relayed our conversations to them regarding the security system. The installers also realized that the screens for 6 of the windows did not fit. They promised to have them to me in two weeks. During the nicest fall weather, I could not open my windows without screens. After I complained, they tried to fix the contact problem themselves but their solution did not work. After four weeks of not having a security system, I called the security company in to repair the damage. It cost $400 ($25/window for 14 of the 16 windows). They claimed that they would reimburse us for $175 as the project manager said (on 11/11) : "I'm glad you were able to get the security system up and running and I am sure you feel better. As we did discuss we assumed no liability for the correct operation of the system. As my installers cut the leads for 7 windows we will reimburse you for 7 @ $25 per unit for a total of $175.00. The window that had no wires exposed was due to the wires not being long enough. A condition I warned about in the beginning and assumed no liability for. This situation is the reason I always require the alarm company or homeowner to prepare the system for our work. We will send you a check for $175.00. The screens have come in and I will get them out to you next week. I will call to set the appointment to install them or just drop them off if you like." I then responded back to Scott and Matt Manfred (GM) on 11/12 saying: "Hi Scott, I don't remember anywhere in the sales or installation discussions a statement that ACRE assumed no liability for the security system. All your installers had to do was nothing, except exude a little care. I had a working system before the install and I expected a working system after the install. Am I understanding you correctly that you agree to pay for deliberate damage but not for indirect damage?" I have not heard from anyone since. I contacted Matthew Manfred (the General Manager) and Frank Sannelli, (the Salesman) and I have received absolutely no response. So, it is two months now and I do not have the screens to 6 of my windows, I do not have any paperwork from them to use for the tax credit, and I have not received reimbursement for the security system damage.
