Description of Work: had purchased refrigerator,electric range,washer and dryer. was delivered and set up mostly without incident. After using the dryer only 3 or 4 times it would not turn on and I phoned the company to repair it.

Description of Work: My refrigerator kept shutting down so I called the store where I purchased the refrigerator and a few service repair companies locally to get an estimate for repairs. EVERYONE of these so called repairmen used a flashlight to diagnose the problem and they all told me the same thing you need to buy a new motherboard. I do know that in order to diagnose a problem you need the appropriate instruments not a flashlight. I told everyone of them to go ahead and order the parts and I'll get back with you to setup a repair time.. Needless to say I never called one of them. I did that for spite. I was discussing this problem with a friend and he told me about Shaffer's. BOY WHAT A DIFFERENCEgreater than !!!! I marked all A's in his ratings for all the right reasons This person who came to my house for my refrigerator not only fixed the frig but replaced a switch on the stove as well. He charged for the service call ($65) the other two dollars was for the part for the stove not the frig. He was the ONLY person who looked at the frig who knew where the Diagnostic repair instructions were taped to the underside of the frig. He pulled them out and began diagnosing the electronics of the frig. The fix was simple the drain was getting warm air into it and tripping a sensor. The fix was to put a nipple on the end of the drain so water comes out but keeps warm air out. $.02 piece caused all that trouble he called the manufacturer and they confirmed his diagnosis. I was pretty happy about the whole experience. The wife then asked him about the stove and he didn't hesitate to take a look. He found the problem in seconds but he had to order the part which he came back to install at a later date ( one week later) NO CHARGE until all items were fixed. my bill was 67bucks WOW I believe that this individual is THE ONLY TRUE PROFESSIONAL left. I went through three other appliance repair "professionals" (as they like to be called) before my friend told me about Shaffers. I wish I would have used him first. He came when he said he would, he diagnosed the problem with my frig within a few minutes, he called the company to confirm the issue which is in the design of the refrigerator. He then applied the appropiate fix which was fairly simply it has worked flawlessly since. The other service personnel that I had come to look at it previously used flashlights to diagnose the problem and ALL three said the same thing "ITS THE MOTHERBOARD WE CAN ORDER A NEW ONE FOR $300.00. " WOW!!! A flashlight will tell you anything. Shaffer's PROFESSIONAL service man is "ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS" I can't say enough about this company.
