I went down and complained to the crew. They refused to admit and left the mess. I called their co. They left a message that "they have not done so as the manager was with the crew ( the fox's witness is his tail!!).

The grass cutting was adequate. I thought that the $900+ estimate to clean around my entire backyard fence was more than I was willing to spend so I asked him to do only about 1/5 of the right side and about 1/4 of the left side (none of the back and nothing on the remaining 4/5 of the right side or 3/4 of the left side). I naively presumed that this small portion of the job would cost less than 1/3 of the total estimate. I was willing to spend $2-300 for the portions closest to the house. His crew came and spent a few hours in my backyard split between working (slowly) and taking breaks. They left lots of clutter that I thought would have been cleaned away given what I was paying. They did clean some of the weeds and trimmed some of the shrubs but, frankly, it was not a great job. When I received a bill for more than $600, I was shocked. As I mentioned, they did a small fraction of the work that was estimated at $900 -- and didn't even do that great a job. I realize that it's my fault for not getting a 2nd estimate for the reduced job but I called John Rosato in the hopes that he would be reasonable and we could reach an understanding. I was, of course, willing to pay something but I thought he would be reasonable. He was not. He simply said that the work was done and I had to pay. I asked, since he charged me over 1/2 the original estimate, could his crew come back and do some more of the perimeter. He said "No" because they've already been to the dump and cleaned up, etc. One thing that bothered me was the fact that I was being billed, in part, for how long the job took. Since I witnessed the crew working at what appeared to be a leisurely pace, I felt that this was unfair. What bothered me most was his attitude of "We did the work so you have to pay" with no glimmer of customer service or "What can I do to make this right?" That's the type of business I'm used to dealing with. If you too are used to dealing with businesses that value customer service, you should steer very clear of Rosato Landscaping! I looked into whether we could fight the bill legally. Our attorney advised us that we'd pay more to fight it than to simply pay Rosato so we paid the bill and found a new landscaper. Lesson learned!!
Description of Work: Rosato did my weekly grass cutting for a couple of months (about 1 acre lawn). I also asked him to clean weeds and tidy shrubs around the perimeter of my property.
