Responded same day came following day. Very professional but friendly also. On time located problem ordered part installed the next day. Cleared away excess water and left area very clean. Above and beyond call of duty. They noticed that a pipe from air conditioner wasn't glued together so they fixed it.. They have definitely earned my trust and any future needs I will be using this company.

Outstanding customer experience from the first call till service was performed. On time and completed all work for a reasonable price. Very knowledgeable. Will definitely be my preferred HVAC and plumbing contractor.

In the midst of a kitchen reno for a tenant, the plumber went missing, so I had to replace him quickly. I called Chad at Proudfoot and he and partner were able to come that same day. They proposed to come out and give me a bid, and come back to do the work another time. I told Chad that I didn't have time for that, and asked him to come prepared to do the job. In all fairness, he did provide the price prior to doing the work, but they knew that I was not in a position to find another plumber. The prices were outrageous. $562.00 for garbage disposal + installation; $362.00 to install a kitchen faucet; $139.00 to prep for dishwasher installation. They would not install it - as every other plumber would. So $1060.00 for ??? This was in no way considered an emergency call. Even if it was, the price would still be excessive. I texted my 2 regular plumbers - who both happened to be out of town at the same time. They both could not believe the price. Three times what they would have charged, and they would have installed the dishwasher. But Chad and partner were nice guys... if that counts for anything.

Great! Hugh was very thorough and resolved issue quickly and did preventative work due to some neglect on our part. (Yep, you do need to do an annual maintenance check, especially after 17 yrs)

Showed up on time, did good work, finished on time, cleaned up before they left. Did not change estimate even though work scope had to change to get the job done. Still looking good after almost two years.

They are above professional. Wasn't expected so large amount but feel satisfied in work I received. I would call them back. They are expensive but soooo worth it. Thank you Hugh and crew !!!!!

Proudfoot is great. I've had them come both for an emergency (the water heater started leaking) and a scheduled appointment (the furnace wasn't working very well). They get you in quickly in either case. Hugh, especially, is great. He's extremely knowledgeable, and he takes the time to go over exactly what's wrong, and how it can be fixed. He showed me precisely what was a problem in the furnace, and what it would cost to replace the parts, and how much longer the furnace would last. He gave replacement as an option, but didn't push it. I decided to replace, because I'd prefer not to worry about it, and he had a book of options for different furnaces (same with the water heater), so i could see the expensive and less expensive options, and what the differences were. Hugh takes care of all the business and diagnostic work, and he has some very good younger guys come in and do the installation work while he goes and tends to other appointments. He always comes back to conference if there are any questions or problems, and at the end when everything is done. That's really important and helpful because it's easiest to work with one person. The guys he has do the work are great, but with just one person in charge of talking to you, you don't have to worry about making sure to repeat yourself, or that all your questions and concerns are being communicated. In short, Proudfoot is an excellent company, Hugh Williams is a delight to work with, and I will always use them for any future plumbing needs. I have no idea if they're cheap or expensive compared to other companies, because I have always been so satisfied with their work that I wouldn't go elsewhere. For me, I feel like I'm getting a great value, and that's what is most important.

I've hired Proudfoot twice: once for a broken water heater, and the other for a furnace repair and air conditioning maintenance. I can't say enough good things about them. When the water heater broke, I didn't have a regular plumber, so I called them because they had installed the water heater for our home's previous owner many years ago. They came out that day, and rather than immediately recommend that I replace the water heater, Hugh, the guy who came, made sure that it wasn't something that could be fixed. In the end, it was replaced, but I like knowing that it was necessary. He also had several different water heater options that he could have installed that day, so I had a few different price points and features to consider. When my furnace stopped blowing this spring, I called them again. Hugh came out again, and he checked things over. My furnace was filthy, because I hadn't kept on top of maintenance. He was nice about that, rather than the condescending or lecturing way I've had other guys be. He was just very matter of fact about all the dirt that had built up on the motor, and that's the kind of stuff regular maintenance will remedy. Even though my furnace is 17 years old, and almost at the end of its lifespan, he didn't try to get me to replace it. He cleaned everything, replaced the parts that were broken, and was done the day he came out. There was an old leak in the furnace that he couldn't fix without some major disassembling and time, and he told me about it but did not recommend spending the money to fix it now, given the fact that it was not a safety issue and that the furnace is older. I appreciate that honesty, as well. It seems very efficient and common sense. As an addendum, about three days later, I noticed some water leaking out of the furnace, so I called back. Someone came out within 20 minutes of calling, and it was just a small thing that had to be tightened, and it has been perfect ever since. That little leak did not detract from my good opinion of them, because I know that sometimes new parts need to run a little. I was incredibly impressed with how quickly they got to it, so I am completely satisfied. Both the furnace and the air conditioning seem to be running better than ever.

They are always on time, nice, and easy to get ahold of, and I like everything about the service.

Hugh Williams (Owner) and crew (Doug and Chad) were puntual-clean and couteous. I've had numerous contractors-tradesmen in our home in the past year. Complete gut and remodel of a 1944 frame home. I sure as heck wish I had known of Proudfoot Plumbing then. The quote was very reasonable. Their work was excellent. Instead of tracking through our house, the used our basement door. When they went upstairs, the put their booties on. They originally stated the job should take 2 days. They finished in one--staying late. They even repaired our dryer vent--not even on the list. When I need plumbing-heating-a/c I'm certainly going to call Proudfoot. Greg S.

I was away on vacation in January, 2011. While I was away I got a call from my son (who stops by to check on the house when I am away) found ceilings on the floor and water everywhere. The flute leading from the wall to the boiler developed a hole in it, boiler stopped working, water and radiator pipes frozen. Two out of nine radiators were replaced and three repaired. Another and ldquo;Word of Mouthand rdquo; company began work but they were extremely unprofessional. The initial visit by the owner went well. He then referred me to his son(s). They stayed on the job, were very persistent in indentifying and repairing the leaks but I became concerned about the materials they used as well as the overall mess they were making. After this experience, I joined Angie's List, began to research Plumbers and stared and making calls to get estimates. The first few calls I made were returned with promise to call back but they never did. I made follow up calls, but I settled with Proudfoot Plumbing. The reviews on the company said the prices were little high but I called, Mr. Williams returned my call, gave me background on his company and scheduled an appointment. He and Doug came on time. They even put covers over their shoes before entering the house, although there was no need for that because I am still getting drywall installed and carpeting will have to be replaced. But they were very professional. Mr. Williams assessed the problem and left Doug to do the work. Doug explained every thing he was doing and repair that needed to be done beforehand. He replaced some of the material with better quality/up to standard materials in addition; he performed and explained safety checks. The repairs were less than I estimated and I am very happy with the job.

They were prompt, polite, and nice, but they were really expensive. It is an expensive project, but they are a particularly expensive company. They are extremely professional.

Aside from forgetting a tool and having to go back to their shop to retrieve it, everything was fine.

They are very knowledgeable and thorough. I have confidence in their work. They are very attentive to not making a mess when coming in and not tracking in dirt. The workers are very courteous. I have talked to other people who have used them, they are a little pricey. However, you feel secure about the services that they provide. It is definitely worth the price.

Our old waterheater rusted through and we called several people for estimates on a new one. We really wanted to go with a heat-as-you-use model to save carbon emissions and $$s. The first two companies we tried were responsive and honest, but did not have great expertise with these models and discouraged us from getting one. Proudfoot was excellent, walking us through the pros and cons and doing an afforable and very professional job. We would definitely recommend them. We have also been very pleased with the heater - it takes a little longer to get hot water to the low volume taps upstairs, but the water is very hot and it never runs out and our bill is lower each month. The heater is more expensive but it is worth it for the mentary and environmental impact.

I have known Hugh and his work since circa 1997, when my land lady used them for plumbing repairs. When I bought my own house, they were the only plumbing company I called. Over the years they have seen me safely through bathroom leaks and renovations, gas leaks, et cetera. The crews arrive when they say they will, they're professional and neat, they explain everything, and they're always available for follow up questions. They once fixed an exterior gas line leak, which involved excavating my front yard, in February in the course of a single business day. They may cost more than other plumbing companies, but I have never, ever had to call them back to fix their own work. I know that Hugh spends a lot of time and money keeping up with certifications and regulations, and he uses quality fittings and materials. Plumbing is one thing you don't want to have done cheaply!

Overall-excellent. They gave a fixed price in advance, no add ons. They did what they said they would and arrived when they said they would. Technicians were well informed and competent and very courteous. Job was neat, tidy and thorough. They are expensive!

I thought their response was very quick because I had to call them at 11:00 at night and they showed up right away. They did impress me by coming back out to repair a minor leak. When I called them to let them know it was still leaking a bit, I think they were able to get back here in 10 minutes. The price did seem a little high but at the same time, it was reasonable because it included an emergency service.
