+ -1 moreThey need to be more careful They crew arrived on time and very accommodating. However they seemed in a rush and did not think some of their actions through. One one our cabinet drawer handle caught the wall and broke. Also, they did not remove the dresser drawers when going up the stairs. Several draws fell out and when I tried to see what was happening was cut on the forehead. They just need better training.
Description of Work: Move our 2 bed room condo to another unit in the same complex.

Description of Work: Good experience, no real damage and they were timely and efficient. They even went out of the way to try to get my son's bureau onto the 3rd floor and when they couldn't get it up the turned staircase suggested alternatives and then took apart the furniture for us to get it upstairs. Of course I still had to put it back together but they had made it clear that they could not help do that.

Description of Work: I needed my antiques moved from my home in Buckingham, PA 15 miles to Alderfer Auction House outside Lansdale, PA for their auction scheduled the week of June 16th. I was told that Alderfer's moving crew would do the move, but a week before, I was told Alderfer's crew was "booked up", but the auctioneer just happened to have another resource who could do the job. So the auctioneer even wrote up the moving proposal himself and guess what it cost? Over $1500! To say that the estimate was "loaded" was an understatement. It included over $500 alone for packing and "unpacking" five boxes of random china (which I later packed myself). By the way, Alderfers Auction House always unpacks your boxes, so to include unpacking in the estimate was outrageous. So there I was, trapped with this $1500 estimate and my auction just days away. Then I call Moody Movers, the premiere antique moving company in the Philadelphia area. And for $535, they did the job. 3 hours to pack. 30 minutes to get there. Unpacked for free (Alderfer helped). So why was the auctioneer's suggested mover over $1500? You should ask him. Also, in a nutshell, as my Alderfer auctioneer predicted, "YOUR ANTIQUES ARE VIRTUALLY WORTHLESS IN TODAY'S AUCTION MARKET" and he proved it by "giving away" my 80-year-old antique cherry cupboard for $335? Previously appraised for $3500. So my advice, skip the auction exercise and sell your household goods and antiques to a company who buys and removed stuff and you will come out ahead. Meanwhile, need a mover who "babies" your antiques, call Moody's. For me they're the best at a bargain price!

+ -1 moreMy wife contact Moody's for an estimate and availability by phone, but her call was not returned within 48 hours. I then followed up with my own request, referencing my wife's original call. I also did not receive a timely response. We contacted our realtor to see if she could at least determine why we were not get our calls returned; however, because time was of the essence, we had contracted with another moving company that was highly rated on Angie's List by the time Mr. Moody returned our call.
Description of Work: Seeking short turn-around, local moving services for the end of the month after closing of home sale was accelerated. Contacted Moody's at recommendation of our realtor.

+ -1 moreThe move was quoted as a three hour minimum. The movers acted as if they had all day but completed the move in three hours. One of the crew was texting and listening to tunes on his phone the entire time. One of the crew had to be told to get out of our massage chair during the move! The biggest problem came after the move. Although they finished in three hours; they billed for four hours. I did not realize this until I paid the foreman and put a calculator to the bil when I got home. In addition, I had a big screen TV moved. I was told that the special box for this would cost $40. The and quot;specialand quot; box was a mirror / painting box which goes for less than $10 at U-Haul. The kicker is - the box was a used box! I called the office that afternoon and left a message stating there was a problem with the bill and to return my call. No call. The next day I called again and was able to speak to one of the office staff who told me that the manager would call back that day. No call. I was forced to stop payment on my check and reissue another for $160 lower. The second check was cashed without a phone call.
Description of Work: Contracted Moody for a move from my home to a storage facility. Approximately 3 rooms. I was told that there would be a three hour minimum at $128 per hour for a crew of three. Packing material would be billed separately. The move entailed two bedrooms plus about 30 boxes that were ready to go. A big screen TV which was dismounted also was moved.

+ -1 moreThey were super friendly. They were very professional and handled everything I owned with care. I enjoyed the fact that they were friendly. They talked to me and had conversations with me. They kept a very steady pace with everything that they were moving. They discussed issues about where to put the stuff before moving it. I didn't have any problems with them at all. Everything was good. Anytime I called them they would call back and when I email them they have acknowledged it. They have been prompt even in setting up of the appointments by letting me know what was going on at all times.

+ -1 moreThe movers (3 men) were nice but they stopped working after only 6 hours and said they would have to come back the next day and finish up. They charged me an extra for 1.5 travel time and a minimum of 3 hours for the next day when it took the movers 2 hours to complete the 2nd day work. They should have completed everything in one 8 hour day. I had a local company move me ( 2 men) from the apt and storage facility to my new home and the total was $644.00. They are dishonest and do not respond to your complaints..

+ -1 moreThe movers, Tim and Junior, arrived at the storage facility 30 minutes late. This is understandable since they were coming from Doylestown down to Langhorne and after the snow storm. Tim and Junior were very cool to work with. The moved all the items out of storage and into the truck. They padded and shrink-wrapped all the items and secured them. When arriving at the house, they were able to position the truck so that they can efficiently move thing out of the truck and into the house. They were able to move a heavy TV into the basement and a large dresser into the master bedroom upstairs. Definitely the best moving experience I've had! Made my life a little bit easier during a hectic week.
Description of Work: I needed movers to transport big items (furniture, etc.) from storage facility to new home. Spoke to Brian and he quoted me a price for 2 men and a truck for a minimum of 3 hours. I met movers at the facility in the morning and they moved the items into the truck efficiently. Arrived at our home and they unloaded the truck into the home just as efficiently. Movers were friendly and courteous and very cool to work with.

+ -1 moreWe contacted Moody Movers to move us a few miles to our new house. With little notice, they scheduled us a few days after our call and showed up promptly. They quickly loaded all of our stuff, and even quicker unloaded at the new house. Anything we asked of the guys, they did. The three employees were professional and friendly. They asked questions if they were unsure how we wanted something. They were the best! Too bad we don't plan on moving again for a while.

+ -1 moreThey were contracted to move my house's contents in one day. They underestimated the volume of goods to be moved and did not bring enough people. The team leader did not manage the team and when it got to 8 PM they all said they would not work anymore and went home. I had to finish the move myself. When I call Scot Moody to address what happened, he was initially pleasant but turned nasty quickly and refused to respond to repairing damage caused by his people at both my old house and new house. I was berated by Mr. Moody when I asked for the repairs to be done. Very unprofessional. He was paid in full and his team members were tipped as if they did a good job. I would never recommend Moody to any friends.
