Prior to hiring a home inspector, I researched various companies in the area. Experience had taught me to be less concerned about overall cost, and more about the overall quality of the inspectors and inspection process. I was impressed with Yingst's website. I liked the fact that the inspection was not just a checklist of items. The generated report was to be written with detailed information specific to all areas of the house. I also felt comforted by the fact that Engineers performed the test. Decision made, I contacted Yingst. I never regretted my choice. The reasons are outlined below. 1. Every time I needed to contact the company, the call was answered - I never received a recording. 2. Kim, who answered my calls, was friendly, professional, and had excellent follow through. Some correspondence was done via emails. On all occasions, any inquiries or requests for additional information was typically responded to on the same day, and usually within minutes or a few hours. Kim's personality was wonderful, and I am sure she makes every customer feel as if I did - that my husband and I, as well as our home purchase, were extremely important to the company. 3. The actual inspection was performed by Kirk. He performed the home inspection in as diligent and thorough manner, as I had anticipated. Questions were responded to in a professional and detailed manner. My concerns were addressed, and I never felt rushed. Even if there was a need for further clarification, time was not an issue. Kirk's report was received the next business day. This report was over 24 pages of narrative on all aspects of the house. There were additional pages at the back that listed all the areas that needed immediate attention, and those within 1 year, 5 years, etc. A separate page outlined projected costs for these items. Also provided was a page that listed anticipated maintenance with a timeline included. As I had a few follow-up questions, Kirk responded to my phone call within a couple of hours. Once again, his attention to detail and response to my inquiries were not rushed. 4. The Septic inspection was conducted by Stephen Yingst, who is the President of the company. It was very clear from his professional attitude how the old adage that management sets the tone, was apparent in the other areas of the company with which I had interaction. The same attention to detail, response to questions, customer service and immediacy in generating a final report were provided. As there were concerns which required follow-up, Stephen responded the same day. He listened to my worries and spoke with both my husband and me later in the evening for nearly an hour. He provided referrals the next day as requested, as well as follow-up information. The above information is truly a synopsis of my experience. There were many other positive aspects, or this already lengthy report would be much longer. I do not believe I have ever had such a positive experience with all employees of any company. I would not hesitate to recommend them (in fact I already have).
Description of Work: Yingst Engineers performed a full home inspection. In addition, a Septic inspection was performed, for an additional $350.
