I had to contacted Mr. Wertz continually to find out when he was going to start the job, but he made excuses that him and his crew were finishing other projects or the weather was prohibiting from starting . By July of 2013 I informed Mr. Wertz that I wanted a refund in which he got verbally abusive with me. After he calmed down, he called back and asked for another chance, which I gave him, but wished I hadn't. I waited another two weeks and called again. Then Mr. Wertz and his two man crew showed up to start on my roof. They would show up around 11 a.m. everyday and leave by 3 or 4 p.m. He had my roof off for two weeks, in which then it rained and water was pouring into my house. I had just laid new flooring which gotten ruined, not to mention all the water in my duct work, running out of the ceiling lights and ceiling fans and water damage to the ceiling. I contacted the local building inspector, which I found out that he never got a building permit, (It was in the contract that he was required to do). The inspector came out that same day and told him that he could not leave that day without getting the house under cover. It took him several more weeks to get the job done. He also did not complete the items that the building inspector told him that needed to be done. Mr. Wertz also put in the contract that the roof will be warranted for life. But I would never have him work on anything ever again. I had to hire another roofer to come and fix the damage that Mr. Wertz did to the roof. The roofer told me that he has never seen such poor workmanship in his 30 years of doing roofs. There are three different types of shingles, he left holes where the roof and siding meet, the vents are on backwards, and the esthetics is so poor that it is very noticeable. I also filed a lawsuit against Mr. Wertz, but came to find out many people have sued Mr. Wertz. He has evaded all the attempts to serve him, because he has been in trouble so much before.
