...Yes, the gaps were resealed at no charge but are still noticeable and unsightly. The idea that we "managed" and directed the employees is laughable and ludicrous. The overhang of one of the two opposite counters varies by as much as almost an inch and is very noticeable. The two template makers were rushing and in a hurry to measure the space and told us that they needed to be in Pittsburgh at a certain time. The dispenser hole was drilled too close to the position of underside lip of sink which made it hard for owner to install dispenser. It is now very hard to install liquid soap in unit. Homeowner waited the 30 hours as instructed by company before installing garbage disposal unit. Yes, I was wrong about this cost and should have checked my checkbook. The Service Provider states that they have "near perfect" performance. Come to our house to see the percentage of their service that is not perfect and for which they blame the customer.
Description of Work: Rebuttal to accusations of Service Provider: March 13, 2007 old kitchen counters ripped out and templates made. March 26, new granite tops installed. But it was not until the second week in April that the final piece of backsplash was installed due to problems with the unevenness of the granite. We did not order the sink that was delivered. According to the company, after it was installed I decided I did not like it. Why then, when I first saw it, did I immediately tell the workmen, "this is the wrong sink." They were willing to take it back but that would have meant waiting for them to fabricate another piece of granite for the correct shape of the sink we originally ordered. That afternoon my husband called Custom Stone and Tile and spoke to the woman from whom we ordered the sink. She said the one we originally ordered was sitting in the showroom! Out of town company was coming, I needed a sink, so we had no choice but to accept the wrong one. It was installed sloppily & unevenly...

Response from Stone Kitchen
1. Customer selected the sink, approved it in writing & we provided it. We did not deliver the wrong sink. They simply do not like their choice now. 2. Customer attended and "managed" our employees during pattern & installation. They approved the pattern in writing & were present to witness & direct employees as to how it was to be made. 3. Soap dispenser hole was correct given the envelope size constraints & is installed properly. 4. On site range cut out corners (remainder cut at plant) is normal and proper per industry standards. No issue here. 5. Backsplash was remade & properly installed. 6. Sink gap was due to customer installing garbage disposal before sealants cured, against our instructions. Sink resealed at no charge. 7. Private letters to absentee owner's home will not be answered. However, letters to the business will always be answered promptly. 8. Customer was given ample opportunity to inspect their installation & they approved it prior to employees leaving, except for the backsplash which was resolved after Easter. 9. Customers request for $800 doesn't make the installation any different, only their checkbook improves. Original price was $7,505 not $8,000 as claimed. 10. We are a first class quality manufacturer with near perfect performance. Occasional issues arise & we take care of them promptly. We warrant our workmanship and material but do not warrant customer damage or buyer remorse.
