RICK'S SAME DAY APPLIANCE REPAIR SERVICE

My 20+ year old wall oven was not maintaining temperature. I had noted that steam was escaping around the oven door and thought that the oven door seal needed to be replaced. Rick had immediately responded to my email inquiry to determine if he serviced older GE appliances and what I thought the problem was. When I tried to make an appointment with him, I didn't hear back and after a week I decided to contact another repair service who called me back and left a message that they could come out within 2 days and replace the gasket for approx. $125. Before I could call them back, I heard from Rick. He didn't think that the gasket would be the problem but would do diagnostics. He came out next day, tested the oven temperatures, told me that the problem was not with the gasket and replacing it would not solve the problem. I decided that due to the age of the oven it was most cost-effective to replace it.

My dishwasher failed to operate in August. I called this Angies List provider. He set up an appointment. He arrived exactly on time and looked at the dishwasher. It needed a new motherboard. Rick got a cost estimate and a date when the part would be available. He suggested I price new dishwashers to determine if I wanted to spend the money. I decided on the repair. He promised to call in late September when it arrived. He called on 9/24 and said it had arrived. He came and installed the part the next morning. The dishwasher works perfectly. Rick is an honest, excellent repairman. I would call him again if an appliance broke.

The circulation fan motor in my freezer started screaming like a fire alarm in the early evening. I had to unplug the refrigerator to stop the noise. This also meant my refrigerator and freezer were not working. I called Rick early the next morning and left a message on his voicemail. He returned my call quickly. He was sure he knew what the problem was from my description and came to my home that afternoon well within his time frame. He brought a replacement fan motor with him and replaced the defective fan. That quick service meant my refrigerated food was preserved.

I like them a lot. He came on Monday morning at 8:00 AM and he came today at 11:30. We decided to repair the 25 year old refrigerator and we're junking the 5 year old dishwasher.

I believe the workman was and quot;Rickand quot; himself. We had been living with our non-automatic igniting burners for awhile, so although he could have come the same day, we said the next day would be just fine. Rick arrived when he said he would. He is VERY professional and communicates clearly. He took quite awhile examining and taking apart the appliance. Then he asked us to come in and look at the inside of the range top. Seems mice (and before we got our kitty, we had very bold mice) were taking dry dog food from our pup's bowl, going into the range top from a hole they had made, and lolling on the fiberglass to eat. When they were done with the dog food, they nibbled the wires going into the burners. (Then, of course, they pooped!) This is the reason the wires no longer ignited the burners. Rick said we had three choices. We could pay him to repair and replace as needed; we could buy a new oven; or we could continue to light the burners manually, as we had been doing. The repair would have been expensive, and the stove was only a few years old so we didn't want to buy a new one. We decided to keep lighting the burners manually for a few more years, until we might need to replace the stove for other reasons. I was really pleased that Rick showed me and explained the problem, then clearly explained three possible solutions.

Called Rick in the morning and he was here within 3 hours. Looked at our dishwasher which hadn't been working properly. He diagnosed it as the motor going bad and said he could fix it for about $300, but rather than coercing us into doing this, he spent a significant amount of time offering his knowledge about the state of newer appliances and repairs, resulting in us deciding to purchase a new dishwasher. He was up-front about the conflict of interest that would result if he were to sell dishwashers himself, and even encouraged us to let the appliance shop do the installation as it would be cheaper. But he was open to recommending brands, certain appliance stores, and what we should look for in a new dishwasher. He was professional, intelligent, and we'll definitely call him again if/when something else goes.

and quot;Same Day Appliance Serviceand quot; is a joke. This fella seems knowledgable enough but after spending a good deal of time diagnosing my oven, he never got back to me. He said he had to price the parts. After not having heard from him a week later I left a few message. Now it's been over 3 weeks and I've heard nothing from him. He wasted my time and his own.

He was very effective and efficient. I would give him an A rating. The cost was reasonably priced. He explained everything to me and made sure I understood.

Rick arrived on time as promised. He noticed the rubber seal around the drain hole was preventing the defrosting water from going down. He flattened the seal around the drainage hole so it would be level and allow the water to properly drain. Rick told me this was a GE design flaw . He said if this didn't work he would return and create a channel out of silicone caulking from the defrosting element down into the drainage hole. I didn't need to call Rick back because flattening the seal fixed the problem. I have not had ice or water accumulate in the bottom of the freezer since. I would definitely call Rick again.

Rick was very informative and on time. Quick response.

Called provider to discuss/schedule a repair to my Kit Aid refrigerator. Spoke with provider one time who agreed to recontact me as I could not speak with him when initially contacted. Called provider at least twice more to initiate a discussion and left VM both times. Provider would not return my calls. and quot;Gave upand quot; on Rick's Same Day Appliance Repair Service and trying to contact other appliance repair professionals listed on Angie's List.

My 1998-era gas range was and quot;clicking and whooshingand quot; repeatedly whenever the oven was on, although food appeared to be cooking properly. I searched Angie's List, found Rick and sent a message to his website. When he didn't respond within a day, I left him a phone message, which he returned the same day. (NOTE TO USERS: Rick responds immediately to phone messages, but I suspect he isn't able to check his website often as he works for himself, so if you need him right away, CALL HIM.) We set up a diagnostic visit for a few days later, and he told me the visit would cost approximately $70 if I declined the repair work, but this fee would be waived if I went ahead with the repair. (This was a much better deal than the other appliance repair services I had contacted, most of whom charged over $100 for an estimate visit regardless of whether any repairs were ordered, then an hourly labor rate on top of the estimate fee for repairs.) He diagnosed a faulty electrical igniter in the oven, explained the problem and solution to me very clearly, then repaired the oven right then. The entire visit took less than one hour and cost me a total of $207. The oven works beautifully and I'm no longer concerned about the safety of the appliance. He was efficient, professional, friendly, patient in his explanations, straightforward and honest. I highly recommend him, and will absolutely use him again.

Left message, return call within a few minutes. Service call within a few hours. Inspection and safety message. Professional and responsive. Definitely would call again.

I would definitely call him again because he returned my call promptly. He was very professional and helpful and he saved me a lot on money.

I contacted Rich through his website on 9/16 and never received a response.

From the first call, Rick kept me informed. The washer was in a rental of mine. The new tenant said that the washer leaked all over the basement. I found Rick in Angie's List. I called him. I gave him my tenant's phone number so they could contact each other. He diagnosed the problem and did not need any parts to correct the situation. He had her up and going in no time. Wonderful service.

From the immediate call back to end of repair - the service was top notch. He communicated everything he did and what was needed to repair the default.

Rick did not fix problem because, as explained above, it wasn't an appliance problem. I was really happy that he took the time to find out what the issue really was, even though it was not technically in his area of expertise. He also recommended his own plumber to fix the problem, since I didn't want to call the first one back again. I really appreciate Rick's willingness to help me get to the bottom of this mystery. I will call him again if I ever need an appliance repair. Highly recommended.

Rick called first thing Monday morning after receiving my message from Sunday about my dryer not working. He said he would be by between 12-2. He arrived a little after 2:00 after calling to tell me that he was running late and would be there soon. He identified the issue right away and gave me an estimate to repair. He had the part on his truck and was able to repair in under an hour. So far so good. The dryer is running fine. I appreciated the quick service. I will call on Rick again for any appliance issues in the future.

Left message on Tuesday night. call was returned first thing Wednesday morning. appointment made for Thursday between 9-11. Repairman arrived at 9:30,; very courteous, explained the job, had the part, was in and out within 15-20 minutes. Did not get a receipt. unclear on service charge versus cost of part and labor.

Rick was responsive and punctual. I actually wasn't present when he was there but my husband was there. I suspected our washer wasn't operating well (i.e. not really cleaning clothes), and was afraid it was just old and we would need a new one. Rick said that our washer/dryer were great quality, and in good shape despite their age. He quickly fixed the agitator which was not functioning properly. He also fixed ice maker which hasn't been making ice at all for ages. We had big ice cubes within an hour. My husband said he was awesome -knowledgeable, professional, efficient, and clearly really loves what he does. Call Rick.

Rick promptly returned by phone call and scheduled the repair. He was very courteous, on time and I would use him again!

Called Rick on Wednesday afternoon and he returned my call in 5 minutes. He came the next morning to repair my washer, did an amazing job and was extremely reasonable. I would definitely recommend him!

The oven ignighter went out on my gas stove . I tried to replace it myself but it still wouldn't work. Rick responded the same night I called and after some phone tag arrived within a few hours. He was efficient and helpful with my oven repair. He even listened to my dishwasher as he replaced the oven ignighter and diagnosed the dishwasher problem. Rick then showed my that the part I installed was bad and I should return it. He told me I completed the repair correctly, and should exchange this part and keep a spare ignighter since I can do the job myself. Very satisified.

Called Rick around 1pm. He called me back about an hour later and said he was close by and could come over within the hour. He diagnosed the problem in about 5 seconds and had the part in his truck. He explained in great detail what he was doing, how the part typically breaks and how the new part would last longer because of improved design features. I had briefly considered trying to fix it myself and I'm so glad I didn't! It would have cost me a fortune in time to do what Rick did in just a few minutes. It was a pleasure to watch someone who really knows what they're doing!
