B & K Moving & Hauling

I had used the company before and they were very responsive, super accommodating and a very nice local company. We had the same experience when they packed us up. The guys worked very hard and got the job done. Unfortunately, they did not do a good job packing our trailers...we had a lot of damaged furniture on arrival. The moving guys on the other end showed me how they piled furniture on each other incorrectly. I'm sure for a local move it wouldn't have been a problem. I would not recommend them for helping with long distance move.

B&K was terrific. Their estimating procedures were not as high-tech as some of the other firms we considered, but the estimates were right on (we used 4 men and 1 truck). All of the extra charges (travel time, extra fee for the piano) were explained very clearly up front. The guys they sent were great. One guy (John?) was the informal group leader, he very quickly figured out who was going to do what, and then they just pitched in and did it. They took very few breaks, even though it was a hot day. Most of the stuff was supposed to go on the truck, but a few things were supposed to go to a garage for later trashing. We did not have the trash stuff clearly marked but they only made 1 mistake (out of 30-40 boxes and items for trashing). Some of the trash furniture was in an attic which was only partially floored, we weren't sure whether they would agree to move any of it but they cleaned out everything without complaint and very efficiently. [And remember that this was cleaning out an attic in August!] They were careful with our stuff, I think that one piece got slightly damaged but that was it. I would recommend this company without reservation.

Well the situations was when they were three quarters of the way through they told me that they wouldn't be able to put any more of my possessions on the truck, That was really bad because they didn't put any chairs on there as they are being refinished. He didn't even walk into my bathroom to get toiletries. His truck was small and it broke down. When I called him he was very nasty saying I was crazy and told me my house was horrible. He was very rude than any man has ever been to me. He was a nasty businessman and had no boundaries with his mouth. He quoted $1631 and charged around $3300. It took him 3 times to move us and we tipped them each time. I have never had such a bad experience and I have moved over 20 times. His men were nice but old and had trouble moving my possessions that I cherish. He didn't guarantee one thing even though I signed for insurance.

The B&K moving team of Tom, Lou and Marco were true professionals. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, handled our furniture with care and were friendly and communicative throughout the process. I even asked them move an old refrigerator into a new location, which was not part of the original plan, and they happily complied. They had to handle some rather large pieces on some tight stairways - there were some minor marks and scrapes on walls, but that's to be expected with any move. I would recommend B&K and this team for a move.

This is a great company. The guys were on time, friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend them.

On confirmation of the move the day before, while asking questions of Robert Link, was informed of $500 deductible on their insurance that the customer was responsible for. Mr. Link said this is standard in the industry and not having moved before, was not aware. Team of 4 movers showed up on time and moved quickly during the day to get move done. Two of the movers took a fall causing minor scape damage to one of the bureaus. Would have preferred that all the furniture would have been wrapped before being moved from the house. Was told it is customary to do the wrapping after removed from house. Movers were polite, considerate and very patient as they were being directed in all directions once they arrived at the condo apartment with where everything was to go. The night after the move was completed, it was noticed that the footings on of the sofas were not level. Upon calling Mr. Link in the days after, he was very responsive to the damage to the bureau. He personally came to the condo to touch up the bureau and while he was there, looked at the sofa footings. He found that his movers had reattached the legs to the sofa incorrectly and he himself switched the legs so the sofa now sat correctly. He also pitched in and moved some of the furniture over a few feet from where it was originally situated. Mr. Link and his company took the extra steps to make this move as easy as possible. He personally followed up on a few items mentioned above. Would highly recommend this company.

B&K Movers were fantastic! What a great group if men! I was so thankful to have them assist us with this very large project! I highly recommend them!

B&K sent out three seasoned movers and a truck. The gentlemen were models of professionalism and courtesy. They figured out how to dismantle and move my heavy bed frame/Denver air mattress. No furniture was damaged and they finished their work in under four hours. The only draw back is one has to pay for the full four hours as a minimum, but it was well worth it. One couldn't ask for more reliable movers.

Fully explained the charges, confirmed appointment twice the week before, provided insurance certificate to the new apartment building, showed up right on time, completed the job VERY quickly (no dawdling even though they were being paid by the hour), no complaints of any kind about moving furniture down three flights of curving stairs, very friendly & professional crew, no damage of any kind to any of the furniture. In short, no complaints at all, and I would definitely use them again. Cost was a little high because I was subject to the 4-hour minimum (which was fully explained) for the three-man crew.

These guys did a terrific job! They were friendly and professional. They worked hard the entire time and managed to stay within the minimum hours of service- four hours. They actually made moving a positive experience and I will definitely recommend them to anyone I know who is moving!!

We had a great experience! The moving crew was punctual, hard-working and very efficient. I would highly recommend this company if your family has an upcoming move, there were no surprises and performed the work that was quoted!

The crew arrived on time and allof my belongings were in my new apt in 3 hours despite a stop off at a storage locker to pick up additional items. The whole move went very smoothly

Great work. We were provided with estimate for 4 hrs work, and they showed up precisely on time, completed the move from one house to another (both 3 story row houses in Fairmount/Spring Garden neighborhood) within the 4 hr time frame. Took care not to scuff walls, were careful with furniture. We are hiring them to do the finishe move (furniture left behind for 'staging' our old house for selling).

They were efficient, prompt and careful.

I had picked B&K moving based exclusively on existing Angie's List reviews, as I have been extremely happy with this approach many, many times. Well, for the first time, it wasn't an overwhelmingly positive experience! We needed to move a lot of stuff (4BR house) a very short distance (less than half a mile). The team showed up on time and was pleasant and hard working throughout the day. "A" rating on that. What bothered my wife and me tremendously was the lack of organization the team displayed: They did not utilize stickers or any other method to know where things ought to go in the new house. Instead, I was asked by every mover coming into the new house: "Where does this go?" Easy to handle with the boxes we had labeled beforehand, tougher when it came to pieces of furniture that they had disassembled at the other end. Do you know every piece of the bed you have in your guest room? I don't, I realized. The highlight of this mess, frankly, was the moment I had to tell the team that they had re-assembled one bed incorrectly - we noted thanks to a small sticker my kids had placed on one corner piece. In the end, everything was in place, nothing was broken, and the team had completed the job before the end of the day - all is well that ends well, I guess. But I would not want to repeat this experience.

B & K responded quickly to an online form. The people I talked to over the phone were informative and helpful. I had to move quickly and it was important to get as much accurate information as quickly as possible. After getting several other quotes, I was able to confirm the move with them over the phone for later the same week. I received a call from the crew lead the day before suggesting a two truck 5 men crew rather than the 1 truck 4 men crew I had reserved. I decided to follow his advice and as a result the move went much more quickly and smoothly. It also perhaps ended up costing about the same as if I had gone with the 1 truck, 4 man option. They worked hard and fast... the entire time. They were cordial, pleasant and professional. A sample of their helpful attitude was when one of the movers asked my 13 year old if she like the way the room had been set up. She said she like it and he said that they would be there for awhile and if she wanted it changed around that they would gladly move the room around any way she liked it. I think that is pretty impressive. I would definitely use B & K again; I just hope I don't need to anytime too soon.

B and K Moving is an awesome company and I would recommend their services to anyone looking for a move. We had two pickup locations and one drop off location at our new house. They took care to place mats by the doors in an effort to not drag dirt into the house. I was quoted an ETA between 8:45-9:00am and the guys arrived at 8:48am-very prompt. They quickly asked me to show them the area and they got to work. After both pickup locations, the foreman informed me that they would work through lunch to get our job done even quicker. Everything was done in four hours and it was very affordable (actually less expensive than I paid in 2008 for a very similar move). Again, outstanding job by an outstanding company- don't look anywhere else. Use B and K Moving and you will not be disappointed.

This was the second time we used BK Movers and again they were punctual and professional. The move was completed in a timely manner without a scratch or dent. In short, the gentleman were great and I would never consider useing anyone else.

Things went very well. Bob Link kept me fully informed on the timetable... his crew arrived on scheduled, and completed the task right on the mark. His crew faced lighter traffic than expected, and completed the job in less time than estimated. The actual cost was approx. 30% less than the estimate. Overall, very satisfactory

B&K was booked for our local move from a 3 bedroom house to a larger house just a few miles away. Because of our settlement times we needed to be out on Sunday and moved in on Monday. B&K's quote (even with overtime on Sunday) came in fair with the others and since they had good reviews I booked them. About a week before the move I went back to thier website to review and saw that a 3hr min was listed. I called the owner to confirm our dates and asked him about the 3hr min and if it applies as I did not remember us discussing that. He said there was actually a 5hr min during the summer and insisted he had told me when he gave me the quote of 10 hrs. I agreed that the quote was for 10hrs of work but recalled that he gave me tips on reducing move time and told me they only charge for time worked to the nearest 15 min. He became very disgruntled and told me it wasn't worth his team's time to do a move under 5 hrs and if I didn't want to go with them I could find someone else. I became very concerned that his attitude may impact the quality of my move and decided to go with another company.

These guys are feakin' AWESOME!!!! Don't look anywhere else. I made the arrangements over the phone by giving them a very general description of what needed to be moved - a 3 bedroom home and 2 large packed storage units. That's it! I got a very good quote, but was apprehensive because they didn't ask for more details. They arrived right on time, even-though they had to make a detour. There were 7 men and 2 trucks. The guys were professional, courteous and very hard working - the day was 92 degrees and humid. It made no difference. These guys hustled!! Bob, Mike, John, Dan, Lou, Pete and Scully - a great crew. We explained our priorities and they got right to work. Our quote was for 7 hours, they finished in 6, saving us both money and time. We had our house back an hour early to start that dreaded unpacking. Nothing was broken, lost or scratched. NOTHING!! On this hot sweaty day, they didn't even get those dirty sweat smudges on any of the walls. I can't say enough about the service provided by B&K Movers - from the ease of getting a quote and scheduling to the last piece of furniture put in-place. I've highly recommended them to my daughter's boyfriend. Once you use them, you'll never use or recommend anyone else.

Nice guys, very careful. Made sure we were happy throughout the move. Had us do a walk through with them at the end to make sure everything was in tact and in the place we wanted it. I also liked that the owners son was one of the workers.
