B & K Moving & Hauling

The entire move was a nightmare, They were over an hour late getting there. The truck was too small to hold everything because they would not come out to give us an estimate. He said he knew the size of the house and he had moved people before. We had to go and rent a U-Haul truck to move the rest of our things. They started at 9:30 in the morning. At 9:00 at night, we threw them out of our house even though they were not finished. We had told them ahead of time that we had a piano and that we wanted it put down the basement in our new house. The day of the move, they said they knew nothing about the piano. When they got to the new house and were trying to put the piano down the basement, they were using foul language, saying the house was cheap. They put a hole in the wall with the piano. I could go on and on. It was awful. We called the owner and he said he couldn't come to the house because he was busy. $1400.00 and paid only $1000.00. Moving is stressful enough, but they made it so much worse. I would NEVER use them again!

They were able to promptly schedule me and meet my needs. Tom P, the driver, and his crew were great. They did the work quickly and professionally with a smile. I highly recommend them, and in fact, have scheduled them to move the remaining stuff in my home so I can paint the entire inside of my home and put in new flooring.

The move could not have been smoother. My husband even had them move some of the contents of our fridge, including eggs which were completely fine post move, now that's saying something. I was really impressed by the care they put into ensuring that a.) they wouldn't damage our beautiful and newly redone hardwood floors and b.) our possessions. They were a great group of guys that did exceptional work. Hopefully my husband and I won't be moving again anytime soon but if we did, I wouldn't think twice about hiring them again.

After two bad experiences with other movers, a friend suggested this site. I looked for movers with good ratings and picked these guys first. The owner contacted me within a few hours of me leaving a voice mail. I explained what I needed and gave details of the other experiences. He said that I would not experience that (the other people gave no contact and canceled my move without notice, twice) and detailed what they would provide. He was very thorough and professional. The two movers he sent out were on time, good natured, strong, professional and just wonderful guys (Billy and John). They moved my heavy furniture as though they were made of paper, very easy. There wasn't a dent or scratch on anything and they moved my items where I wanted, despite having to carry stuff over damp grass and bushes. They even put down a packing rug on the basement stairs as they were worried they would track mud in (because of course it started raining the second they got there, ha). I would HIGHLY recommend this company, it's family run and they do NOT farm out their moves to a sub contractor. Constant communication and professionalism is what will make me use this company for any future moves. Thanks Bob! :)

My ex used B&K in 2013 to move to a new townhouse and all went well with that move. When I was ready to move, I called B&K given their rating and my ex's experience. I could not be more pleased with the service. They moved some rather heavy pieces of dining room furniture and some bulky bedroom pieces with ease. The team of three worked well together and communicated with each other as the deftly maneuvered around walls and through hallways. No damage and 90% of the boxes ended up where they needed to be and the ones that didn't were a result of poor marking on my part. The most ironic thing...when they pulled up to my new house...they chuckled because they had just moved the sellers to PA a few weeks prior. Highly recommend...although I have NO desire to move again in the next 20 years!

Very satisfied. John & John were able to navigate a very heavy and cumbersome wardrobe through a narrow hallway, over a railing, down stairs and out of the house without incident. They were very careful not to do damage to walls and railing. They were very professional, courteous, and pleasant.

Several issues with this company that individually would not seem significant but together significantly affected my satisfaction. * The cost was a bit higher than the estimate due to moving crew taking longer than the two previous moving companies I had used to move the same items. It was a hot day, and the crew did take a number of breaks. *A number of boxes and other items were left behind by the crew, including items they unpacked. These items were left after the crew asked me to identify any other items that should be packed. *There is a 6" scratch in the hardwood flooring in the new house and several other scrapes/ scuff marks. *The washing machine was broken during the move - the wash tub is unbalanced and will need to be repaired or the entire unit replaced *The dining room table is covered with a sticky substance. Based on the spray pattern it looks like a soda sprayed on the table *A number of small, minor items were literally thrown on the floor and left behind The crew was nice and offered to help with rearranging furniture and relocating other items while we unloaded. Other than the above items, the move went fairly smoothly until the end when I mentioned some of these items and received a curt reply along the lines of " we didn't do it, and even if we did this waiver says we don't pay for it."

They are great. I found them through Angie’s List. I think it is a small, local company. They are good. They arrived on time and the job was done efficiently.

Of note, we had significant accumulation of snow on the day preceding the move, which was in mid February, 2014. The resultant ice made it impossible for their truck to clear a hill in the driveway that we shared with 2 other homes. These movers preferred to reschedule for the sake of safety. They did agree to return for another try on the same day after we salted the area; we were anxious to not delay the move. Despite a heavy load of rock salt, it still took them many attempts to scale the hill. They were eventually successful, and were very patient about it. One of our former neighbors just happens to be a rather unfriendly and miserable person (hence our wish not to postpone the move). He was predictably unreasonable regarding the presence of their large truck in the shared driveway, despite having agreed to the date and time with plenty of prior notice. He was verbally abusive, despite the fact that his access to the street was not at all affected. These guys took his verbal gruff (and accepted our profuse apologies) without any unpleasant retorts. Nice guys, great movers! Highly recommend.

B and K movers were excellent. They were very professional and extremely hard working. They kept moving through-out the time they were there. I cannot explain how much I appreciate the work they performed.

We've used B&K for several local moves over the past five years, and each time the service was flawless from start to finish, well-organized & pricing honest & reasonable. The crews were the prompt, hard-working, FAST, courteous, adept problem-solvers, and top-notch in every way. Really above & beyond the call! Highly recommended!

Everything went well but they promised 3 movers and only 2 came

Great. Very professional. Have used them 3 times now.

The move into storage was completed in 8 hours due to having to make 2 trips. Everything went very smoothly. The move from storage to the new house was also completed in 8 hours despite the drama of a burst sprinkler pipe in the storage unit. The guys completed the loading in record time through 3 inches of water on a 30 degree winter day. The guys saved most of our belongings from the rising water and completed the unloading of the trucks at the new house with cold wet feet and pants. Even with wet feet, they were professional through the whole process and did not complain nearly as much as I did. I highly recommend the crew from B&K for any move.

B&K were prompt and professional. We hired them based on my mother-in-laws recommending. The contract stated that they would bring one truck and three movers. On the day of the move they showed up with 4 movers. This was not a problem considering the temperature for the day was expected to reach close to 100. They charged us an extra $100 for the extra man. The move went as good as any move can go. They were courteous and had no problems when we asked them to move certain things first or gave them special direction. Over all I would recommend them again to anyone who was going to move.

The service provided was good. They were really professional, on time and took good care of our items to prevent damage.

After Home Depot failed to install a washer and dryer, we called B&K to help move them into place. B&K came out the same day after finishing another job and immediately figured out how to move the appliances into place. They helped figure out how to use the space and went above and beyond helping us in a tight spot. B&K was responsive and professional and we highly recommend them and will use them again.

Showed up on time and did a great job. Made sure to get everything from the house even if we didnt pack it properly. I was 8 months pregnant and made our move so much easier!

The movers arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and re-positioned the furniture where we wanted it - and, in the case of a few items, re-positioned them slightly when requested to do so. And did so cheerfully! They handled all pieces carefully. I would hire them again to do the same kind of work, absolutely.

So sad they could not help but cannot say not to use them.

B & K was very professional and careful with our moving needs. There were 3 men and a truck and they had to not only move us from our house to our new home, but also moved some things back to the old house, where our kids were moving in. Moved several large items out of storage and into new home.

I had a really bad experience with them. They have broken furniture's of ours. We had police report done and everything. We tried to get them to court and they basically lied. They were absolutely horrible. We're trying to get reimburse and within the last six months we finally just gave up and stop taking reimbursement on the issues that have gone. They were just to move everything. We have everything already boxed. They just broke objects to make it fit. They guy tried to glue to put it back together. The worst thing that they did was my daughters crib. We told them that we were gonna take it apart and they told us that they would take care of it. What they did is they ended up breaking the crib and when we got to our home they took glue and glued part of it and never told us. One time when my daughter was sleeping in her crib, the crib fell apart and when we looked at it there was glue on the wood and there was big cracks in it that were not in there when we moved in.

They were prompt, fast and they worked hard and were pleasant but they put things into boxes and the storage unit so quickly and haphazardly that there was a significant amount of damage when it was unpacked four months later (still going through the boxes and assessing the damages before making a claim with them). Damage to furniture, ceramics and other types of objects; the poor packing of the storage unit is indicated by an antique cast iron fireplace surround that amazingly got broken into three pieces.
