Many were not interested in a small job - Helm not only was able to do the work quickly, but the result is beyond expectations! Much nicer than anticipated. While they were at my home, they noticed a gate was loose and just fixed it before they left - no additional charge! We have used Helm for various fencing jobs over 15 years - always the best price with excellent quality and workmanship!

Had to call 6 imtes to get someone out to repair gate that was already splitting after a few weeks. Finally came and repaired in poor fashion that won't last. Gate would not close.

They were great and very prompt. The gentleman who came out was Steve and he did a very great job communicating and staying on top of the job.

I cant say enough good things about Helm Fencing. The owner personally came to our home to do the estimate. From start to finish the crew was professional and thorough.and when they encountered an issue with the installation they assured us they would stay until the job was completed.. !

We did not use Helm Fencing because their estimate was significantly higher than another company we ultimately chose to do the work. Having experience with negotiations, I felt that asking them to reduce their price by 20% to match a competitor was not the right thing to do (if they had that much "fat" in the job, they would have lost all credibility matching the other company's proposal). As a result, my wife and I chose a company that quoted the lower (but not lowest) price and had a multitude of positive comments on Angie's List (Mainstreet Fencing).

It's an expensive fence. It goes all around our back yard which is a half acre and has 2 gates. I definitely recommend Pete Helm. I had a problem with one part of it, he came out personally and made it right. The guys had to work in mud. It was spring and it rained so much, we were pretty much under water. They were slopping around in thick mud to install the fence, but they did it and I was really impressed. Each pillar had to be put into concrete so it wasn't easy. This fence will last for eternity.

I discovered Helm Fencing by driving by their office on the way home from work, and later found they had an A+ rating with the BBC. We did not know about Angie's list at that time. The Owner Peter Helm was very courteous, and knowledgable, when speaking when I stopped by to make an appointment for them to come to the house to provide and estimate. And Peter gave an even better impression by coming to do the estimate and speak with us himself. He provided various options, and advised us about which types of products to use and avoid to maintain the fence. In addition, when we mentioned our future thoughts of adding an arbor to the end of the fence and connecting it to the house, he suggested that it would be in our best interest to install the arbor first and then finish the fence section afterwards. His estimate of $1,780 was very fair for the 72 ft of 6 ft high 1 x 4 red cedar domed top solid board fence with gothic 4x4 posts, and was appreciatively lower than the original contractor we were considering. Although we were a bit worried that they would be able to schedule the fence to be done before our party, they got it in a few days before, and did an excellant job. with both the installation and cleanup, with the barest minimal disruption to the yard. Although his final cost of about $1,900 was higher than the estimate, that was only due to the additional cost of removing the exiting fence sections. Peter did tell us what the cost would be during the estimate, but we only decided to pay them to remove the fence afterwards, as we realized that we just didn't have the time and energy to deal with it ourselves as we thought we would during the estimate. We have nothing but good things to say about our new section of fence, and we have since have received numerous praises about the fence and how much it add to our yard from people who have seen the yard without the fence, as well as those who have only seen the new fence installed. Peter Helm and Helm Fencing is definitely a company I would do business again for any future fencing needs, and my wife and I highly recommend them to everyone.

/The overall experience was quick and easy. They came when they said they would and finished in less than a day. The men were courteous and respectful of our property.

When the gate and portion of fence was initially installed, the gate was hung improperly and several pieces of fencing were damaged. I asked the installer to correct the problem but he refused. I contacted the company owner, Pete, who came to inspect the work a couple of days later at which time he promised the problem would be corrected and that he, himself, would be doing the work. Since then, over the course of more than 6 months, I have placed several calls inquiring about when the work would be corrected. I have repeatedly been told "you are on the project list". During my most recent call,a Helm employee, Michael Zumstein, informed me he thinks it best "we cut our losses" and that the improperly hung gate and damaged fence pieces will not be fixed. I asked to speak to the owner but my request was refused and Michael Zumstein became extremely rude. I requested the owner return my call; my call has gone unanswered. I am extremely displeased with the quality of the work that was done, with the unwillingness to address a problem that was created by Helm and by their complete lack of customer service.

WENT WITH THIS COMPANY AS WE HEARD THEY WERE VERY RELIABLE AND HAD A GOOD REPUTATION IN THE COMMUNITY. VERY PLEASED WITH RESULT, TOOK TIME TO EXPLAIN VARIOUS FENCES AND PROS AND CONS OF EACH AND UNDERSTOOD OUR NEEDS.
