TONKA MOVING AND STORAGE

Estimate was professional by Alex and Alan. The leader of the packing (and moving) team complained about how much there was to do when they first arrived, but they got to work and worked a very long day. I bought them gatorade and lunch, which was appreciated. They could have worked faster but they did work consistently. One of the four team members was not as experienced as the others and spent too much time packing items that were not actually likely to be damaged. They stayed past midnight to get the job done in one day however. The next day they also arrived on time and worked very hard. Very courteous. The poor guys had to wait about an hour after the job was done while Alex figured out the final bill, which was a few hundred dollars higher than the estimate.

Our experience with Tonka was a complete disaster. They were late showing up, they showed up without enough packing materials (they ended up packing some of our belongings in boxes my doorman had to get). They took double the amount of the estimated time to complete the move. They also damaged several pieces of furniture during the move out of their sheer negligence. It was a nightmare. And, they have taken no responsibility for their negligence. Next time, I'll rent a U-Haul!

Tonka has always been excellent. We have actually used them for 4 moves now and they have never broken anything, have always come in at or below their estimate, have been on time, courteous, and quick!
