+ -1 moreThe plumber that we usually go with is Jay Hyman One Source Plumbing. He is excellent. He is very responsive he gets right back to you. Generally his fees are very reasonable. His work is very quality work. The main thing about him is that he always gets back to you right away and he generally seems very available.

+ 0 moreThe job went very well. That morning we had our spring check-up for our air conditioning unit. The service tech. noticed that there was an opening in the exhaust pipe from the hot water heater. He told us to call a plumber as soon as possible to get it fixed. We called Jay, told him the situation. He said he would be at our house in one hour. He was very prompt. However, while he was on the way over, we had a power failure.and he had to do the entire job by flash light. Not an easy thing to do. He did a great job.
Description of Work: replaced the elbow of the exhaust pipe from the hot water heater into the chimney. The elbow was partially opened allowing exhaust gases to get into the house. He then had to re-cement the chimney where the elbow went into.

+ -1 moreMy valve was buried and he had dig in the yard to replace it. It went great and this is the second time that I used him. He is good. Once he is there he is awesome. Sometimes you have to wait to hear back from him.
Description of Work: He replaced my main shut off valve. He also unclogged a tub for me.

+ -1 moreThey came out and gave an estimate but their prices are three times higher than anyone else. I remodeled the kitchen and needed some plumbing work done. The contractor stated that he was going on vacation and would not be back for a week. After seeing the price and him not available it pretty much sealed the deal. She felt like he was just trying to pay for his trip.
Description of Work: I used Jay Hyman Plumbing for an estimate on plumbing work in the kitchen. She wanted her sink moved and some plumbing arranged for putting in water lines for refrigerator and dishwasher.

+ 0 moreOverall, it did not go well! The subcontractor that Jay sent out was unable to clear the drain. The drain cleaner blamed that on the fact of a "collapsed pipe" that was strangled b roots. How could he know that without being able to see it? Then Jay gave me a 5000 + quote also without seeing the problem! On the other hand, he was very responsive and fair about sending the check back.
Description of Work: I called One Source and Jay Hyman based on the great reviews here. He was very responsive, always answered his phone or called back immediately. My problem was a clogged outdoor drain. Jay sent a guy out that specializes in drain cleaning but in the end, the drain cleaner was not able to do the job. However, he did charge me! He wanted to charge me $175 but Jay had quoted me less and I had an Angies List coupon so I paid $110. When I asked for a refund, Jay agreed to send me my check back and asked that I think about paying something for the drain cleaner's time.

+ -1 moreJay was very responsive and friendly on the phone and in person. I was relieved to find out that it was not as serious a problem as I had thought it might be and Jay made it clear that he was trying to solve the problem in a way that would be the most economical for us. He both fixed the problem and resolved my anxiety, all in about an hour. I was very happy with this experience and would highly recommend him.
Description of Work: We had a leak in the basement of a small apartment building we own and had determined it came from a waste pipe. I called Jay Hyman and he came out in under an hour and a half. He determined that the pipe hadn't broken but was blocked. He had indicated that he would need to call his crew in to work on it, but instead stayed and did the work himself, clearing the blockage and solving the problem.
