David Newmiller Chimney Sweep

Dave was courteous, showed up exactly on time, and did an excellent job. We had just moved in and he explained some chimney basics to us as well. He charged us exactly what he'd told us he would over the phone.

I never saw them. They came to do the job and left a bill on the door. Very reasonable. I was very happy with them. They actually came a day before they said they were.

The quality of his work was good. I would recommend him. He was courteous and kind when he was here. I would use his services in the future. He was professional while he was here. He cleaned up after himself.

I asked for a chimney inspection and cleaning as part of a visit to clean/repair gutters. Due to height/location of chimney he had to come back with a helper to do this. I did not near hear from him but when about ten days later he answered my call and indicated that he had done the inspection and that the chimney liner for the furnace was cracked and pitted, needing a replacement. This was not a surprise since it was noted as something to watch when the chimney was inspected several years earlier. Quote was around $1700. I gave the go ahead and the work was scheduled for about ten days later. The lining was installed in about 2-1/2 hours but there was a problem with the size of the new cap. This was completed a a few days later. Despite the fact that it took four visits and several phone calls to keep things moving I was pleased with the result. Workmanship was good and the work area was left very clean and tidy.

We are giving up after calling for the past 5 weeks to schedule a gutter cleaning/repair and having 3 appointments missed. No one called, no one showed up, no one followed through. Worked with this professional last year, all good results. Every call came from me and because of the good work last year I was patient. I was told there was illness, so I offered well wishes and waited and checked in every week. But no one ever showed up or called. Last appointment missed was today. If there was illness, my full sympathies. But most of us do at least call to say that we cannot show up.

He came out and inspected the work. I ended up not having to have any work done. I offered to pay him for his time but he said he didn't do any work.

Our phone calls were returned quickly and we were very happy with the cleaning and the repair.

Mr. Newmiller returned our initial phone call in 24 hours and was able to schedule the chimney cleaning within 10 days. He was very professional, arrived promptly and took about an hour to do the work.

David was very professional, courteous, clean and reliable. He made sure to call before he came each time. He had to do some minor repair work before he could install the damper, which was no big deal to him. He really seemed to do a nice job and was mostly concerned that our needs were met and that we were satisfied. He was willing to go the extra mile to get the job done right.

Courteous and responsive in setting the appointment time. Arrived promptly and completed the job within a half-hour.

I called to schedule an appointment. He asked me what time was convenient for me. David showed up exactly on time, quoted me a price and got right to work. As soon as he discovered the problem with the gutter coming away from the roof (and showed me the proof of the problem where my plants had been killed in my garden), he told me how much it would cost to fix it as well. He did a thorough job, used upgraded parts from what was already on the house, cleaned up after himself and presented the bill which was to the penny what he quoted. He was prompt, polite and professional.

Mr. Newmiller is efficient and pleasant. I didn't tell him I had 2 flues so he had to go get another chimney cap to complete the job. He was very nice about the additional trip back.

The estimate was scheduled 4 days, after my initial call. Mr. Newmiller was prompt with his arrival. He reviewed in detail what needed to be done. Upon accepting the proposal the work was completed, within a few days. During the installation of the gutter guards in the front of the house, Mr. Newmiller recognized a problem with the roof. Mr. Newmiller told us that he wasn't licensed to do roofing work, but he told us exactly what needed to be done. As a result of the roofing problem, Mr. Newmiller suggested that we hold off on the installation of the gutter guards in the front of the house. Once the roof was fixed, we called Mr. Newmiller and he arrived the next day, to install the gutter guards on the front of the house. We were very pleased with our dealings with Mr. Newmiller and we would definitely utilize his services in the future.

I really liked David very much. He was very punctual, highly knowledgeable, and he does not miss a thing. You can tell he is quite meticulous about the work he does and he does not try to cut corners. His prices are fair and the level of expertise you are getting when you hire him is quite impressive. I will absolutely use him in the future not only for chimney work but also for gutter work. He is fabulous.

The whole thing was not a very big job, but they did an excellent work. We were impressed with the quality and the way that they were able to correct our situation in such a short amount of time.

Excellent service. He came by very quickly (within two hours of my initial contact) and took only about an hour to complete the job. Did a thorough job, including on a difficult inside corner that required him to climb across the (steep) roof.

I got frustrated with a gutter guy listed by Angie's List. He never returned my two calls. That was strange because he installed new gutter guards on our home last fall. So I checked Angie's List and saw David Newmiller. He had sufficient number of reports and awards. So I called him. He was able to come 2 days later to do the work. He came earlier than scheduled, to our delight. He looked over the roof and our living room chimney. Then he wrote an estimate invoice for $80 to clean the gutters. He said our chimney was clean, with no need to do work. He was professional and courteous. Because of so many trees lining our property, I thought it would take 3-4 times per year to clean. He said two times per year would be enough. What an honest guy! I would definitely hire him. That is the other gutter guy's LOSS!

It went very well. He came at the time he promised and did a good job.

David was extremely professional. Even though I am outside his typical service area I thought I would reach out to him because of the glowing reviews. He did not disappoint. He was in constant contact and let me know that he would be unable to make the appointment we initially set. He called me the following day to reschedule. He was prompt, professional, and VERY easy to deal with. I'm considering inviting him back to inspect my chimney and heating system this fall.

My chimney cap blew off in a storm. Called David one afternoon and he was available to come in early the next morning. Showed up on time, gave an estimate, and put on new cap then and there. Also swept chimney. Inspected my other chimney and gave advice on various things, such as roof. Pleasant experience.

I called Dave for an estimate which he provided upon inspection of my gutters and chimney. He said he would return the following week on Tuesday or Wednesday to do the work. He appeared on Friday to install the chimney cap and clean the gutters. He said he had to order a repair piece to fix the broken gutter corner and would return the following week to complete the repair. He did not return the following week so I called him. He said he would be at my home that afternoon to complete the repair which he did.

Great - Advised that fireplace chimney is in good condition but needs a cap - heating system chimney needs relining - looked at a wood burning stove in the basement. Will call with price for chimney relining.
