To put everything in writing would take several pages of paper and a couple hours to write. We got estimates from 3 builders and Yingst was the lowest. I had a home design from a book that I made changes to and told them exactly what I wanted. I told them I wanted the house 2 feet wider on both floors and pointed out that the upstairs had a 2 foot overhang and was 2 feet wider than the downstairs. After they gave us a price and we agreed to it they said, oh, by the way, your plans had the upstairs 2 feet wider than the downstairs and we just made the downstairs 2 feet wider not the upstairs. I don't know how you would build it that way anyway. So, we got jipped out of the 2 feet on the upstairs. I said I wanted built in medicine cabinets and was told they didn't need to know that and I should just pick them out when I picked out the lighting. When they went to put the medicine cabinets in there was heating ducts and wiring behind where they were to go and they told me they would put mirrors up for me instead. I told them how I wanted the powder room and had a drawing of it but they wouldn't take my drawing, they told me to have the cabinet makers do a drawing and the cabinet makers weren't doing cabinets for the powder room and didn't want to do a drawing, so, the people framing the house put the door in the wrong place and I told him it wasn't right. The same thing happened with the placement of the toilet in the upstairs bathroom. I was able to get them to change both, but, I had given them directions to how I wanted both and they just didn't want to listen. When we were discussing what kind of heat we wanted I said I wasn't sure and Bob said we had to put something down to get a price but we would be talking to the people doing the heat and air before they did any work and we could decide then; that never happened. I came to see the house several times during the construction and I saw two young kids running the wiring with no supervision and the cable, telephone, garage door opener and some lights were wired wrong. The house is now 17 years old and I had a plumber come twice this year for pin hole leeks in plumbing. The plumber told me there are 2 kinds of copper pipes, one is thiner than the other and he would never put it in a house but that is what we have. So, I guess I can expect more leeky pipes and wet drywall. The house was done in the middle of winter and with the bad weather they weren't able to do the landscaping so when we moved in the yard had nothing done to it and it was suppose to be smoothed out and seeded as soon as it could be done. I had to call them several times and they finally came in late summer. I told them I didn't want the wire shelves in the closets because I didn't think they would stay up and they said they haven't had any problems with them, well all the plastic clips that hold the shelves are now breaking from dry rot and the shelves are falling down. I have an upstairs laundry room and I was having trouble with the laundry taking a very long time to dry. I had a contractor replace the vent piping and he said they had it going all over the place in the craw space before it went out the roof. There are other things too, but, I think I gave enough examples for you to get the idea. They don't listen to what you tell them. They use poor quality products. They are very hard to work with. I would never use them to build a home again!!!!!!!! NEVER!!!!!

Their quote is a little bit better on price than some others are. I haven't had any quotes recently; but number years ago I did, the folks were offering similar service with higher price. The quote was competitive. I will rate their professionalism top mark. They really have a very good reputation in this area as the homebuilders. They don't do much of the remodeling work; but since people started buying houses, they are doing more of it. I didn't find them through Angie's list. I will be surprised if they don't have good scores because they do have a good reputation in this area.
Description of Work: Yingst Homes Inc gave me an estimate for bathroom remodeling about few weeks ago. They were supposed to replace everything in the bathrooms, except the tub.
