My son's Regal had an ignition switch which would not turn. I was helping him diagnose the problem. We determined the swith had to be replaced. So he contacted 3 shops, one of which was Sheer locksmith. They were the most helpful on the phone and said it would likely cost around $275 to fix the car (including keys), $60 less if he had the car towed to them. The break down of the estimate is below. They also said they did not have an ignition switch for my car in stock and would need to get one before working on the car. My son told them he would have the car towed to them and asked them to order the switch. He also did not want new keys as the old one was working fine before the ignition switch broke. The expected cost was therefore about $135 + tax. Once they had the car they called him and the price magically went up to $308. He was not happy but at that point had not had the car for over a week so he unless he wanted to incur another towing charge and further delay the fix he had to agree. Adding to this despite having told them to go ahead and order the switch when they gave him the initial quote as he was eager to get the car back, they had not done so thus causing further delay. So the car had to sit a couple days waiting for the switch. Once the car was fixed he went to get it, and the price magically went up another $20. The breakdown of the actual cost is also shown below. Initial quote given before he had the car towed to them (and they could hold it hostage) 1 hour labor - $60 generic ignition switch - $75 Two new keys - $80 Cost for fixing away from the shop $60 Total initial estimate: $275 plus tax to do the job without having the car towed to them and two new keys $135 + tax if he had the car towed to them (which he did) and did not have new keys (which he did not want because the existing key worked). Actual cost : 1 hour labor - $60 Making 2 new keys - $80 (he never gave them permission to make new keys and $80 is outrageous as the resistor kits for the keys are less than $10 and cutting the keys is a couple bucks) Use of genuine GM ignition switch - $170 (he was not told that they could not get a generic switch until he went to pick up the car and asked them to itemize the invoice - he found generic online without any problem) Total $310 plus taxes So work took longer than it should have and cost almost $200 more due to them using GM part when generic was available for $95 less and making keys (at an outrageous markup) when he had not given them permission to make them.

I had them come over to open two safes. They were unwilling to speak with or call the manufacturer. The manufacturer could of did an over ride and opened the safe. The owner never called and was unwilling to speak with me about the issue. They kept saying that I changed the locks I did not. I was robbed and that was how the locks were changed. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I did file a formal complaint with the attorney generals office. The provider replied refuting everything I said. They were stating I was impossible to please and they had tried everything to accommodate me.
Description of Work: To open two safes.

They answered the phone promptly, showed up at the appointed time, worked quickly and didn't try to sell us more than we asked for. Not only would I recommend them to others, we had them back to install a security system.

This seemingly simple installation was absolutely horrible . On the scheduled day of the installation ......................................... 1) Technician arrived 1 hour after assigned arrival window without a call 2) Technician ripped existing weather stripping off the door without explaining the necessity to do so. 3) Technician broke a pilot bit when drilling the door jam reinforcement. Complained entire 30 minute repair time about how Lenox tools were junk. All on our dime. 4) Technician installed door jam reinenforcement with all the mounting screws, then decided it needed to be moved. 5) After the reinstall, I took notice that the mounting screws were extending through the door frame by 1 inch. I then had ten (10) useless and needless holes in my home . On the positive, he did come back the next day to repair the damage. 6)Technicain then had to modify the door mortise. He did not cover the floor or move the oriental rug to catch the debris where the locks were being installed. 7) When technician went to install the lock he gets angry about the incorrect backset dimension locks were ordered. (His boss, Mr Shearer ordered them.) 8) Rather than wait around for him to go back to the shop to get the correct item. I drove out to get the replacement while he continued to work on the other lock. While I was there, I explained why I was there to the assitant on duty. And asked for a call from the owner. Never received a call ,thank you or an apology for our trouble. 9) He didn't have suitable weather stripping to replace what he ripped off. He suggested we go to Home Dept or Lowes. 10) Both locks were very tight and difficult to turn. He did most of the filing and adjusting. But by this time we were ready to have him out of our home, we just said they were ok. And we fixed them. 11) When it came time to install the security pin on the patio door, the tech had never seen doors like ours. What's so unusual about Anderson patio doors? The pin ordered (again by his boss) was not going to work. Just keep the scrap lumber there. (Comforting.) 12) Stopped out to the shop to get the weather stripping the same weather stripping that was installed because we could not find it at Home Depot or Lowes. And the person on duty didn't have a clue. I told my story to this gentlemen. 13) Finally received a call from Mr Shearer. He offered no resolution. Not even to give us new weather stripping.
Description of Work: Shearer Locksmith was contracted to install two (2) MEDECO deadbolt locks with door jamb reinforments at our newly built home . Additionally they were to install "shatter film" on a window beside the door and a security "pin" in the sliding patio doors .
