Description of Work: Service Oil Company installed two 100-gallon propane tanks for the new propane furnace installed by our HVAC supplier. Initially wanting a 500 gallon tank, they recommended the two smaller tanks based on their site inspection. They delivered the tanks and filled them. They were on time and set up the tanks in the exact right place.

Description of Work: Called SOC because my Aprilaire humidifier would not shut the water supply off when it finished running. This was the 2nd visit from them for this same problem and I paid an additional $99.50 for this visit. That was in addition to the $375.00 for the 1st visit. Tech rewired humidifier and installed a new air flow switch. Service Oil Co. charged me a total of $474.80 to repair my humidifier and it still was not functioning correctly. Fred's Heating and Air Conditioning (Fred Cramer) charged me $42.00 and fixed the humidifier in 15 minutes!!! Service oil has since refunded me from previous work they had done. This was refunded 1/31/12 they admitted there was a problem and refunded me for this.

Description of Work: Was concerned about a smell coming from the gas/propane logs. Turns out it was just dust from a renovation being burned in the air by the logs. Response time was very fast and the tech was extremely nice.

 + 0 moreThey were prompt, efficient and professional. They were priced well. We have a service contract with them. We have probably spent $5-6,000 over the last year with them. The water heaters were expensive and we have a big house.

 + -1 moreThe time estimate was 4-5 hours and the project fell within that time frame. The tech was on time and got to work right away. He was helpful and very nice. We were pleasantly surprised when the tech was able to avoid drilling out through the house and back in again like we thought he'd need to. He tapped into the existing gas line for the stove, ran the new line, set up the logs, and made sure they worked before he left. He answered some important questions I had (carbon monoxide) and was more than helpful with suggestions and ideas on how to efficiently use the gas logs. I'm very pleased with the new fireplace and with the quality of service that Service Oil provided. Very glad I chose them and feel I got good price and excellent service.
Description of Work: I purchased gas logs from a big box home improvement store in Feb. 2009. My fireplace was wood-burning and I wanted it converted to gas. I already had a propane tank for my stove (natural gas is not available in my neighborhood), and consulted with Service Oil in Sept. 2009 to get a quote. They sent the quote to me quickly and I chose to wait a year simply due to some other home issues that needed more urgent attention. When I called in November 2010 to find out the current price, I was happy to hear the price hadn't changed from the year before so I scheduled the appointment. A quote from another company was several hundred dollars more than Service Oil so it made sense to go with Service Oil.

Description of Work: Cleaned and adjusted propane furnace, cleaned filter. Checked all gas appliances for leaks. Plumber fixed leak at outside faucet. Recommended other items in need of repair.

 + -1 moreService Oil Company arrived on time and the installation crew had a good attitude upon arrival--not just another job to them. They explanined what they would be doing, the approximate time it should take them to complete the job barring any complications, and when finished explained how the unit works and how to make adjustments as needed. I would recommend them for installation as well as for any propane needs. They do deliver propane, a semi new division to the company.
Description of Work: This company installed a Ranai hot water heater for out home/business. They had all the parts/pieces needed for the job. They were very neat when doing the work and even cleaned up some un-necessary pipes that were left behind from a previous plumbers job.

 + -1 moreI didn't want to pay for a new furnace but they made the process as painless as possible.
Description of Work: Our furnace stopped working. The service guy came & tried to fix it. He ordered parts & said he would be back the next day. The parts were not delivered & they called & said they would be back the following day. When he came back, he discovered that it was unfixable. I double checked & got another opinion & they agreed with the diagnosis. Unfortunately, we had to replace the furnace but they did it as quickly as possible so we were not without heat for very long. The price was fair & the service techs were polite, knowledgeable & professional.
