Description of Work: Installed new sliding glass door with built in blinds. I like Pella because it was the only sliding glass door we came across that not only had the built in blinds in the sliding glass door, but also has a switch that will allow you to open the glass and access the blinds if there should be a problem with the blinds. Install went well. They were very professional and the finished product looks nice.

Description of Work: Very poor cleanup. All sills had to be repainted, blood cleaned off walls, Knicks in walls I had to repair. Outside was left with shards of metal and excess material. Took 2 months before Customer Service finally responded despite 3 messages being left

Description of Work: We had more than 30 windows and a slider replaced (hence the high cost above - it was comparable to other vinyl replacement estimates we had done!), over a six-day period. The windows were all properly measured/sized/built so there were no delays on that front. Some of the larger and higher windows took more time than anticipated to install owing to the need for specialized equipment, but the job was still finished in six days (instead of the five estimated). | |The installers were professional and proficient, cleaned up very well when the job was done, and have been very responsive to some small tweaks/repairs we've noticed since the job was finished. Pella's centralized customer service has also been very helpful. | |Would definitely recommend again! The quality of the windows and the size/stability of the company were major factors, and the 0% financing for five years will more than make up for the fact that they were not our lowest estimate (middle estimate of three - about 3% more than the lowest).

Description of Work: Pella has replaced several doors and windows in my home, as it becomes necessary. The original project involved replacing a sliding glass door with a regular door and 2 windows. We were so happy we used them again to replace an old side door, and later to replace the double-hung windows in our upstairs bedrooms. I will go back when I need more replaced. Very happy with the job they did.

The company representative that originally met with us (Hugh Haney), explained all of our options and responded quickly to our requests for many different estimates for different options. We had to wait several months from when we ordered the windows, to when the job was actually done, but when the job was done it was done on time in the amount of time that was originally estimated. The workers who installed the windows were professional, accommodating and cleaned up well. There were some minor defects (a missing handle, a cracked grate) that were quickly fixed. The new windows work well and have significantly reduced energy use.
Description of Work: Nine original windows were removed and replaced with new windows.

+ 0 moreKevin was the most professional of any of the 5 window sales reps. we saw and was able to give me a rough estimate on the phone which no one else could do. He measured our windows and sent his estimate via email and by hard-copy in a detailed form with specifications for each window. This was unlike the quotes we received from other vendors which seemed to be a combination of wishful thinking and pure improvisation. The installation was promised within 9 to 11 weeks and would have been on time but I had to postpone. It was 2 weeks prior to Christmas and I couldn't have the whole house torn apart (literally). The weather held and installation in January went well. Installers arrived as promised and completed the job within the promised time frame. There were 2 subsequent adjustments needed and they were completed on time, the last one last week. Other than a disagreement with the scheduler over contingencies for bad weather, it was a good experience. The windows and door are great!
Description of Work: Replaced all 10 windows in our home with double hung Impervia (fiberglass) windows as well as the sliding door to the patio with a Designer Series vinyl clad French-style slider with blinds inside the glass.

HOWEVER, WHEN IT CAME TO SELECTING FEATURES FOR EACH WINDOW, HE WOULD NOT REVEAL COSTS, SAYING "LET'S LEAVE THE PRICE OUT OF IT AND JUST BUILD THE WINDOW YOU WANT". THIS LEFT ME TO QUESTION THE RELATIVITY OF COST FOR EACH FEATURE, SUCH AS, "HOW MUCH MORE ARE FIXED GRILLES?" AND ANSWER, "ABOUT 30%" WHICH RESULTED IN A BOTTOM LINE THAT LEFT MY JAW ON THE TABLE. TO PAY $1500 FOR A SMALL DOUBLE-HUNG REPLACEMENT WINDOW USING THE EXISTING CASEMENT IS IN MY OPINION, FOOLISH, EVEN IF IT IS A PREMIUM WINDOW. YOU CAN BUY A VERY SIMILAR PELLA WINDOW AT LOCAL HOME CENTERS FOR ABOUT $400 (THEY TELL YOU THESE ARE INFERIOR). I'M SURE THERE ARE DIFFERENCES, BUT A THOUSAND DOLLARS' WORTH? HE OFFERED A 9.9% FINANCING OPTION,OR 0% CASH FINANCING FOR 6 MONTHS. WHEN THAT WAS NOT GETTING TO YES, HE OFFERED 12 MONTHS. I SAID I WOULD THINK ABOUT IT. I THINK NOT, UNLESS I RECONSTRUCT THE WHOLE HOUSE.
