Pella Windows and Doors

Description of Work: Replaced three windows in my living room. Windows contain three planes with shades being in the middle so that I can put them up and down and not have to worry about cleaning them often.

Description of Work: They visited and measured for custom French doors. They gave us an estimate on the spot. We purchased the French doors. The order was placed immediately. It was delivered by Pella. All individuals involved were very responsive to our questions and very professional. We were very pleased with the whole experience, the quality of the door and we will use them in the future. The price might seem high but it was custom fit and the quality speaks for itself. We did not have them install the door but rather used a local contractor.

Description of Work: All of the old windows were removed and replaced with wood windows from the Architectural series. Due to the age of the house, no two windows were the same measurement. Also, the window openings are not square so the installer had to custom fit each one.

Description of Work: We live in a Victorian home and I wanted new windows to match the old. The top window has a middle pane and is surrounded by smaller panes. Pella made beautiful custom windows that look fabulous, are energy efficient and keep the historic look. Install went well- everything put together with trim so you don't know they were replaced. They were expensive, so I am saving up for the rest of the house. But definitely worth it. Kevin was very responsive. Did a great job.

Description of Work: My wife and I chose Pella to replace our 6 year old front door that was installed by our builder when our home was built in 2006. Although the original door was sturdy and draft free, we wanted a more stylish door with more glass to allow natural light into our home. We also wanted a door with better insulating properties and a reputation for top quality. | |When we visited the Pella showroom, we were very impressed by everything the sales rep told us and found the sales experience to be excellent. That's where our satisfaction ended. We expected skilled and experienced Pella installers to remove the old door and install the new door. To our great disappointment, when the installers arrived, there was one supposedly experienced sub-contractor and a much younger individual who seemed to be an apprentice. When we bought our new door in the Pella showroom, we were told the old door could be removed intact and donated to a charity such as Habitat for Humanity. As soon as the installers started removing the existing door, it was apparent that they were simply going to cut it up and take it out in pieces. When I told them that we were told the old door would be removed intact and donated to a charity, they told me that they never heard of donating replaced doors to a charity and that they would not even know how to remove the existing door intact nor would they have the time to do it, so they proceeded to cut the door frame with a reciprocating saw and take it out in pieces. After the new door was in place and they started to cut the moulding to go around the frame, I realized they were using a standard circular saw rather than a mitre saw to cut the moulding. When I questioned the installer about why he wasn't using a mitre saw to get the angles perfect, he said he didn't have one but thought he could do a good job with the circular saw. As I expected, the angles were just okay and not what I was expecting from an "experienced Pella installer." Overall, my wife and I were very disappointed with the attitude and workmanship of the installers. Since the installation was a significant portion of the total cost of the door, we do not believe that we got the value we were expecting from the high price we paid for the door.

Description of Work: Installed a new sliding door in family room. Removed old door. The job went very smoothly from the time I talked to sales rep. and to completion of job. They cleaned up and took away the old door. I was very happy with their work.

Description of Work: replaced small basement double hung with single awning style, eliminates the split and creates a great view of outside....especially these windows were small |Replaced front, back and garage entrance doors...I had steel front and back doors originally but the garage entrance door to house was a hollow wood, this brought it up to spec for future resale. Along with the entrance doors, existing full length glass storm doors were replaced with the hide-a-way screen doors. This has been a blessing as the large window was exceedingly had to replace with the full length screen. Overall it was a wonderful upgrade and Pella has responded immediately to any issues or questions. They are a wonderful, responsible company to deal with.

Description of Work: They replaced two sets of entry & screen door combinations - 4 doors in all. For one set, they measured and said existing screen door could be reused; turns out, it would not fit the opening needed for the entry door. Also, entry door was missing a decorative piece that was on the order form; they had to order and install weeks later. They mistakenly put a nail in the middle of a metal piece, pulled the nail and covered it up w/ caulking. After I called, they replaced the metal piece. On second set, it was clear after installation that a can of paint/stain had been set on the door and left a discolored ring. And, they installed a piece incorrectly that caused the door to rub on the door frame when it got cold; I took it apart, found the error, fixed it and the door now does not rub. Because of the issues, they gave a discount to me.

Description of Work: They installed a patio door. They arrived on time, introduced themselves and removed the old door and installed the new door without a hitch. There was a follow up call to check and make sure I was satisfied with the job and to answer any questions I might have.

Description of Work: Note: We used Pella windows but not the listing you provided above. I can't recommend that dealer since we didn't use them. We used one in Wilmington, DE - I'm happy to give a recommendation for that provided but not the one listed.

Description of Work: Full window replacement. Opening, closing and locking windows is hard, maybe they will loosen over time.

Description of Work: They installed five windows over Labor day. There were a few things that were not put in properly. They were very good about coming back and putting the correct molding in around the window. We are happy with the quality of the windows.

Description of Work: Installed 8 sets of windows with blinds behind the glass.Very happy with the product, but the outside aluminum workmanship was not satisfactory. Had to be redone several times.I would only use them again if they were the only source of the product I wanted.
