We were very pleased with Hummel’s Landscape and the quality of work that was done. Jeff’s team is respectful and responsible. Jeff does not cut corners and provides a beautiful end result.

Jeff Hummel is knowledgeable and does good work.

Contractor responded to an inquiry for services in March 2012 and made two site visits to take measurements/photos, and subsequently, to discuss the initial sketch drawing and attendant costs. Contractor met me at a hardscaping supply wholesaler one month later, in April 2012, to help me select stones, which was helpful.At that time, a change in work order (reflective of material change and necessary trenching) was required and requested. One month later, in mid-May, I asked about the status of the bid so I could send a 50% deposit and get on his schedule for summer work. I left numerous voice messages and sent emails to which I got no response for another month, until mid-June. In mid-June, I received a voice mail response, indicating that because of rain, his schedule was backed up until the end of June. At that time, I requested a prospective start date and the revised bid, so I could send the deposit to advance the project. Two months passed with no response from the contractor. In late July, I sent a final email asking about the status and for an explanation of why the ball was dropped. I finally received a brief reply, indicating the company was "overwhelmed." While I appreciated the reply, and certainly hope it is not the result of serious health issues, a simply one-sentence reply which I ultimately received, would have been appreciated months earlier so I could have pursued another opportunity. Mr. Hummel did exemplify more professionalism than anyone else I interviewed for this work until the complete break in communications. I have to assume there are overriding issues, as the non-communication was an abberation of his performance until that time. It was an unfortunate turn of events.
