We had been having problems with our machine for months. It would shut off regularly displaying a code that indicated the load was unbalanced. It was under warranty. They sent a repairman from another company. He told us we needed a new control panel. It took over a month to get the part and get him back. It did not fix the problem. The Harris technician came over and assessed the problem. He said it needed new "shocks." I told him to order the parts. A week later Harris called and said the parts were in. The same repairman came back, installed the shocks and (so far it has only been a little over a week) it is working fine.

Outstanding, very professional service. Two different technicians worked on our refrigerator, and got it running again. Unfortunately, age eventually caught up with the unit, and we had to replace it. Still, I have no regrets, and will definitely hire Harris TV and Appliance again.

Our Samsung refrigerator stopped cooling due to frozen fan. This had happened before and we had to defrost it. We read it was a common problem with our brand/model, so really thought we would just have to deal with this every several months. Called Harris who promptly sent a technician out. The technician diagnosed the problem which was a frozen drain and fan. He defrosted it, but did not just stop there and leave (he could have easily continued to come out every 6 months and take our money when this happened again). He actually addressed the problem and came up with a great solution, running a copper wire from the heating element into the drain to keep it a bit warmer and prevent the frozen drain cycle from starting again. My husband was very impressed (which is hard to do)! We will definitely use them again!

They came right out and took care of it. They are very good. When I go to buy appliance, I do not go shopping. I go to Harris. They are usually very compatible with anyone else.
Description of Work: I had a repair about a year ago by Harris TV. We had a microwave that quit and it was under warranty. That is where we bought the appliance. We bought quite a few appliances from them over the past years.

Originally the tech took ~10 mintues to assess the problem. Had to order part. Came back, took ~10 mintues to install new part. $59 for original call, $34 for part and $35 plus tax. $101 for 20 minutes work. Usually there work is excellent but will look elsewhere in the future do to the increased pricing.

The installation went smoothly and the two guys they sent were very polite and knowledgeable. They explained how both units worked. The tech guys were very pleasant to work with. After they left and with the purchase price being to good I felt like I hit the jackpot. Being they are a local company I wasn't expecting the good price I got on the washer and dryer. I even did two loads of wash in 2 hours and compared to my older units this was very quick.
Description of Work: After reviewing washers and dryers on the internet I decided to stop into Harris TV & Appliances. I was greeted promptly and the sales person was very knowledgeable. I walked out of there a new owner of a washer and dryer. When I got home that evening I found the price that I paid was the lowest I could find on the internet. They also offered free deliver, haul away and set up because of purchasing two appliances. They came on Saturday to install the units.

The individual from Harner Appliance Service came and looked at the washer. He told me that I was having the same problem as thousands of other people who had purchased this type of Whirpool washer. It was a known problem and he would contact Whirpool to get the part that was supposed to fix the machine. The part came in and was installed but it did not help. We ended up trashing a very expensive washer that we were told would last us for years. We had made up our minds that we would not purchase anything from Harris TV and Appliance again. 9/30/13 I spoke to Mr Jim Harris this morning. He had called to apologize to me about the problems I had with the Harris TV and Appliance store in Camp Hill, PA. He is a very sincere man and was upset that I had experienced the problem that I did. I accepted his apology. I thought that he exhibited a great deal of professionalism to go out of his way to speak to me.
Description of Work: We visited the Harris TV and Appliance in Camp Hill, PA on 9/11/2004. At that time we purchased a Whirpool Washer and Dryer. Within a few months of the purchase, I noticed that the washer started to destroy my brand new towels, washcloths, hand towels or anything that had a nap. I put up with this for a couple of years, because I did not know what the problem could be. I tried putting sheets in with the towels to protect the towels - that didn't work. I was really reluctant to look into service of a Whirpool because I believed all the hype about that brand. I finally went into see the man who sold us the washer and asked if he knew of any problems that concerned the Whirpool washer - I even took one of my destroyed towels with me. He looked me in the eye and said that he did not know of any problems but gave me a number to call Whirpool.. I contacted that number and they set me up with Harner Appliance Service.

I paid half upfront (1/2 of $120), but they told me if the t.v. couldn't be fixed, I'd get $35.00 towards a new t.v. as they also sell t.v.s and appliances there. They said they fixed it, so I paid the other half, took the t.v. home and went on vacation. When I came back from vacation, I turned it on and it didn't work...I NEVER even used it, so really I feel the tech should have just said it wasn't fixable from the beginning and saved me paying the other half, etc. Anyway, I took it back and they told me that they couldn't repair it and then I was only going to get back half towards a new t.v. and not the thirty five. However, when I called them to tell them I'd be in to pick up my refund, they did say they'd be returning $57.00. I let them keep the t.v. and they mailed the refund. *The owner called me and said they are returning the 57 and I guess it was a a misunderstanding about the $35 towards buying a t.v. from them. Anyway, it is too late to get $35.00 torwards a new t.v. from them since I already purchased a new one. However, I did appreciate that the owner called and stated it was a misunderstanding and they do try to please the customer. He said they couldn't repay the whole thing since they have to pay the tech but the 35 dollars was a misunderstanding. I think he will fix the misunderstanding with his employees in the future so that is good. The lesson I think I learned though is that if your t.v. needs fixed, it is probably better to just buy a new one these days.

Geeeezz... been too long for me to remember. We made several purchases from them in prior years and when we needed a tv repair, they told us to bring it in at our convenience. My husband took it in the following afternoon, they called him the next day, told him what was wrong and the approximate cost of the repair. He okayed the expense and the tv was back in our house, completely fixed, three days later. Until tropical storm Lee flooded our game room, that television served as the tv used by my husband and boys to watch sports.
Description of Work: It has been many years since my experience, but I do remember my husband and I discussing how quickly and reasonably the service was preformed.

We bought a refrigerator for our garage. In the winter months the freezer portion was not cooling well. The repairman came out and checked it out and couldn't find anything wrong, and left with no repair. We found on the internet that you need to add a garage kit to the new refrigerator/freezer combos. The seller HH Gregg did not tell us this, and the repairman from Harris was unaware of it. We purchased the kit online and had it shipped to us. Harris came back out and installed it. Overall Harris is good to deal with, but they should have known (or found out about) the garage kit.
Description of Work: Refrigerator Freezer in garage not cooling well. First trip they could find nothing wrong. Second trip they installed a "garage kit" which we found out about and ordered ourselves.

They were reasonably priced. They were prompt. They showed up when they were supposed to. The repairmen did what they were supposed to and they seemed like they knew what they were doing. We would recommend them to family and friends.

The person who came out to do the job was very efficient. He knew exactly what he was doing even though the TV was very old. He actually told me that it was in good shape. I was thinking I needed to replace it. But, once he was done, the picture quality was great again. He saved me money on investing on a new TV.

Diagnosis and replacement was quickly and professionally done. Part was received quickly (2 days) and technician was new his job, professional and courteous. We were very pleased. This is the second time this month we have used Harris for repair. They worked on our flat screen Samsung TV with the same A+ review.
Description of Work: Our Maytag Stove (7 years Old) would not control any of the baking, display or any other pushbutton function. A technician responded the day after we called. He determined that it needed a new electronic module within 15 minutes. A new one was ordered and he returned to replace it within two days. Replace time was about 1 hour.

Overall the experience was A+. The diagnosis, repair and knowledge of the technician was excellent. He was friendly and let us know exactly what he had to do. An excellent return for the investment.
Description of Work: Our Samsung Flat Screen TV (4 1/2 yrs old) would not turn on. Harris was called on 1/2/2013. Technician responded on 1/4/2013. Technician diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes and had the TV working and back in place in less than an hour. We were extremely pleased with the knowledge and how quickly he was able to fix the TV.

We've also used them for a dishwasher in the past. Their salesforce is very informed. They are also helpful. The service is very good. The nice part about the delivery was that they knew what they were doing when they dropped it off.

Purchased a dishwasher from the Camp Hill store and the installation was terrible. When we complained about the installation another person was sent out to fix what the first person did incorrectly. The unit is supposed to be installed under the counter with insulation to keep it quiet. The insulation was not put on correctly. The second person pushed the dishwasher too far back and when we asked about it he said there was nothing he could do about it. We called the main office to get someone else out to fix it correctly, we had spent $1200.00 on top of the line dishwasher and wanted it installed correctly. They did send another person out to fix the job. It took a total of about 3 weeks to have a dishwasher installed that replaced an existing one. About six months later we replaced out countertops and the carpenters said the dishwasher was not installed correctly and fixed it and now it is so quiet we can hardly believe it. WORST customer service ever and the install/repair guys apparently do not know how to install the appliances they sell. Recommend you stay away from this establishment. Also be aware that if you complain about your service to the main office, they will put you on the do not service list - no big deal to us we would not have this company out again if they paid us to come service our appliances.
Description of Work: Purchased a dishwasher to replace an existing one. The problems all started when they showed up to install it.

Member has some very valid points, There were multiple mistakes made with her sale/installation. The two employees who were involved with the original installation both no longer are with the company. The customer also was refunded part of her original purchase price. We apologize again for the poor service and inconveniences caused to the customer.

We dropped off the TV on a Tuesday morning as the doors were opening. They said it would take two or three days and we would get a call. We waited and waited. I asked how many technicians they had. They said 3 or 4 experienced techs worked there.. By Friday I had not had a call so I called them. They said the TV had not yet been looked at and the technician only worked mornings and would be in Sat morning to look at it. I was to call back. I called back on Sat but the tech had gone for the day. I asked why it was taking so long. She said they were busy. I said.. but you said it would take two or three days and it has been almost a week and no one has even looked at it, yet. She said the tech was part time and only worked mornings. What happened to the 3 or 4 techs I was told worked there? After being given an attitude, I was assured that a note would be put on the TV and someone would call on Monday. He called on Monday and told us the TV was not fixable because the part would cost more then the TV. We expected that as a possibility so it was no surprise. Apparently, it was obvious just by looking at the picture screen. My disappointment was the length of time it took to respond to us. I felt like our concerns were just not important. It took less than 30 minutes for the tech to make the observation that it wasn't going to work. It took me two calls and almost one week to get a simple answer.
Description of Work: We had a 32" flat screen TV that had some technical problems. Not sure if it could be fixed, we dropped it off at Harris for repair. We needed to know if it could be fixed and how much would it cost so we could plan on whether or not to expect to buy one on Black Friday or sometime when a sale was on.

Great - My deep freezer in basement shut down, and they came out immediately and got it running again. Turned out that it was a small problem - I was relieved - I thought it was something serious. Asked them if they could fix an annoying problem I was having with the microwave door while they were there and that was no problem
Description of Work: I use Harris TV for all services because they are a full service company: I buy at great prices. Delivered if I can't take it myself. If I need repair they are there for me both in my home and at the store.
