The handyman was extremely professional and kind to my wheel chair bound elderly parents. He made the feel "safe and comfortable" while he was doing the work in the house. He did an excellant job and heather, who was the scheduler was very polite and professional when selecting the work date.

We were really happy with Handyman Matters. They were just very professional and punctual. They really tried to keep the cost down for us in what they were doing.

I was surprised that the girl who answered the phone gave me an estimate over the phone of $170 - $320 for the work I requested. That is a huge range. Then there was also the $30 on top of that. I will not call this company again.

Lancaster area, PA branch: Workman was here on 5 July doing a repair which the previous homeowners setup and paid for as part of the sale agreement. Work was completed and was good. -While the handyman was here on 5 July, we asked if he would take a look at the side entry garage door frame which had some rotting wood. Workman gave a verbal quote of about $200, it would be about a 2 hour job and that we should call the office to schedule it. -We called called twice during the week of 8 July and both times left a message with the person who answered the phone and said they would have someone return the call to schedule an appointment but no one did. Finally, we reached someone on 16 July who could actually schedule the repair. The job was scheduled for Friday, 19 July at 8am. -On 19 July, the workman arrived on time but told us he was ill and would have to come back later to finish the job. The workman took measurements, went and purchased the materials, left them in our garage and left for the day. We waited more than a week and no one called or emailed to set up an appointment to finish the job. -On 30 July, I emailed the Lancaster area office (both the manager and the appointment scheduler) detailing what had happened since 5 July and asked when we could get the job done. I was contacted by the appointment scheduler on 31 July who stated they were under the impression the job was already done. I also asked for a written quote since all we had at this point was a verbal quote from the workman. The quote was emailed on 1 August. I then called back on 1 August to schedule the appointment to complete the repair. The first available was 13 August at 9am. -On 13 August it was raining heavily and I received an email notifying me that they had to cancel due to weather and I should call to reschedule. I immediately called to reschedule and set the new appointment for 19 August at 12PM. -By 1PM on 19 August I had not seen nor heard from Handyman Matters. I called the office and left a voicemail asking where the workman was. I received a call back around 1:30PM from the appointment scheduler who apologized but their computer system 'bumped' my appointment to 20 August at 8AM. This was apparently some sort of computer glitch and she apologized for it and said she notified the corporate office about the issue. We left the appointment for 20 August at 8AM. -On 20 August, the workman arrived on time and completed the repair in the time and for the amount quoted.

I liked their professionalism. Kurt has been great! He helped us remodel the basement too! The office staff is very knowledgable too! I really like them all around! I highly recommend their services.

It went great, it took more time to go get the weather stripping then it did to complete the job.

Finally, a general contractor that shows up when he's says he will and does it as he said he would! Ricky is part of an outstanding group called HandyMan Matters. They will be my go-to contractor for all jobs from now on. They gave me the details of how they do pricing, showed up within the week, and completed the job when all the parts arrived. I couldn't be happier with the level of craftsmanship, the price, AND the responsiveness.

They used non toxic green cleaner and did a great job.

They were very good. One gutter was clogged up, so he wasn't here for very long. I was extremely pleased, he was prompt, knowledgeable and friendly, when I called to make the appointment, they were very nice.

the worker was informed on the problem and was prepared to examine the problem and correct it quickly and efficiently. no more problems. My next call to Handyman Matters, Hbg., is to install a window air -condiitoner

..No details needed, I showed him what I needed done & he went ahead & did it all in a very professional way. He even helped me in how the mirrors shld be displayed.

It was apparent that they had poor communication with "Heather", commenting that they weren't really prepared to rip up the vinyl floor but would make due with the tools they had hammers and small chisels were used. Work didn't commence until 8:45, but was charged from 8 to 3. They showed up at 8, complained about the task, even had me call the installer to reaffirm the vinyl had to be removed. On the rear of the "contract" I signed, Item #4 states: Service Charge: There is a minimum nonrefundable service charge as set forth on the front of this invoice for dispatching a contractor to the work site. This charge may include the cost of items such as booking the appointment, service fees and millage. Upon arrival, the contractor will examine the proposed work, provide a range of the expected number of hours to complete the job as presented at that time, and obtain the customers authorization to start work, which is evidenced by customer signing the front of this contract." This is referring to the $30 service charge they billed us. According to the definition of the "service charge", the time they spent debating with me and the Lowes installer should have been covered by this charge. Instead we were billed for 45 minutes for 2 people standing there, the hourly rates for the 2 workers was $80/hr and $70/hr. There was no mention of bringing a second worker before showing up to the job. There was no clear forewarning that we would be charged two labor rates for one hour of project time. When given the "rough" estimate that ranged around the $1000 dollar range, I referenced the Angie's list coupon that we had purchased for 5 hours of labor. The impression given from the contractors indicated this would significantly reduce the cost. The $1000 estimate was never penciled in the area provided on their contract that I signed, I would have not approved the work if cost was clearly stated before. There was no indication of when the labor cost covered by the coupon was no longer covering the work. Those were the main points. The floor looks good, but honestly if I had known that it was going to be that expensive I could have done the work to begin with and saved the money. I will never use them again

I met this company at the F&M home show. I was thrilled to find a handyman, but getting back to me seemed to be a big issue for them. Later, weeks later, when someone finally did come to the house for an estimate, I responded by email to say I wanted them to do one of the three jobs, was still getting estimates for one and the third was incorrectly relayed to them so I wanted to talk to someone to explain. No one ever called me back, even though I was told they would the next day. That was weeks ago. I finally called and got someone else to do the job.

I love these people. They show up when they say they are going to show up and do what they say they'll do. We've hired Handyman Matters many times and keep coming back. Heather provides marvelous customer service. I can't sing their praises enough.

My experience with them was great. I would use them again. They were on time. They did what they said they would do. We didn't have all the correct tools for them to do what we needed and they made sure that we had it by going out and getting that, which was excellent. I didn't have to wait a long time. I called them and I got service the next day. They were fair in pricing.

Only difficulty was finding main water shut off valve. My spouse wasn't sure where it was located. Once located everything went fine.

It went wonderfully! I wasn't on Angie's list until recently, but wanted to write this review as I've called Handyman Matters for jobs several times. They are always prompt, courteous and professional. We got a free estimate, the handyman was there on time every day as promised (which is huge with contractors) and had all of the necessary tools. Our shed has a lot of trim - cross wood barn-like doors, trim around windows and a cupola. They taped off the trim, used a compressor and then did the trim. Great work and done quickly. I would use them again.

They are very good. As a whole I would give them an 85%. It's a reasonable price.

I have used Handyman Matters of Harrisburg on several occasions before the most recent projects and have always been impressed with the quality of their work. As before, these jobs went exactly as I was told they would even though the weather refused to cooperate on several days. The final bill was within the original estimates. The projects were completed about a half day ahead of schedule. This was a team effort lead by Ricky McCoy who was on-site during the entire process. Ricky was responsible for the project. He did an exemplary job scheduling others to be on-site exactly when they were needed. All of the material was ordered by Ricky. I called the supplier and paid for the material; Ricky picked it up since I don't have a pick-up truck. Ricky and his team are true professionals. Handyman Matters is very fortunate to have this team. My wife and I could not be more pleased with the work done.

From our first experience with them, they did the job quickly...They did not put us on the bottom of their list like many do. The job was done very well and professionally.

They are very prompt and efficient. Their customer service person, Heather, is great to work with in terms of scheduling. The men who did the work were very nice and professional. I have no complaints about any of the maintenance work that was done. I do not know if I'd use them again for interior painting, though. They are pricey for this service. Also, I am very fussy and there are some obvious spots where the drywall was repaired and then painted. When I look closely, I can see areas where the paint on the walls doesn't entirely cover the previous wall color (which was ivory) and some spots where the paint is sloppy near the trim. They were fairly tidy, though I did find a bit of paint on my carpet after they left. Overall, though, it was great to hire one company to come and take care of a multitude of issues all at once.

The person was polite and helpful, and he did the job. It took a bit longer than anticipated and since it was a small job they didn't get to us as quickly as we'd have liked. Due to the price of the service, we opted to look for another contractor to do the rest of our electrical work and other small jobs we have on our list. We found 2 other contractors on Angie's list that are terrific and their rates are VERY good. We were happy with this company's service, but we're happier with the new people we found.

The lights are not snuggly put in place. On some you can see the clasps that are suppose to disappear after the lights are fitted in. Around the lights you can see marks, paint scraped off. The lights were improperly insulated. They returned to fix this problem but there is still problems with the insulation. This is the second time I had things done by them. The put in a front door for me. In the process they cutting the insulation and the knob and lock were not put in correctly. I was told they had changed by a friend so I tried them again on the lighting. For the cost you would expect a better looking final product that works properly. The cost does not include materials.

They had packages that they offered. They were there for a couple of days. I liked them. I think they keep raising their hourly rates. I've used them for years and I've always liked them. They are nice. The handymen are very nice. They show up on time or they will call to let me know they will not be on time. The person I had was very quick and efficient, which I liked. The price was good but I always want a better price.
