I asked Dave if he would be willing to take this on and he was, neither of expected it to become quite the quest that it became, but that's why I wanted Dave to do it for me. NOBODY makes sure that things are right like Dave does and I have the utmost confidence that when I get on the water that everything will go as planned.

+ -1 moreIt went great! A lot of information on how my fireplace works and found that my switch was bad. He also showed me that we had a lot of cold air coming in that could be blocked. He even cleaned the front glass on the fireplace and painted the back plate. It looks like new. For a new home owner like me it was great information.
Description of Work: Check fireplace. He also checked the switch and explained in detail on what to do and look for to maintain my fireplace.

+ -1 moreIf there is anything that Dave needs to work on, it would be insuring all original calls are returned within 24-48 hours. I had to call back three days after my original call to get a response from him. Dave, however, is a one-person operation with no other employees and no subcontractors. In my estimation, once he insures prompt follow-up of initial calls with potential customers, his services will be straight A's across the board. I will not hesitate to contact Dave in the future to address handyman type issues that arise. His work is the highest quality of any handyman I have previously used, and he thoroughly cleans up after completion of the work.
Description of Work: Dave Anthony is an excellent handyman. Knowing that I wanted to address a drywall repair issue before the holidays, Dave and his wife did their best to schedule me within the three and half week window I asked for. The fact that his schedule was packed speaks volumes with respect to his demand and the quality of his workmanship. His repair of an obtuse angled drywall seam that had been unsuccessfully repaired previously was amazing. He diagnosed the problem after removing the original vinyl insert at the seam that had been taped and painted over and determined that this non-load bearing joint would move and needed to be somewhat flexible. He used wide mesh and quick-drying spackling to remedy the problem. The total time of the repair was about two hours. The price of $125.00 was very reasonable. Since I have painting experience, I did not need Dave to return to repaint the two wall sections affected by the repaired seam. Once the painting was completed, the seam looked better than it had originally when I purchased my condominium six years ago.

After looking at the door Dave fixed the problem, which was minor, and only charged me $40 for his services. Dave gave me and honest assessment of what needed to be done to the door and didn't try to give me an over priced estimate of work that would have been done unnecessarily. I would recommend Dave to everyone out there and will definitely use him in the future.

+ -1 moreI have a window in my basement that I wanted to get replaced. They came to the house and were nice and offered suggestions. Said he would get me a quote in a few days. I waited a week and then called him. He said he was working on it and would call me with the quote. I waited another week called and his wife said he would call me when he gets in. I waited another week and tried one last time his wife said she would have him call me when he was in. Again no call no follow up. Unprofessional

Description of Work: Changed handles on kitchen cabinet doors, changed light bulbs, hung new chandelier, caulked bathroom sinks, suggested changes to bathroom lighting, fixed several closet doors, and corrected venting of radon system.

+ 0 moreTook a little while to get us on his schedule due to it being his busy season, but he came out and gave us an estimate, almost fixed the faucet during his estimate but it turned out we needed to get a replacement part. He looked at other things that might need doing (but it turned out did not). He suggested not doing one repair because the cost to do it would be higher than he thought reasonable. Very professional overall, suggested ways to do things that saved us money and produced great results.
Description of Work: Fixed a few things that we didn't quite feel prepared to do ourselves: patching an interior old, varnished door that was damaged, replacing the "platform" underneath the kitchen sink that was sagging, a leaky exterior frost-proof faucet that had no interior access to replace, etc.

He had to come back, there were three visits in total, and he did them all in a matter of four days. I liked the reliability, the promptness and he was very professional and just a nice guy.
Description of Work: I have used Honey Do List & That. He did some drywall patching and he painted it. Then he put up some blinds for me and fixed a blind that was not working.

My favorite part of the experience is that Dave did not stretch the truth or insult my intelligence trying to expand the scope of work needed to make an appropriate repair. Excellent experience.
Description of Work: My garage door was buckling in one section. I called several contractors and appreciated the candor of Dave's wife. He was out on another job and was kind enough to stop by on his way home. Dave quickly assessed the problem and then... he fixed it. That simply and that precisely.

+ -1 moreHe came out on a Saturday and he was great. I had bought slam doors and so he cut in hinges for the doors and door knobs, he did a magnificent job and cleaned up. He was so pleasant. It was $95 for the first hour and $50 for hours after that. He was here for long. He was prompt, on time and he had all the right tools, he cleaned up after himself, did a very neat job and it was very pleasant experience. Price wise I had other guys in here and they wanted more but Honey Do gets such a great rating from Angies List that I felt really comfortable having him home. He was right on time. I am going to have a baseboard installed in a couple of week's time and he is going to doing that.

Description of Work: We couldn't be more pleased with the service we received from Dave. He called us within a couple of days of speaking with his wife (who fields most of the calls). We needed 2 mirrors removed from 2 bathrooms. Both were tricky as they had been attached to the wall with mastik or caulk. Dave was able to remove the mirrors quickly and without breaking them!!! He also offered us some tips on diy that we could do instead of paying to have some items done. We are definitely going to call on Dave again for our next project!

+ -1 moreThe initial visit was to look over the jobs needing done and to discuss procurement of needed supplies. Mr Anthony kindly tacked down a piece of siding that had been bugging us for several weeks and promised to come back within a few days to finish the rest of the work. On the day he came and got things done promptly and properly with excellence. He was very respectful to me as the woman of the house and was patient with my young children who were obviously curious about the stuff being done in our kitchen and living area. What most impressed me was the drop cloth that he put down before beginning work to catch screws and other debris. He also took extra time to make sure nothing small and chokeable was left behind for our 15 month old twins to find. To sum up, Mr. Anthony comes prepared to do his work and there is no wasted time. There is a reason he is busy (he's good at what he does!) and you can add us to his satisfied customers.
Description of Work: We had a variety of jobs needing done in our home: tack down siding, fix a window that was out of joint, change three light fixtures, and hang a few odds and ends. It took a couple of weeks for Mr. Anthony to fit us in, but we are wholeheartedly feel his work and professionalism was worth the wait. In other words, we will be calling again for future needs.

+ 1 moreEverything goes perfectly with Dave. He has great ideas, is always prompt, reasonable pricing especially considering the quality of the work, and is just the best.
Description of Work: Dave Anthony,(Honey Do List) is the first person I call with any and all concerns relative to work on my house. If he doesn't feel that he is the best person for the job, he knows someone of quality and integrity that will be great. Dave installed a sauna in my spare bedroom and had to run a dedicated line to the breaker box in order to power it. As always, it went perfectly and thankfully he was there when the first unit arrived to supervise the unpacking, only to find damage and sent it back. The new unit has been a dream and fits seemlessly in the room.
