I noticed when the company cut my grass, that it had an unfinished look. The grass was cut too high, and my newly mulched flower bed was loaded with grass cuttings. I called the company and spoke to the boss of Susquehanna Landscaping, and told him I had concerns. He defended his company and was totally unconcerned about my concerns. He was arrogant and nasty. He then called his vice in control, John Seymour, who at the time came to my house, and seemed to be concerned about my issues with the work. He tried to explain the grass had to be 3in. in height. But I told him I had azolia ( not sure of spelling) grass, that has been treated by Trugreen, that is thick and needs to be cut fully dry. Otherwise the grass lays down with the weight of a heavy commercial mower. I asked Mr. Seymour, nicely, to ask his workers to use a push mower on my grass. instead of the heavy large mower that seems to only cut a half inch of grass. he said he would talk to them, and we discussed other work in the future, with tree pruning, and ivy cleanup. We had a civil conversation about about e effects of the large high bladed mower. He understood my feelings about, being unhappy when my yard had up and down waves of short and then tall, and then totally uncut grass that was laid down by the huge mower wheel. On June 24th I was off work for the summer, so I was home, and able to see exactly why my grass didn't looked cut properly. The guys quickly ran over my gras with this HUGE commercial mower, that seems to have a very dull blade. They were done the actually cut part so quickly, I had to go out and see the results. I was livid. The grass looked awful!!! Waves of flattened, partially cut, damp grass. My neighbor had his grass cut 4 days before mine, and his grass was shorter than my supposed newly cut grass. I told the foreman I was unhappy with the work. They call John Seymour. John Seymour got out of his truck and tried to tell me my grass wasn't finished. I told him I knew they still needed to trim, but the actual grass cutting had been done. I proceeded to ask him to look at the poorly cut grass. One part of my grass was totally missed because it had a slight hill. The grass was damp, flattened, and chopping cut. John Seymour refused to look at my concerns. What happened next totally upset and frustrated me. I asked him to look at the yard. He refused, and kept telling me they weren't finished. The more I tried to get him to understand my complaint, the more he turned away from me, and REFUSED to even look at my yard. He then began to laugh at me because I was getting so upset because he would not listen to me, nor look at what I was referring to. When he laughed, I told him this wasn't funny. He said to me, "Yes, this IS funny!" I got more upset because he totally disrespected me. Then my husband, finally proceeded to explain our concerns, John Seymour would not even look at what my husband was trying to show him. He stood with total non concern about what we were saying. John Seymour then finally agreed to go in my backyard to see the messy work. While in the back Mr. Seymour told my husband that he explained that I was getting a commercial cut. Which was why I was paying twenty-five dollars. Now understand that John Seymour cut my grass a year before he joined Susquehanna Landscaping. He always cut my grass for $25 and my mom's for $30. The grass was cut much lower and more precise. Otherwise I would not have agreed to use him again. Seymour's Edge, which is what his company was called, was sometimes sloppy, broke items in my yard, and blew grass into my flowerbed, but the grass appeared CUT. My grass DOES NOT LOOKED CUT. MY MOTHER's grass is also not cut. Every customer that I have seen them cut, looks bad. He then while in the back told my husband if I wanted him to use the push mower, he charge me $40. I told my husband he NEVER mentioned that we were only getting the $25 dollar commercial cut. Where they use the big mower. Which doesn't worker better, it doesn't work on the yards I have seen them cut. I called Seymour back to my house to se if h would admit that he never mentioned I was getting a commercial cut. My husband said, "Yes, you said you told my wife we were getting the commercial job for $25, and if I wanted a smaller push mower, it would be $40. Seymour tried to make up deflectors to get out of the comment. But I asked him as a so called Christian man, to admit if he had previously, really, explained that to me in a conversation before. John Seymour had to admit NO. Mr. Seymour lied to my husband. I knew there was a reason why he kept avoiding to speak, unless he was not in my view. I was VERY upset because I had been disrespected, and totally ignored as a concerned customer. Susquehanna Landscaping and Mr. SEMOUR, are trying to make quick easy money out of paying customers, in return of SHABBY landscaping work. Seymour's Edge original customers were traded by John Seymour to another failing company, for money's sake. He is ripping off honest homeowners, who are trying to keep their yards neatly kept. Many people don't know they are getting a shabby $25 commercial grass cutting. They might have noticed how poorly their grass is cut, but never inquired to find out why. I hope this review is helpful to Angie's list customers. I was VERY upset, saw red, and got loud because of frustration. If there are any other clients who have noticed this company's shabby rip off work, please speak about to Angie's list, your lawyers, or Better Business Bureau. But please help us as trusting home owners. I was ignored, made faces at, laughed at, and dishonor end by John Seymour, and Susquehanna Landscaping. I told them this would be the END of their business with cutting my mom's grass. I hope justice will be served to Mr. Seymour and Susquehanna Landscaping. If anyone knows a company that can do good grass cutting and trim for a good price, PLEASE let me know.

Update: Summer of 2011 - the wall failed. Block company looked at the installation and confirmed the installation was not done according to directions. I requested Jeff fix this mess- no response. Spent another $23k to fix the walls. It wasn't going to be worth the legal fees to pursue a small one man show. Avoid this over extended contractor who does not own up to his errors!

Geoff did a fantastic job executing our design ideas and managing his professional and very courteous crew. They showed up on time, and cleaned up each day before leaving. The crew was flexible with the design process, and did not complain when I changed/added a few ideas during construction. Very hard diligent workers who got the job done within the time projected (8 days start to finish- all with good weather). I would not hesitate to use their services again.
