I had a scheduled appointment but they called a little earlier to change the date from June 30th to June 29th. They did a nice job on the parts of the house that they did. There are a few area that they missed, large part on our deck under built in benches and there are still cob-webs on the house. There is also a vacant birds nest on the side of the house that I thought would have been knocked down as part of the cleaning process, but it's still there, which is the same side of the house that the cob-webs and dirt still reside, so I think they omitted that side completely. I was unfortunately not at home while they worked so I couldn't see what they did/didn't do.

It went very well. The two ladies tackled the assignment with dispatch and as I saw the results I kept expanding the job; they assented and went on with the work. They dusted, they mopped, they cleaned the various objects in the room and re-placed them where they had found them. They even cleaned the CD's that were gathering dust around the television. They swept up dirt and mopped and vacuumed all without the usual attendant radio to entertain themselves which was appreciated. I had some specific instructions for them and once articulated they went right ahead and did it. I think that the more specific I was, the better the cleaning job. I think the women were sometimes concerned about moving items but when I asked them to move them and dust there also, it was done. Good job all around. The next time I want the house cleaned, I'll be calling them.
Description of Work: They cleaned most of the ground floor of my very big house as well as the hallways and a room upstairs and the stove in the kitchen.

From the beginning, Spotless Solutions was great to deal with. They not only actually called me back (which unfortunately is not all that normal anymore). The person working the office was very accomodating to my schedule for someone coming out to look over the job, and aware of my hard cut-off date because of a large Graduation party planned for beginning of June. Mike and Dan came out to look over the job first, then came out again to walk it with me to make sure we were all talking about the same items. They fit me into their schedule knowing it was going to be a very large project and the continuous rain we had for the month of May definitely made it tricky. They came out one day and did all the power washing for house and deck (which hadn't been done in quite a few years). When they came out to start painting projects, brought a full crew plus one guy to do repair work on one of the porch posts (which we had paid 2 different guys before to fix problem, evidently incorrectly -- which he then did the first real-quality fix to it for the long term). They were there early and stayed late to get most of the porch done, then back the next day to finish all the trim work. Came back for two-three days to put the semi-transparent stain on the deck. I can't say how excellent a job these guys did. Not only did they hand-brush the entire railings of a very large deck, they also hand-brushed the entire decking so that it wouldn't drip through to the cement work below. Dan was the crew cheif and was extremely considerate. Always checking to make sure I was happy with the results and to explain if something wasn't going to be perfect (which is impossible for a 20 yr. old deck). They came early, stayed as late as possible to finish up my job since I also had a landscaper coming into do work once they were finished. I will have no hesitation to hire Spotless Solutions again to do any other painting/maintenance services.
Description of Work: They power washed our entire home plus a very large two story deck. Then then painted all of the trim working including a full front porch w/spindles and wood interior, front door w/sidelights. Then they used a semi-transparent stain on the deck which mesures 22 x 15 with a roof.

Not able to perform the requested service for 35 days after purchasing an offer on Angies List. After making numerous calls and leaving voice mail messages to schedule the service call, I received a return call a week later from Asaza(?) who kept me on hold for 10 minutes because she didn't recall posting the offer I purchased on Angies List. After she finally figured out what she was doing, she told me the first available date to send someone would be in a month. If Spotless Solutions has such derelicts in their employ in the front office to provide customer service, I can't imagine the abysmal quality of handyman they must have on the payroll. I will be requesting a refund for the "2 hour handyman service" I purchased.

The reason that I could not find your purchase is because Angies List changed the Business Center Website, making it much more difficult to navigate while they work out the kinks in the system. There is no Sales Tab yet. We do typically book 4-6 weeks out, but that is because are guys are desirable and are good at what they do. We would have been more than happy to fulfill your deal. I took a chance with this company, as I did not know anything about them. I trusted in Angie's List. I needed to have them clean my siding which was covered badly with mold on the North side of the house. I signed up with them in February and we scheduled an appointment for 4/19, weather permitting. They called and said that they could not be here until 4/20. I had taken vacation so that I could be here when the work was done. The 20th was acceptable and I understood their dilemma. They had gotten stuck at another very large job. We rescheduled several times that day and it ended up they could not come. They wanted to schedule for the following week. I was not happy because this was holding up my landscaper and I would be back to work. I called and they responded by coming out that very day, 4/21. They always called to touch base and let me know what was going on and were very apologetic about the delay. They were very professional. They put a great deal of time and effort into the pressure washing and were very thorough. They asked me before they did anything extra or would take longer doing something. They cleaned up everything before they left. I was a little confused about the pricing, because of the four hour deal. This implies for one person. Two guys would be two hours and you pay accordingly. It makes sense now, but it thru me off a little at first. All in all I was extremely pleased with their work and professionalism and I would definitely have them back again.

Mike was very easy to work with for the quote and for helping us pick the paint for each room. The workers who painted the house were so nice and professional. Completed 7 rooms in a few days. All rooms look very professionally painted and the house looks new again. They will be coming back to paint another room soon.

The young man was nice enough but that is where it ends. ---He had begun to work before I saw that he only had a portable carpet cleaning machine and not a truck mount. He was reassuring but It is sadly a big disaster. I wish I would have stopped him early on! ---I can still see virtually EVERY spot that was there before. I have had FAR dirtier carpets cleaned like new with truck mount units. This did nothing more than our home machine could have done if even that. To boot the carpets are still soaking wet. It may take days to dry out enough to move furniture back. The machine did not extract the water well at all. My family room has a horrible pungent odor like wet dog. Apparently oils from the dog that we lost 2 years ago were able to be resurrected but not removed. It never smelled like dog in our home when we had him let alone since, but now it smells like he just got in from the rain. Memories I guess?? --I pointed out to the gentleman that we had a couple of stretch bumps in our upstairs hallway carpet and he said that he would take care not to stretch it out more. Now every room in the house has bumps where the carpet is stretched out. Especially Interesting since the family room carpet was installed at a different time and from a different company and is industrial in strength. They also did not provide plastic or foam to protect carpet from metal legs on furniture. We provided them and put them down to prevent rust spots. Any professional understands the need for this. They may be okay for other services but do NOT, repeat, do NOT, use their carpet cleaning services unless they invest in proper equipment and learn more about carpeting. --

I did not hear from this company until I emailed them on 10/29/15. I received a response on 11/2/15. I provided a list to him and he said that all requested services could not be done. So I called a plumber to do those services, and hired him to do the others. On 11/14/15, I sent another email asking if serviced sere going to be scheduled. He replied that he was very busy. Office called 11/17/15 and scheduled for 1/5/16. Since he could not do tiling on this first visit, we scheduled that for another day, 1/15 & 1/18, which lead into 1/19. Since I was going out of town, he stayed very late into the evening to TRY to finish the job. Since I was tired because of late nights of cleaning after the men left and I was preparing for a trip, I did not survey the work well. Let’s begin at the beginning. Kitchen tiling was with basic subway tiles with built in mortar gaps. Not once did I see him use a level or mark off the middle, etc. There were a few boo-boos, but I ignored them. I should have been warned. He then tiled the main bathroom off of the hallway. Again, there are boo-boos. The third job was tiling the master bathroom, and there is the MAJOR PROBLEM. There are too many mistakes to ignore. I have taken photos of some of the “imperfections”. I feel there are too many to correct and the only solution is to tear them down and I do mean both bath rooms and kitchen. I probably could have done a better job and I have NO experience, but I do watch a lot of DIY programs. I do not want Michael Flick of Spotless Solutions to do any more of this job. Obviously he does not know enough about tiling and I do not want to be the one the practiced on, and I PAID FOR IT. I will need to hire another person to tear this down, at MY cost, and redo the job and probably include drywall repairs too. The estimate of new costs should include work tearing-down and putting up new drywall. Besides these issues, I feel there are sever other situations that I need to address. First of all, he used my kitchen sink as a utility tub to clean rags that were used to remove excess grout. And the he left it for me to clean. Not once, but twice. And secondly, he (or staff) used booties but left them when going to their truck or to cut tiles in my garage, re-entering with the same dirty food covers, tracking snow and dirt into the house. He did not put down any tarps along my hardwood floors or carpeted stairs. When leaving for the day, “clean up” was done, but there are still pieces for mortar and caulk floating about the house. My hardwood floors were a mess!! I wiped up after he left the first time, but I had to ask him to wipe before he finally left! The main hallway bath has many of the same “imperfections”. I did not remove the mirror to look beneath. There are probably more!! As I mentioned before, the kitchen does have some boo-boos too, but I really do not want to go through the teardown in there, but each day I see more problems, and that does anger me.. At his full “cleanup”, he borrowed my Windex and Fantastik bottles. I saw that his helper was taking them to the truck when I asked for them…a practically new bottle of Fantastik was near empty when returned. For a company whose name implies good cleaning services, he should provide his own supplies and live up to the name. Another issue I has is that when they were taking down the towel holders, etc. the helper broke the part that connects to the wall. Therefore, they are unusable. I gave him the style number and Moen’s phone number before he left so that he could call about replacing the brackets. I also called Moen about replacement parts myself, they do not carry them. So I went to Lowe’s where they were purchased and they do not carry that style anymore. SOOOO. I had to purchase all NEW matching ones to the amount of $99.47! Guess I’m stuck again!

One thing I know for sure is that Mike himself was on this job and he would never leave a job messy or leave someones house looking anything other than perfect. She was happy with the job when he left and the reason they were there so late is because the homeowner was rushing them as she was leaving for vacation the next day. We have made two phone call attempts to the customer to resolve the issue, as we would like to go out and see the job for ourselves and review. If there are legitimate issues we would be more than happy to fix it. She has not returned our phone. We never had any indication that she was unhappy until now and the work was completed over a month ago.

The pair arrived promptly and confirmed with me the details of the job. The company had already contacted me beforehand and recommended two brands of paint, which I purchased on my own and had waiting for the painters when they came. I had two specific colors that I wanted for specific walls of my space (writing studio). The painters were very patient and took care to match the correct paint with the correct wall. All objects, furniture, and plants were undisturbed. The studio space looks really beautiful. It was a simple job approached with a simple solution, and I really appreciated that. I rated a "B" above for responsiveness only because of a lapse in communication after setting the first date for painting--the company might have been overwhelmed, as I purchased a "Big Deal," and my job was scheduled after the holidays. Once we settled on a new date and time, however, everything ran smoothly. If I choose to paint the remaining rooms, I will definitely use this company. They did a lovely job. This was a completely stress-free process.

The owner was great. Responsive, friendly and attentive. He continued to follow up with me to get the jobs done, which is usually the other way around. He would not stop until I was totally satisfied, which I am. His personal attention to satisfying us was great. We will use them again in the future, very good owner.

The painters came app. an hour later than promised. However, they were very courteous and nice. It was explained that my walls and ceiling couldn't simply be painted over, but had to be prepared. They spent the time putting a sealer on the walls and polyurethaning the doors. Since the sealer needed several hours to completely dry, I had to schedule another appointment for the job to be finished. For this second appointment, the painter showed up on time and spent the whole day sanding the sealer and painting. I was very pleased with the results.
Description of Work: In my kitchen, painted some walls and the ceiling. Also, polyurethaned 2 wooden doors.

The guys did a great job painting. The were punctual and were good about getting the work done in a timely manner. The only issue I had was it was difficult getting a hold of someone, initially, to get scheduled. There was some miscommunication back and forth and we had to reschedule. Otherwise, the service and experience was great. I would recommend them and plan to use them again, in the spring, to pressure wash the house.

I bought the 4 hours of handyman service for $139.00 on October 10, 2015. I e-mailed the company on the 14th of October because I did not hear from them. They finally got back to me on October 14th and said they could come on November 15th. I said ok. Around November 5th, the company asked if they could re-schedule. I told them yes and we re-scheduled another date later in the week. Something then came up on my end and I had to re-schedule for November 25th. Prior to November 25th, I sent them a list of item that needed to be done in the house. The company never asked 1 time to come out prior to the appointment and look at all the items that needed fixed. When they finally came on November 25th, they said they wouldn't be able to do any of the repairs because the company would not be able to purchase all the material and then bill me. I said fine, I had no problem with paying for the materials. The 2 guys went thru the house and wrote down everything that needed fixed. They stated that they would go out and price out all the materials and parts and would get back to me within the next few days with an estimated price. I told them I wanted everything done by Christmas, no problem they said! Nobody every called me and it is December 11th!!!! I e-mailed the company 2 days ago and said if I didn't hear from them by Friday, I wanted a refund. I even game them another chance and called the company last night and left a message. Someone from the company e-mailed me at 4:00 p.m. today and said that I was supposed to go out and buy all the parts and then let them know so they could be scheduled. I responded that there is no way I was to go out and get the parts because I am not a handyman!!!! How would this company think that I could go out and buy parts for everything that needed fixed? THis is the most outrageous thing I ever heard of. If I was going to go out and buy the parts, then I would be able to fix everything myself and not need this company at my house!!!! I have bought other big deals and they have always been great. I have e-mailed the company again stating I want my refund asap. This company should not be on Angie's List. They are a complete joke!!!!

Thank you for taking the time for reviewing our handy man services. I am sorry that you were unhappy. However I feel obligated to explain the circumstances. October 10th was rescheduled due to a family emergency, an issue with my father that was extremely important and needed to be dealt with immediately. Thus because we had to be there through his surgery it backed us up, but my family has to come first. We did contact her as soon as we could, set up a date, to which she changed. We rescheduled again and came out to find her not home and her nanny was there that had no idea who we were or what we were supposed to be doing. After she contacted the customer she left a list, which was completely different than what we had prepared for. All of which would have needed supplies, and cost a great deal of money, and some of which would have needed a personal decision on style. Because of her not being there, I told my employee to walk through and get a detailed list to leave her of the supplies that she would need and to leave it for her, and once she had the supplies we would gladly come back to do the job. We schedule multiple jobs every day and we want to give the most labor hours as we can to our customers. It is important for me to explain, that generally we will go get supplies for customers, however i need everyone to understand this is billable time, so if you bought 4 hours and we have to go to home depot to get supplies and it takes an 1 hour of our time, that is using your time up. We are not in the business of taking advantage of our customers, we built this business on honesty and integrity. However our employees get paid for that time, and anyone who is reading this would expect to be paid for their time as well, especially if, like in this case, you had to drive over an hour to get to the house, and wait while the nanny figured out what was going on. In order for our customers to get the most of their time and money we strongly recommend that you have as many of the supplies there as possible, if you are unable to, we always will make arrangements to get the supplies for you and bill you for the supplies, however we try to do this in route to the job, again to maximize your time and our time. We were waiting for our notification that she had gotten her supplies and was ready for us to come back. Again we were very clear when we were leaving that she would have to get the supplies and call us when she was ready and we would get to her immediately, There had to be a miscommunication at that point between her and her nanny, when she finally did follow up she was so angry and thus i prepared myself for the negative review. I have already paid my employees for a visit that we will never be paid for, I also have to say I was nervous putting out that kind of money for a customer who I have never met and to make decisions on her behalf. We appreciate all of our customers and we want nothing more than to leave every one of them spotless and shining, however despite trying in many different ways we were unsuccessful in making this customer happy. I hate when our customers have to read reviews like this. What is important to me is if you take the time to see that we carry over 400 A rated reviews with a handful of people that despite our best efforts we just could not please. It was the worst experience that I have ever been through. They were so bad. I'm a normal business person and in sales but, I have never dealt with anything like this. I signed up for four hours of handyman services for $139. Two nice young men arrived at my place, and I showed them what I had to have done. The work only required one person. The first thing they said was, I don't get four hours, I only get two hours. Then one of the projects that they were going to do was to repair a bathroom ceiling, where water had dripped down from the condo above. They said that they needed to go to a store to get some materials but we clock out so that I didn't get charged. I went with them and purchased the material for the bathroom ceiling. Then we ordered some parts for a window and they said that when the parts came in for the window, I needed to call them and they would come back and do the rest of the work. The parts came in and I called Spotless Solutions, it's a couple that owns it. The woman that answered was rude. I asked her about getting only two hours, when they advertised for four hours for $139, and I explained that this work only needed one person. She said that I was getting a discounted price and that's the way it worked. The next thing I said was that I had 20 minutes left on my two hours to apply when they came back to do the windows and finish the bathroom. She said, that's not the case. She said that I didn't have any time left. I said that they went off the clock to go to the store. She said sorry that's just the way it is. I told her that their customer service was outrageous. I am done with them and I hired someone else to do the windows. It is costing me an extra $500. I do understand how to deal with salespeople and customer service people. I've been in that business for 30 years, and I can't understand treating a customer as rudely as this woman treated me. All she said to me was I didn't read the fine print and I went back and read the fine print and I didn't see where it said that if they sent out two people, I only got two hours instead of four hours. I waited about two to three weeks for them to come out. To me, it was a false advertising situation. This is a scam, they automatically show up with two people and announce when they get through the door, by the way you only get two hours instead of four hours, even it is only work that requires one person. They only came out once and it took them a long time to come out. The two workers were very nice, it was the woman that I called in Greensboro. Angie's List needs to know that these kind of people can ruin them.
Description of Work: Spotless Solutions was supposed to fix my ceiling in the bathroom and fix windows. It was supposed to be a big deal for four hours of labor.

Thank you for taking the time to review our handy man services. I would like to take this opportunity to clarify the Angies list deals to our customers. We are in no way in the business of taking advantage of our customers, we built this business on honesty and integrity. It is our mission to leave every customer with an Angies list A rated service and leave them spotless and shining!!! A common issue with us is the wait time to get on our schedule... We are very busy for a reason.... because we are good at what we do, and we want to meet all of our customers needs. So when we schedule customers knowing there is a wait we try to cluster them together and accomplish more then 1 a day. This customer was actually moved up due to the fact he was calling from over an 1 hr away from our office and we were supposed to be in his area on the date of service, so he did not have to wait the 4-6 weeks that is usual with our bookings. The most important reason I explain it like this is because we carry an A rating, and we have serviced thousands of customers, and it seems like a couple times a year it confuses a customer. If you are buying a 4 hour deal..... it is 1 guy 4 hours 2 guys 2 hours, it still works out to 4 labor hours and both parties are working at the same time so we can accomplish more in 1 day. So we were in no way taking hours away from him. Secondly, WE stress to all of our customers that we sell a lot of these deals and most of these are over an hour from our shop, I can not Go out to bid every one of these, if that was the case there would be a 12 week waiting period to get to the service.... because that is all i would have time to do, so we do ask the customer, the scope of the project and strongly advise to have as much there as you can. This gets you the most for your money. If you have the supplies there we can get there and do the job that is needed. However there are times we have to go and get supplies.... This is billable time. Our employees are getting paid for that time, not to mention our gas, our time, and our vehicles. No one who works would do this for free..... so why is expected of our guys. This guy told my employees they had to do that and thus he got that time for free.... yet I still had to pay them for that time. After getting that time for free he still felt like he had 20 mins.... Now he feels this way because he did not have the parts for a job that should have been there, SO he was expecting to get the supply run for free, he expected to order his supplies that were not there, and for us to push other people off and drive over an hour back to his house to give him this extra 20 mins. The deals are day of service only we will gladly go over on time if you need us to, however if you do not have enough projects for us and we get done before the time is up, the deal has been used there is no coming back to finish up, WE would love to come back and finish your projects, and because your a valued customer we will ever keep you at the same rate. It doesn't make business sense for us to do things his way, that's the reason this system is in place, is because it is the most effective way of doing things. The final thing I have to say in respond to this review is that after us kindly explaining this to this customer for nearly an 1 hour of our time. HE still insisted that we owed him 20 mins and that we were crooks, after an hour of him screaming, yes we did have to become firm with him and it may have came across as "rude" but I feel that after an hour of trying to explain this to him and him not understanding, i realized that I was wasting my time and I would respond to the negative review he was going to leave us. It is our mission to leave every customer with an A rated service, however sometimes you just cant make everyone happy. Spotless Solutions will keep you shining!!
