When I first contacted sales representative Matt Kemp last summer, I was interested in a hybrid system to reduce but not completely eliminate my dependence on propane because of its cost. Matt detailed my options, carefully explaining what savings I might expect. He left me literature so that I could compare systems and come to an informed decision. Matt knows his products well and inspires consumer confidence both by his manner and ability to relate details in lay terms. I learned that I would not be able to sell back propane in my tank, so I had to delay my purchase until the heating season began and I was able to use quite a bit of my supply. Meanwhile my furnace developed a problem with the ignitor switch, so I called McCrea to evaluate the problem and do the repair. Once again, Matt came to the rescue. He got technicians out to ensure that I had heat before close of day! At that point we agreed to proceed with the scheduling of the new heat pump, the Trane XL18i. I chose the date of Nov. 25 and the McCrea team accommodated my selection. Matt Kemp came to the house prior to the installation to verify details; He was making sure the installers would have ALL they needed to complete the job because I had decided to go all electric with the ultra-efficient heat pump rather than a hybrid system. Matt's diligence paid off in spades. The installers, Chris and Mario, arrived here at the appointed time. They worked almost continuously all day until the job was completed before 4 p.m.. Both men were pleasant and performed their jobs efficiently. They cleaned up after themselves. Chris reviewed the product documentation with me and demonstrated the use of the thermostat, etc.. McCrea allowed me to donate my old furnace. I saw the savings in my first electric bill. I couldn't be happier with my selection. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MATT KEMP at McCrea, and the company for making the installation go so smoothly! March 31, 2014 -- UPDATE I am still very much a satisfied customer! I estimate that I have saved nearly $1,000 this season in heating costs!

THE TECH ADVISED ME THAT A SWITCHING DEVICE (FLOAT SWITCH) LOCATED BY THE DRAINAGE PAN HAD FALLEN INTO THE PAN AND HE RECOMMENDED THAT I REPLACE THE CURRENT FLOAT SWITCH WITH A NEW AND IMPROVED ONE. I OK'D THE REPLACEMENT. I SHOULD NOTE THAT I PAY $11.66 PER MONTH TO COVER THE COST FOR THE SPRING AND FALL SERVICES AND AS SUCH THERE IS NOT A CHARGE FOR THESE TWICE YEARLY SERVICES. THE INSTALLATION OF THE REPLACEMENT FLOAT SWITCH ($145.00) AND MY REQUESTED FILTER CLEANING ($65.00) MADE THE TOTAL CHARGES $222.60-- ADDING IN THE $11.66 PER MONTH I HAVE AUTOMATICALLY DEDUCTED (EFT) FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT ADDS ANOTHER $69.96 OR A TOTAL OF $292.56. I HAVE ALWAYS FOUND THAT MCCRAE HEATING AND AIRCONDITIONING IS A HIGHLY EFFICIENT AND ETHICALLY OPERATED BUSINESS WITH SKILLED AND PROFICIENT SERVICE TECHS THAT REPRESENT THEIR EMPLOYER TO THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITIES, AND AT THE SAME TIME, PERFORM TO A HIGH STANDARD OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT.

I'm building a new house and contacted McCrea along with 5 other local Trane dealers. McCrea is the ONLY LOCAL DEALER who does proper HVAC equipment sizing using the industry standard ACCA Manual J. All other dealers use ballpark figures which will most likely result in an oversized, inefficient, more expensive system that short cycles and wears out faster. Can't recommend them enough.

We have used McCrea for the preceding five years. Every single summer at our prior home, our air conditioning would break down (old system, not their fault of course), and they would come out immediately to help us. Usually they could recharge the freon, or do something else to get it up an running, but always told us to start saving as the system was old. Well, last summer the system finally died. They came out immediately and got it running as best they could, but said we needed a new system. Matt came out and gave us an estimate. He was incredibly nice and patient with us, and gave us several options. With his help, we chose what would work best for us and our small house. Being it was the middle of June, their availability to replaced our entire system was a week or so out, but we were leaving to go out of the country and were desperate to have the system replaced before we left as our two young kids and grandmother would be there while we were gone. I couldn't leave them with no air conditioning! Matt and McCrea literally bent over backwards to get the job done for us. I can't tell you how wonderful it was not to worry about my sweltering kids and mother during our first trip away from them. They went above and beyond. Everything went smoothly, and our new system worked fantastically-even our bills were lower in our small home. We just moved to a new house, and our a/c just broke (I guess we are just very lucky when it come to a/c). I wish I could call McCrea as I know they would be able to help us quickly, but sadly we have to go through the home warranty we got with the house. Once that warranty is up, we will be back with McCrea. I am a very very loyal customer and they have always tried their best to get the job done for us as soon as possible. Also, their technicians are great, friendly and super honest (from my experience).

I checked out several providers, and ended up relying on friend / family input, recommending McCrea's. This turned out to be a great choice. Initially, we used McCreas to repair our old system. This required a recharge of the freon, to get us through the summer, which it did. But we were advised that the system had a leak, in the exchanger unit in the attic. First, Matt, came to our house and surveyed the system. He asked about the performance of the current system, including humidity which had been a problem. He recommended a number of choices, but actually steered us away from the top of the line, as it would not be right for our house. He reviewed the return of investment against the unit efficiency, and recommended a higher efficiency model that would save us money, and correct the humidity issues. He also reviewed rebate and financing options that would be available at the time of installation. The options were well spelled out, including the actual payments and terms. We were able to choose the system, rebates and financing that best suited us. They arranged an install date, handled all the paperwork for financing and rebates. On the day of installation, they covered all the carpeting, and really did a great job of being as least disruptive, and keeping the place clean and protected. When they were finished, you would never know that they were there. Because our house is a modular, the attic is very tight, and the routing of the tubing and electrical was not that easy. No complaints from them about this. They took the time to explain the operation of the new thermostat, and the air filters. The quality of there workmanship was fantastic. The unit is performing beyond our expectations. It has been two months now, and the electric bill dropped by 50%. The climate in our home is now even and predictable. I would highly recommend McCrea's because of there courtesy, professionalism, and quality of work. They are a very good and polite company that truly puts the customer needs first.

The technicians came out and they said that all the Freon had leaked out and they checked for leaks and refilled it. It was $700, which I did pay for but I deducted it from my rent for the going month. In less than a month later, I noticed that it still wasn’t getting cool so I called them again and they said that all the Freon had leaked out again. So they had to come out and do another leak check and now It was going to cost $1700 to fix it. I don’t think they checked for leaks well enough because within less than a month $700 worth of Freon was gone. It should have been checked better. The technicians who came out were nice and friendly though. Freon is expensive, there is nothing they can do about that, but they couldn't find the leak and filled it anyway.

We called for an estimate to install a replacement HVAC System. This was the fourth estimate we were getting for our house. The salesperson was professional, knowlegeable and did not try to sell us anything we did not need, but completely met our needs. The sales person contacted us to ensure we had no questions, problems, or issues before installation date and provided the timeframe and the names of the installers. On the day of installation the installers showed up within the time frame provided and immediately got to work.The installers requested to see the location and then asked which entrance/exit to use. We have pets and they were very careful to not let them out, and were friendly with them. I provided my concerns prior to installation, and they responded to all my concerns before they began.They installed the equipment, answered all my questions, removed the old equipment and left the area spotless. The job was completed within the window estimated and the installers were totally professional. The system installed exceeded my expectations because it has humidity control. My whole house is the same temperature now (even the basement)!!!I am very pleased with the professionalism of all the people that represented McCrea Heating and Cooling.

They have been working for me for years and I have kept up with them. They are very thorough and competent. I would continue to use them in future.

Although i did not end up using McCrea, I was very impressed with Matt, who came out and spent a long time looking and discussing my system. He worked hard to please me and was very, very professional. I would reccommend them to anyone looking to replace their systems.

Matt, salesman, came to the house, looked at the property, existing unit, and suggested the TRANE XL15i heat pump. Went over all the details, explained installation process, time frame and warranty. Installers wore cover over their shoes and used drop cloths throughout the house to protect the floors. Had to pay extra for the 10 year labor warranty since the parts are covered by the manufacturer, but labor is on the dealer. Got touch screen internet connected thermostat, Comfort link II, which runs through Schlage Link at a cost of $99 per year if you want the desktop or cell phone app. After installation calls were responded promptly, and master technician was required to fix issue with new thermostat relay. Overall pleased with the company, would recommend hiring!

Our 10 year old home's HVAC had broken down 5 times in the 6 years we owned the house. When it worked it didn't do the job well, especially in out great room. Oh, and it cost a fortune to be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. We had several contractors bid the job but our McCrea sales rep is the only person who actually listened to us about the way the heating system worked, or didn't. He took the time to investigate why our current system just wasn't cutting it and developed a comprehensive plan to fix it. Other vendors just didn't listen or designed a system to win a low bid. McCrea's price was fair and in line with other vendors once I compared apples to apples. The installer's went out of their way to keep our old AC running as long as they could before taking out the old system. They were punctual, polite, and worked very hard to protect out belongings during a brutal job on the hottest week of the year to that point. The install took longer than estimated and there were a couple minor issues pop up that wouldn't in a perfect world. These issues were all resolved. The worked overtime on a friday night to get the AC partially running for the weekend. On the following Monday, they finished the work and I can't say how happy we all are. For the first time since we lived here it was 99 degrees outside and perfect inside... on all floors. Bottom line, we spent a lot of money but got an awesome system. It just goes to show, hardware's important but the installer is the important part. I will, and have already, recommend McCrea and our salesman Adam to friends and neighbors.

We would highly recommend them. If you maintain a contract with them, if there is any type of problem they will come out right away. They are personable, professional, and reliable.

McCrea provides excellent service! I have used them for sevaral years for proeprties I manage. Their office staff is polite, professional, and knowledgeable. their installers are professional, punctual, clean, and quick. Their maintenance personnel are quick, professional, punctual, extremely knowledgeable,and clean. Their prices are quite resonable.

We have had them since we moved into our house. They were the installers of the duct work. They are fine. I was able to get an appointment within a day. The guy who came out explained everything to me and took his time and checked everything. They are good. They are prompt. I would continue to use them again in the future.

The workmen arrived on time, worked for 7 hours, and kept our house as cool as possible during the installation. (The outdoor temperature was in the high 90's.) They were aware that we have pets and were careful not to leave the doors open for long periods of time. They finished when they said they would, programmed everything, asked if we were satisfied, and left. I expected a whole house system replacement to be traumatic but it went very smoothly. We love the system. It's quiet, easy to run, and effective.

The technician was very friendly and did a good job of going over both systems that we had. He found where our filter was in the attic (which was pretty well hidden) and explained how that affected our heating bills. He fixed some issues with the plumbing of the drip catcher in the attic and explained what and why he was doing everything as he went along. Overall I felt comfortable that our systems are at least working ok now, where before I was not so sure.

I have had them for a few years now and they are outstanding.

The quality of their work is excellent. They request us beforehand to schedule an appointment. We schedule the appointment, and we ask for a particular technician because we like him very much. They always send him if we request him. He is very professional. He covers his feet and walks around in booties. He has even done extra things above and beyond that I really liked.

I was searching for a company to install both a new heating unit and an air conditioning unit at the same time, a major purchase. This company sent a representative who spent time with me, measured and provided the most detailed explanation of what I would need. Small details of pricing and payment made me choose another company. I would recommend dealing with this company though, based on my experience.
