They did a good job. They kept the yard clean of debris. They did everything in a timely fashion and at a reasonable price. They were prompt and cleaned up after themselves. They were just pleasant people to interact with. I have recommended them to other people.

Stoltzfus was outstanding. He did everything he said he would do. The price was reasonable and right on. What he said he was going to do, he did. He did a nice job quickly and efficiently. He was pleasant to deal with. Everything that you could ask from a roofer, he did.

Mr. Stoltzfus responded to my phone call immediately and came to the house and gave us an estimate for replacing our old roof and a couple of skylights. Once we decided to use Stoltzfus Roofing's service because of what we felt was an extremely reasonable price, we were given an approximate start date and then received another call to let us know the exact day they would be here. The work was completed in 2 days. The job was done extremely well, including additional work we requested regarding flashing around our chimney. The two men who completed the job were extremely professional. When the work was completed, the area was totally cleaned up and nothing at all left around the yard at all. We highly recommend Stoltfus roofing as their pricing is fair, they are extremely professional, honest and a company that we would definitely do business with again (and plan to for window replacement)!

When I first got an estimate - which was significantly less than 2 other estimates for the same product - they gave me a time-frame of 3-4 weeks out. When the 4th week came and I hadn't heard from them, I called. They then said it would be 2 more weeks. Unfortuneately thanks to Hurricane Sandy mattered and that extra time frame led to our further repairs of dry-wall where I had a leak. They ended up coming out a few dys after the hurricane which was week 6. They did come out briefly prior to the work to supply me with color samples - very helpful. Once the work started, they were VERY prompt every day. It took a little longer than expected since the last few days only 2 guys were present. I was told this was due to the Amish Wedding Season. They cleaned up every day and were very respectful while here. I had a few screens that were damaged while throwing the cedar off the roof, but they took them and had them repaired which I did greatly appreciate. They did a great job cleaning up the debris, even in the attic. My roof looks great and I received my final bill which was exactly the amount on the estimate.

Sam and his crew are AWESOME!! The entire process from first visit, getting the estimate and having the work done all took place in 2 weeks! Everything was done on a hand shake. The crew showed up at 7:30am, just as Sam said they would, and they were done around 4:30pm. Everyone was very polite and professional. The clean up was incredible. Besides the roof looking fantastic, you would never know any work was done. They left no mess -and NO NAILS!!!!! This was very important to us because we have a dog that runs in the yard.

There is no doubt in my mind that Sam Stoltzfus is the BEST roofer in Chester County. If you need your roof repaired or replaced, they are the roofers to call. After completion of work each day, they left my property very clean which really impressed us. My husband are very happy with the craftsmanship demonstrated by Stoltzfus Roofing.

Excellent! I got several estimates and chose Stoltzfus Roofing because of their fair price and willingness to start work right away. In addition, Sam Stoltzfus answered all of my questions thoroughly and explained the scope of the work in great detail. The work was started one week later. The roofers were punctual, professional, polite, and from the time they started each morning, they worked like a seemless unit toward project completion. The work was finished within one week and the window, which had to be ordered, was put in three weeks later. After completion of work each day, they left my property very clean which really impressed us. My wife and I love the new roof and window and truly admire the craftsmanship demonstrated by Stoltzfus Roofing.

The work went well. It was good. They were very competent. They were clean and did the job well. Overall, they were excellent. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

I contacted Sam Stoltzfuz in the fall of 2010. He came and gave me an estimate for my roof and brought me some samples within a few days of the call. He sent the estimate a few days after his visit... My neighbor had their roof done by Sam and he did a beautiful job at a reasonable price - Theirs was the nicest roof in the neighborhood until mine was done. I contacted Sam in the early spring and he set a date, estimating a few days for the job to be done. The crew came when he said they would, everyday at 7:30 am. These were the nicest, most personable young men - a crew of about 4-5. The set-up was amazing to watch - these men know what they are doing. They worked from the time they got here- took a break for lunch, came back maybe half an hour to an hour later and worked until 4:30 non-stop. While I expected a mess until the roof was done, my property was immaculate each day when the crew left. I am a woman and had a lot of questions. The men were patient, polite and responsive. As for Sam, we began on a handshake. Midway through it became obvious I needed new gutters as mine were pretty shoddy. Sam gave me an estimate for a couple of different possibilities...no pressure - just the facts. I decided to go with the non-covered half rounds. I hadn't budgeted for the gutters and asked Sam if he could work out a payment plan with me for the gutters. He did. . Mind you, my roof was being done - no money up front - This was surprising since I am used to workmen demanding most of the payment up front and then biting my nails all the way hrough the job. Not with Sam. I had no anxiety, no worry. The roof was done in a matter of 3-4 days - rain was an issue or it would have been done sooner After the roof was done, Sam came back a few days later as he said he would and replaced my gutters with another gentleman. Now how excited can you get about gutters? Well mine are just gorgeous! sturdy and beautifully done. I asked for 2 extra downspouts on the top roof - and Sam put them in. When all was done - the cost was as Sam estimated it to be - with an additional couple hundred for wood that needed to be replaced as Sam had explained when he gave me the original estimate. There were no surprises. The roof and gutters cost what he said they would. I like that! Would I ever use Stoltzfuz Roofing again? You betcha - in a heartbeat!

They had twice satisfactorily done some prior roof repair - replace blown off shingles and vent pipes. That work was prompt and reasonable but the roof was ageing so I decided to replace it rather than continuing to repair it after each strong wind storm, so I asked him (and others) for estimates to replace the existing roof. Stoltzfus was one of the lowest* bids but because of his prior work, I chose him. We set up a date (always dependent on weather) and at his first opportunity he started work. The crew was great, worked hard all day without any BS'ing between them - all work, no play and no foul language. Each night they cleaned up the area and the dumpster was gone the afternoon they finished. *Some bids were 45% higher and although I saw similar sized jobs done by the higher bidder in a day or two less time, the speed was not worth the extra cost.

I chose not to use them due to price and availability.

Sam brought three samples so we could be sure to be happy with our color choice. And we were glad he did, as we chose the one that was not our original pick based on the brochure. Started the job just as promised. Very easy to work with - no formal contract just a handshake like the old days of my contractor grandfather and a hand written quote. I would use Sam's company again in a heartbeat. Mike Salomone

Roof has been leaking at the joint since we built the new porch as we did not properly join the new roof with the old roof based upon bad advice given on how to do this. I tried myself to reseal the joint 4 or 5 times with additional shingles and tar but to no avail. Checked Angie's list for reputable local roofers and found Sam Stoltzfus (as well as others, but Sam gave the best estimate). He came out to see the problem while I was at work and called with an estimate. I hired him immediately, he came out about 1 week later and did the job while I was at work. I never knew he was there until the bill arrived in the mail several days later. The clean-up was superb, no traces of them even being there. The roof is no longer leaking and I couldn't be happier with the work. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone who needs a competent and professional roofer.

We had several roofing companies come out to give us an estimate. He had the lowest price of all of the estimates we received. We chose Stoltzfus, and we actually had to go out of town the weekend that he started the work. When we returned on Sunday we saw a completely new roof and clean yard. In just a few days he had removed two layers of roofing and installed the new roof. He also put new gutters up for us. He was very laid back. We were so impressed. My neighbor liked his work so much that she had him out to do her roof as well.

Sam Stultzfus came out to do the estimate. He had been recommended to us by a neighbor. His estimate was lower then a competitive bid and we decided to go with it. They came two weeks later on a nice day, because sometimes their work is weather dependent. They were efficient and did excellent work. They then cleaned up with nothing left behind. The mostly Amish crew were polite and careful.

I thought that they did a very good job. They finished when they were supposed to. They did a descent clean up not perfect, but some scraps got stuck in the tree and they are just starting to fall out. I guess that is not their fault though. The install was done properly. I haven't found any problems yet.

Everything was great with the work the only small issue was that it was hard to get a hold of him pre-sale. I would use him again.

The workers were on time, very polite and very reasonably priced. The entire job only took 4 days. Both the roofing crew and the siding crew arrived in the early A.M and worked all day.
