I renovated a bathroom and my contractor suggested I have Glenside Glass come out and install my shower doors. My contractor has used them several times and been happy with their work. I had someone who had been with the company for 30 year come out on a Wednesday and said I will have my quote by Friday. I wanted to get this moving as it takes about 4-6 weeks to get everything ordered since it was custom. Friday passed with no quote. I get it, Covid and being busy I decided to be patient. I called the following week and was told we will get right back to you.....nothing. A second week passed and I call again and nothing. I can't even get someone to call me back to let me know why a quote that was supposed to take 2 days is now going into 3 weeks. I am sure they do fine work, but they obviously do not value people enough to call them back. I now have to find someone else and wasted almost 3 weeks trying to be patient for this business. Just be warned, they will not value your time or have the decency to simply call and say they are backed up.

Description of Work: They replaced the glass in our shower door. It took at least two to three weeks for the ordered glass to arrive at their location but installation was completed in less than a half hour after we arranged for the install. I have used Glenside Glass Company before and I was and I am pleased with their work.

We had a broken window in our home and were encouraged by window people to go to Glenside Glass to get the panes replaced. It took them a couple of days to come out to assess the job, then almost a week to send us a written estimate (we were expecting a phone call back). When we did receive the estimate my husband went to bing the 50% deposit to them; only then did they inform us that after taking over a week to get us and estimate it would be another three weeks before the work could be done. I feel that it was highly unprofessional of them to withhold from us the unreasonable length of time it would take to get the work done. Its getting to be cold and one of out windows is broken and we have now lost a week (of relatively mild weather) in which we could have gotten this fixed. Poor practice, Glenside Glass!
Description of Work: We didn't have work done, as the time they stated it would take was unacceptably long.

The lighting fixtures on the house we bought were dark and patterned & did not provide any light. I called Glenside Glass to explain the problem & see if they could cut clear glass replacements for better outdoor lighting. They were great over the phone, said it would be no problem, gave an approximate cost, etc. When I went in, the man behind the desk looked at it, and said "We don't have curved glass; get new light fixtures". I had them cut one straight to see if it would work anyway. I was not impressed by the man's demeanor; he wasn't helpful or courteous. He was surly and not helpful. He seemed annoyed when I wanted to get the straight piece cut to try it. Maybe they're better with bigger jobs, but based on the man's demeanor this morning, I wouldn't go back for any job, large or small. ETA: Response to Provider Response - The issue was not that the recommendation of getting new light fixtures or the $7 expense of seeing if the straight one would work. It was the man's demeanor, which was surly and verging on nasty. The person who answered the phone was very courteous while the person I dealt with in the store was not. That demeanor, not the issue with the straight vs. curved, or the recommendation (which was 100% accurate) is what will stop me from using the company any further.

Response from GLENSIDE GLASS CO
The purchase of new light fixtures was suggested to the customer because the cost of custom bent glass would far outweigh the cost of new light fixtures. The Glenside Glass Co. employee tried to explain to the customer that flat glass would not fit into a curved frame, but she insisted that we cut the glass. We were only trying to save her the cost of the glass.

Excellent as described above. Glenside is first-rate!
Description of Work: We live in a house built in the 1950s. We have a number of large floor to ceiling windows which were old and one of which had lost its seal such that it was basically opaque. It really marred the room. We obtained an estimate from Tom at Glenside who noted that removing the existing glass could be challenging given that all the fittings had been painted over several times and the fasteners were stripped. But more concerning was the awkward location which would require some ingenuity to perform the installation. He cautioned me that the estimate might have to be adjusted by as much as $250 if some of the hindrances required more work. I agreed that Glenside should proceed. Bottom line, Aaron and his associate did a great job, cleaned up excellently, and the charge came in precisely on the estimate. Had I been charged more, I would not have liked it but then again would not have questioned it. Glenside not only does excellent work, but exhibited great integrity.

They gave me an estimate on the phone based on the approximate dimensions I provided. I was told I could come in with or without the frame and that they would cut the glass for me while I waited. It took about 10 minutes and then they wrapped it up and offered to load it into my car (which wasn't necessary). Final price was within $2 of estimate.

The end result was great. The first time the glass was cut slightly too large (although apparently within "industry standards" for precision). When I called them they explained that it was within tolerance, but if I wanted to I could bring it back. They ground an additional 3/16" off the diameter just in time for Thanksgiving. They were very professional and would not accept my offer to pay them for the additional work.

It was real expensive. They came and something wasn't measured or made properly and they were back here within the week with the proper item. I was very pleased with them. I really researched it and they were the best for the price.

I called and spoke to Tom. I explained that our sliding glass door was shattered for an unknown reason. I called on Friday, and by Monday he came out to give us an estimate. He suggested that we not only replace that pane, but do the other door as well. We went to the showroom to place the order and were told it would take about 2 weeks, as they had to custom-make the panes. It only took 5 days. Tom set up an appointment with us and two of his technicians came out as promised. They worked quickly, were friendly and cleaned up after themselves. We are very pleased with the quality of the glass and service and would certainly use this company again.

WE HAD TWO CRACKED WINDOWS IN OUR FIRST HOME AS NEWLYWEDS. MIKE THE TECHNICIAN CAME ON TIME, AND PROCEEDED TO REMOVE THE OLD GLASS FROM THE OLD WOOD WINDOWS AND REPLACE IT WITH NEW GLASS. HE ALSO REPLACED A CRACKED WINDOW IN MY HUTCH LATER. MIKE ALSO RE-SILVERS OLDER MIRRORS, WHICH WE PLAN TO HAVE DONE. HE RECOMMENDED NEW VINYL WINDOWS, WHICH ARE MORE COST-EFFECTIVE IN HEAT AND COLD. HE ALSO RECOMMENDED PLASTIC WINDOW-WELL COVERS FOR OUR BASEMENT WINDOWS, WHERE RAINWATER CAN BUILD UP AND SEEP INTO THE BASEMENT. WE PROMPTLY DID THAT ON OUR OWN, THANKS TO HIS SUGGESTION!
