Tucked away in a corner of the North Hills, Works in Wood is a custom cabinetry shop that does extraordinarily fine work for a reasonable price. Whether you are d*** a total remodel or just freshening up your kitchen/bath with new doors and counter tops, this is the place to go. I had a kitchen with forty year old Wood Mode cabinets that I wanted to add onto. The new wall of cabinets had to be the same style, color and quality as the original Wood Mode cabinets. Additionally, the new cabinets had to be constructed with woods, finish coats and adhesives that wouldn't out gas volatile organic compounds. Dwight Palmer, the owner, told me there would be no problem meeting my requirements. He also offered some helpful design suggestions and tips that I hadn't thought of. The finished wall of new cabinets exceeded my expectations. The color match was perfect, the quality of construction outstanding and the installation meticulously done. The two craftsmen, Mike and Russ, were polite, hardworking and highly skilled. They kept a clean workplace while working and thoroughly cleaned up after they finished. We have been so pleased with the quality of craftsmanship from Works in Wood that we have since contracted with them to do more work for us. Working with them is a stress-free experience. They take serious pride in their work and have the ability to customize whatever they are making to your specific needs. Works in Wood has been in business for over 25 years. Although I stumbled across them in the Yellow Pages, I thought I'd make it easier for others to find them through a recommendation on Angie's List. I can't say enough good things about this small business.
