Schaffner Maintenance

Two men came to the house for a variety of jobs I needed completed. The 1st man asked me what needed to be done while looking around the room in the lower level of my home. I explain I am getting carpet and need the baseboards installed and I pointed out an area I did not want baseboard in a doorway. The 2nd worker was out at the truck while I provided these instructions. I later see that the 1st guy is not even working in the room with the 2nd guy and never relayed what I told him about putting up the baseboard. The baseboard was hung where I did not want it. The 2nd guy went out to pressure wash 2 sides of the house. This takes less than 2 hours for him to complete. I was charged $350.00. I learn later that the company charges $55/hour for their work when uncertain what the time to complete will be. I feel I was gouged for the pressure washing of those 2 walls!! I go down to check on the baseboard job and learn that the workman needs a saw he did not bring. He offered to go get it but advised it would take a few hours for him to pick it up and return to my home. The person who came out to look at the projects was not one of the men who came to do the work. I have Nature Stone around my wood burner and planned to get carpet installed about 9 feet away from that area. The Stone required a shorter baseboard but it could not be cut with the tools that had been brought for the job. I asked he try to hang the baseboard as low as possible in the area after the Nature Stone. If I had known he was not going to finish the work for me that day I would have told him not to put a baseboard over the stone at all. He never suggested it. When the job was done I had to repaint portions of my walls because dark pencil marks were left several Inches higher than where the baseboard was hung!?! The board was also hung so high I have a shadow all around the room above the new carpet. I found calk had been dropped on the mat I have at the back door. In addition, I had a nail pulling tool in the room, to pull up the tack strip from the old carpet. There was still a small section that needed removed. I have not seen that tool since the workmen left that day. They say they do not have it. I wrote a check for $500 that day and would pay the balance when the bill arrived. I still needed a few items completed they did not get to and I thought I would wait to pay in full when the other items were completed. An emergency forced me out of town for 3 weeks so I went ahead and paid the bill in full to avoid their having to wait until my return. I sent the check with a note asking that I be scheduled one day after May 21st for the last of my list to be completed. I received no phone call and no day was planned for anyone to come out. I waited until June 12th to finally get someone out to finish up. It was at that time when I learned I would be charged their $55/hour rate because they did not know how long those projects would take to complete. That is when I realized I was Way Overcharged for the pressure washing of the house!!

I called Schaffner and they were very aggressive in getting back to me. My job is demanding so I wasn't able to return their calls right away. Dave, instead, texted me. I was appreciative of that. We were able to get a time where he could come and look at my job. He came out April 12 and looked. I never heard another word. That was weeks ago. I would not contact them again. I'm very disappointed as Dave is the owner and I would expect more professionalism.

Schaffner Maintenance sent Cliff to do the work. He was very skilled and completed the work in 2 1/2 days. Cliff arrived on time each day and worked without a break. He was polite, pleasant and very good at his work.

I called and got the voicemail, and a return call was made the same day. Since it was around the holidays, there was a bit of a wait, around 6-8 weeks until the repairs could be made. This was to be expected since it was around the holidays. The repairs were such it could wait as they did not interfere with the daily function of a home. The crew did arrive on the day they said they would and they were punctual. As always, this crew is professional, punctual and their work is excellent. I would hire them again and highly recommend them.

They were contacted and made an assessment of what needed to be done. Since we were selling the house, they knew time was an issue.They promptly repaired the window and cleaned up the debris. It worked beautifully. We have used Schaffner Maintenance on many previous occasions as well. They always do quality work.

First, you call and leave a voicemail with a recording that all calls will be returned. That is a good thing. However, the return calls can take a few days. Also, there was a bit of a mix up or some confusion from the time I approved the estimate to the time of scheduled completion of work. It took about three weeks total, and then on the day the crew was scheduled to arrive, it was about 2-2 1/2 hours later than I was originally scheduled for. Again, there was a mix up in the office and I understand those sorts of things happen. The gentleman who gave me the estimate, Dave, was polite and professional. The two men who arrived and completed the work (wish I could remember their names) were polite, professional and did an awesome job. I would recommend them again. The one thing I was not happy about was the $19 fuel surcharge. I have been aware of fuel prices over the years and most recently, they have gone down. When I do call someone to schedule work, I try to contact someone within a 5-10 mile radius. This provider is listed at under 5 miles from my address. When you receive an estimate, there is a note there may be a $19 fuel surcharge, I figured my close proximity would negate that. They get a frownie face on that. I would call them again, if they waive the fuel charge. As a matter of fact, I did phone again with an issue that arose over the Thanksgiving weekend that needed immediate attention. By the time Jennifer got back to me, I already contacted another provider who had completed the repair.

I feel the meeting did not go well at all, as a matter of fact the representative was not even friendly. When he came back down to speak with me more, all I got was saying that the roof does not even need replaced. All that was soft was around some pipes. I even asked him if it was necessary to put additional vents to help get air up in the roofing area, and the reply I got in return(very rude I might add) says that there really is no need for replacing anything nor adding any thing. Above all else how dose know the age of the roof and the circumstances that go along if what I was trying to tell him. As for the estimate, he said that there really is no need if we are not going to replace anything, I will send one any way, but he never asked for my email. I feel that this person that came to my house and the company he works for are very poor in term of the following: Every ignorant(rude) non professional Did not take the time to talk about the job let alone his company Did not tell me what they would do if roof needed done Over all I had a very poor experience just trying to get a roof so that I do not have to worry about any more mold issue( that he claims we did not have) to make my family sick.

The individual sent to do the work (sorry, I can not remember his name!) arrived on time. Was no drama, very professional, and worked hard all day. I was very pleased with him and the work he did. I would definitely have them come back. The cost was very reasonable.

It went very well. We've used them often, and they're very good.

They came when scheduled and did a good job on the patch. They had to match a textured ceiling and they were able to do that. They had to come back after the repair was dry to paint the ceiling. They were on time for that as well and did a good job on the painting as well as cleaning up after they were done.

We've used them for a number of years and they've been excellent. Their prices have been reasonable although sometimes it could be a little high but it's worth it. They've been responsible and responsive. We've been very pleased with them.

We've used them 5 to 10 times with great success. They are prompt, courteous, professional, and keep you informed on the progress of the project. All the work is done in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend them.

Tasks completed promptly and professionally. Needed to obtain parts that were charged in the bill, but time to obtain the parts were not billed. All went well.

Job went well for most part but one sink continued to leak. Despite multiple calls to have them come back, no response. I ended up not paying them for this part and only what was completed.

I did not have the work done as it was going to cost too much. They had to rent a huge lift to get up to my roof area and it was going to cost too much. I cancelled the work before they got to me. They billed me anyway for cleaning out a gutter that I do not believe they did. I hired someone else to do the work who was able to get to my roof from ladders and they did not have to rip apart the siding to repair the openings. They also cleaned out the gutters and took out a huge amount of debris that I found hard to believe if the other people had just cleaned them!

Better than our expectations.

They can and will do anything from small maintenance to larger maintenance projects. I have given them literally dozens of fix it projects each of the last two years to get our home ready to sell. Simply put, this is a superb vendor in every respect.

The crew was very professional and the work was top notch. It took a little longer to get the work done than I was hoping but I can't fault them too much for that. They do good work so they are probably pretty busy. Price felt a little high but I don't have too much of a point of reference. Overall I was very pleased and plan on using them again.
