 + -1 moreAfter removing the full carpet that had covered our main staircase for the past 20 years, we discovered a really ugly, though sound, pine substructure. In our search for someone to provide a hardwood overlay to this existing staircase, we were referred to Kellner Stair and Rail by the folks at Artcraft Wood Products Company. A stop at their facility near the 62nd Street bridge was followed by a visit to our home to discuss our requirements and ideas and to take the necessary measurements. We also decided to have the baluster and handrail replaced at that time. The acceptance of their quote and a down payment was followed several weeks later by the installation of this beautiful staircase, baluster, and railing; an installation that took a number of days to complete. The fitment and finish is like fine furniture. We could not be more pleased. Thanks Don! Thanks Ron!
Description of Work: Stair tread and riser overlays were supplied and installed on our existing main staircase. The treads were custom fit finished to match the adjacent hardwood flooring. The risers were painted white. In addition, a custom baluster and maple handrail were installed.
