John made the process easy. He communicates clearly, walks you through each step and checks on the progress of the work daily. He is very responsive and makes you the customer very comfortable. The roof looks great and will last us until we retire.

John, was prompt in responding to our call about getting an estimate. He really listened to what we wanted and constructed it to our wants. John is a throw back to old times in terms of being straight forward and someone you can trust that he will do what he says. When we decided to go with K C Contracting, John was quick to get us on the schedule. John, who is an owner/worker, was onsite for our job every day. The crew showed up promptly and worked all 5 days of the week regardless of weather conditions. The job took about 4 weeks. John and his crew were friendly, professional, and talented. My wife appreciated their professionalism and respect they showed around her and our young children. The crew was also clean, and would clean up the job site at the end of each day. There was always an open line of communication and therefore the end result was always what we wanted. John was readily available and was always open to phone calls in the evening to discuss the progress and any questions that we had. John is a stickler for detail and works to instill this in his crew. I noticed this when we was looking over their staining of the wood and was making sure they applied it nice and even. In addition their finish carpentry work was beautiful. We would definitely use K C Contracting in the future for other construction projects.

I left a message to get an estimate for my leaky roof. From the moment I answered the phone John was annoyed. He began asking detailed questions about what kind of roof it is. What do I know? I'm not a roofer. I need my roof repaired and wanted someone to look at it and give me an estimate. He then asked if the roof is "walkable." If it is not, he would charge me $100 because he didn't want he doesn't want to send 2 guys out for nothing. He also said that they don't just give out estimates. What kind of business is this? I was done with him. I told him I would call someone else.

John and his crew were exceptional from day one up until the completion of the project. John was honest and helpful throughout the planning process. He offered a very competitive price when compared with other contractors also known for a high standard of work. John uses high quality material from the start and is very knowledgeable about the pros and cons of various product lines. During the work phase of our project the KC Contracting crew arrived on time and worked consistently throughout the day. They are responsible, friendly and respectful and also worked quietly as a courtesy to the neighbors. We felt extremely comfortable having them around. A week into construction John found some siding that was rotted and in very bad shape. His crew removed the old siding and replaced it with high quality James Hardie siding for a minimum price. The communication about the extra work was kind and clear. John made every effort to make sure we were well informed and comfortable with the extra repairs. Upon completion the work KC Contracting performed is excellent and has held up very well. In my opinion the best thing about John and his crew is that they do things the right way without you even having to ask. I highly recommend KC Contracting and will be using them again in the future. John is an absolute pleasure to deal with and he has earned my business and trust.

John & his workers were great. Very Professional, Polite & did a great Job. Everyday they cleaned up like they were never there. When they finished, My wife & I were not home and they cleaned up so much they swept the entire garage which was completely unexpected. As far as price goes, I received 4 estimates and John was right in the middle, He worked with me a little to make me feel better, I really appreciated that. The end result is, My Roof is beautiful, thanks to john's recommendation of color, the workers were great and I am 110 % satisfied. I would Highly recommend KC Contracting to everyone. One more thing that floored me, I asked one of his workers if he could replace a light bulb for me that was located up high that I couldn't get to myself and offered him 20 bucks to do it, He refused the money and installed the bulb. Again, another reason why when i'm ready to have other work done I will be calling John and his team. Highly recommended !

Our roof had given us trouble for years, particularly areas around the eyebrow dormers which the original roofer had attempted to fix several times after the house was built but never with much success. So now it was time to replace the roof completely (24 yrs old). I had several highly rated roofers in mind based on Angie's list as well as neighbor's experiences. John Kindler was at the top of my list. When I contacted him, his crew came out and measured the roof, and provided an estimate in a matter of days - no hounding or call backs required. The price was within my expectations, so I contracted with KC Contracting without bothering to obtain any other quotes (If I got a significantly lower quote I would wonder what corners were being cut). Work began in June close to the time John originally estimated. They brought in a small dump truck instead of using a dumpster which was a real good idea because they could move it around if necessary. Work took about 6 working days. We had at least one day of rain delay. We were also hit by an unusually heavy rain on a Sunday - a day off - but John's guys came out in the heavy rains and secured an area that was not quite finished so it could weather the storm. I appreciated that John's crew was mostly made up of local guys - not out-of-towners as is so often the case these days. They probably took a little longer than some of these other outfits. My wife lost her cool at times with the construction lasting as long as it did - we have vaulted ceilings, and the noise is pretty amplified in the house. But most importantly, it has been 3 very rainy months since the job has been completed, and there is absolutely no evidence of any leakage (!!!) The results show that the guys took their time to do some complicated flashing and roofing the right way, which is what I wanted. I told John up front that if there was any question about replacing or repairing things they found, that I didn't want to cut corners to save a few bucks - I wanted a leak free roof. They did find a fair amount of sheathing that needed to be replaced, and the additional charges were still very reasonable. So I'm very pleased with the work that K.C. Contracting did, and would absolutely recommend them. It feels so much better to have a good roof over our heads!

If you want to deal with a real straight shooter hire John Kindler. I picked K C Contracting after interviewing five good companies. Angie's list was a great help in this process. I chose John because I could see the years of experience that he brought to the job. The details of his bid and his evaluation of the work involved showed me the nuts and bolts of this roof replacement and let me sort through the different bids that I received. A new roof was a huge deal for us. John's price was not the lowest but we all know how that goes. I liked talking to John during this process. I never felt like I was being "worked." In the end I just felt confident he would do what he said he would do. I was right. It's hard to find roofers in the middle of summer. After John accepted the job he got us on his schedule and actually moved us up when a week cleared up for him. John's crew was great. Hard working, considerate polite guys who cleaned up the work site every day before they left. They even swept our driveway where their truck was parked. My wife really appreciated that. John helped her pick the shingle style and color and our new roof looks great. The wood trim panels around our chimney had rotted at the bottom and needed replaced. John repaired the damage at a fair price and showed me the materials bill. Also he figured out a drainage problem with a gutter section and made sure that the water flow was now good. You never know what you are going to get into until the old roof is off and John spelled out his repair prices in his estimate. I always felt completely in the loop about these extras. I approved everything in advance. We are very happy with the finished project and have already recommended K C Contracting to friends.

This company exudes the definition if customer service. John responds quickly and details what options you have. I highly recommend this company!!!

John Kindler was very prompt in responding to my request for an estimate on our roof. He was professional and courteous. He also provided an extremely fair price and was able to fit us in about a week after we hired him for the job. John and his crew got to our home at the exact time they said they would and began work immediately. They completed the entire project in just a few days, and the roof looks great. We would definitely recommend John and K C Contracting to anyone looking to have roofing work done. My only complaint was that some of the workers left cigarette butts on our driveway. But, for the excellent work they did, I can forgive them for that tiny inconvenience.

I live in the city of Pittsburgh and the roof of my house suffered storm damage which inturn caused waterdamage to the inside of my house. I was looking for a contractor to do both the roof and interior work. This gentleman call two days after I left a message, I got the feeling, during the phone call that he had better things to do than talk to me. Then, the moment he found out I lived in the city he wanted nothing to do with the job. He told me they do not do jobs in the city. I found this odd since it states in the posting that this company services all areas except Washington and Beaver counties. Maybe he should make it clear that he does not do work in the city.

We live in a three-story city house and have some leaking around our chimneys, so we are looking for a roofer to come out and give us the lay of the land with regard to flashing, gutters, roof, etc. Company was very prompt in returning my phone call, which I greatly appreciated, but once I explained what I was looking for, he said he probably didn't have a ladder tall enough to take a look. I was a little surprised by this since roofing is first in the company description on Angie's List, but OK! The gentleman was nice enough and since the company gets such good reviews, we would consider calling for non-roof projects in the future.

John at KC Contracting and his crew presented an excellent price for our new roof and gutters. He returned calls very promptly and went above and beyond to answer all of my questions regarding the products and the installation. The crew was extremely polite and accomedating and it was hard to tell they were even here on a day to day basis because their cleanup was meticulous every day. I would highly recommend that you contact KC for your next roof or gutter install. They made it a very painless and pleasant experience and there work was excellent!

His name is John and he was a real nice guy. He was very professional, very helpful and very knowledgeable. He will ultimately be doing the deck after I get the financing and he clears his schedule. I may end up using him for other services.

I called John at KC Contracting and he came out within a couple days to do an estimate at a mutually convienent time. He talked me through the process and I actually learned the most from our conversation. I had previously had two other contractors out. John beat both prices, one by $900 and the other by $1750. The guys worked on the roof for two days and it was done. He helped me make a decision about resheeting the roof - I made the decision to do it myself but he gave me all my options. I had some rotten spots on my roof and it was 3/8 inch only. They patched the rotten areas with fresh plywood and then put an additional layer over that. They got rid of the ugly turtle fans and I got a nice new exhaust fan and a ridge vent. I picked out really nice Owens Corning Duration shingles with lifetime warranty. They were all very nice guys and cleaned up great. I couldn't think of one thing to complain about if I tried. Don't feel worried about calling John and his team, they are class act from start to finish. PS My neighbors have all been complimenting how nice the roof is and how fast the guys worked. John was one of five contractors we called to get estimates for our deck. He called us back the same day and discussed with us the type of deck we wanted and what would work with our budget. John came out to our house to talk to us about two possibilities (side of house versus wraparound deck) and gave us estimates for both options. Our calls were always returned promptly and courteously. Once we had agreed on a plan, John gave us an estimated start date and emailed a detailed list of the work to be performed, materials he would use, etc. The work started about two weeks earlier than John estimated, which was fantastic. John and his team arrived on site each morning bright and early, took a brief lunch break, and cleaned up at the end of each day. All members of his team were polite and worked hard. The work was completed without interruption and took about seven work days. We are very happy with the results. The deck is very solidly built and nicely done, the door was also done very well with removed bricks used to frame the door on the outside which looks really nice. John told us that he takes care to hand select the boards he uses to ensure quality of construction. When the deck was completed John's team spent time sanding the floor and railing, and cleaned up the site completely before leaving. The deck increases our living space and brightens our dining room where the door was installed. We would definitely recommend KC Contracting to others based on the work they did for us.

Working with John was a pleasurable experience from beginning of bid to completion of work. He is personable, responsive and truly cares about the quality of his work. He and his crew are prompt and hard working as John is right there with then performing the work. Overall, K C Contracting is top notch from my experience. I would not hesitate to use them again.

I called and talked to the contractor during the week and they agreed to come out either that Saturday or Sunday to look at the leaks in my roof and give me an estimate. The weekend came and went with no one showing up to the house. Tried to get a hold of someone by Sunday late in the afternoon. Never heard from them, never got a call back.

I live out of state and was trying to sell my mothers home since she passed away. The roof needed immediate repair since the house was on the market and was scaring away prospective buyers. I used Angie's List and made several calls and John of KC Contracting was the first to reply. He was very responsive and professional. He got the job done in a timely manner. He also put my mind to ease since I wasn't there to micro manage. Our realtor kept tabs on John and the roof looks amazing. Quality work!

Owner called back immediately. I was experiencing water infiltration due to Ice Damming caused by severe cold weather. The owner was very empathetic with our plight and had his crew on the roof as soon as the weather permitted. All was repaired while both of us where at our day jobs. They called later to insure we where satisfied with the service before they sent invoice. Discussed in length how to put in a permanent repair when the weather clears. Defiantly a first class operation, highly recommended.

John's team estimated the job and stayed within that estimate. I made a request late in the roofing season and John was able to schedule and install the roof before my deadline. John helped us pick a shingle that worked VERY well for the style of our house. His crew was very professional, did quality work and cleaned up very well when done for each day.

i am happy with the job they did. Very professional came when they said they would and finished on time. I would use them again.

No work was done yet...will be hopefully scheduled in the spring.
