I feel that all of the jobs were done well and I was very happy overall with the process and interaction with John.

I called for an estimate, but previous company that was here to give me an estimate said that I did not need a new roof. John from KC Contracting was very responsive to giving me the intinial call back & appointment. He totally understood when I called him back to tell him I did not need to keep the appointment. Very nice guy!

Did not turn up for quote, citing other commitments. Promised to provide the quote following week but didn't. Blamed weather (which didn't deter two other roofers).

John is the first contractor I've had to hire. He was a few minutes early for the estimate and unlike some other roofers, he actually bothered to get up on the roof to take a good look. He even brought me up to show me what the problems were. He had several jobs lined up, so he wasn't going to be able to get to me right away. But as soon as I agreed to hire him, he came to my house on a Saturday morning and (for no charge) properly patched the hole in the roof so that it wouldn't leak in the meantime. I had to wait a little longer than expected, but it wasn't too bad. And he took a little off the bill because of the unexpected wait. When he was replacing the flat roof, they ran into some very wet damaged wood and stayed an extra couple of days to replace it. It ended up bringing the bill up past the original estimate, but John did the best he could to keep costs as low as he could while still doing a good job. He was patient with all my questions and I'm very glad I hired him.

John was very good at getting back to me and came at the agreed date. I was at work at the time. My wife was home, and John impressed her as a very knowledgeable and polite person. John went up into the attic and looked at the gap. John was willing to call me at work since my wife didn't understand the details. John told me not to worry it was not a major problem. He did tell me that the previous company did not use a drip edge in the back of the house and that they hung the new gutter incorrectly and from the wrong place. John gave me an estimate for the repair, and we are definitely using him to repair the previous roofers (Franc Construction) mistakes. John is very good at returning calls and is willing to help in many ways. He also only charged me $20 to clean the gutter since it was not very dirty.

When contacting John Kindler in September, we told him we were in no hurry. He came out immediately upon contacting him to look over the job. He still had many jobs ahead of ours but promised he would get to us before the bad weather and he did. He was very pleasant to deal with and work was done to our satisfaction. We would hire him again.

They arrived on October 23rd with a four man crew and a dumpster so they could dump all the old material. The workers were all very knowledgeable. I was impressed with the way they worked as a team. John Kindler the owner was without a doubt the best contractor I ever worked with. He answered all my questions and returned my calls promptly. Since roofing is weather dependent they always made sure my roof was protected at all times. They used a boom to deliver the shingles, and it was a very efficient operation. Since I used Angies's List to obtain four estimates and exact specifications, I was pleased with the price and the job. As long as I own a house, I will be a member of Angie's List. What a great concept! The job took about five days to complete, since it was a big job and weather dependent. K.C. Contracting was the most professional contractor that I had the pleasure of doing business with.

JUST IMAGINE!!! I called John Kindler and made an appointment for him the following morning, and he WAS HERE! He said he would start on a certain date in August, and HE CAME A DAY EARLY! Every morning, he and his crew arrived about 7:00 and continued until the job was done. He did not sandwich us in with other jobs but concentrated on our work. He and his crew were very pleasant to have around, cleaned up each day, and did a great job. He did a great job of painting and spending many days prepping so that it would last and look great. I have had so much trouble finding reliable contractors that would return my calls, show up when they said they would, and complete the job to my satisfaction. John did all of those things. You won't find a more reliable person. In fact, he then did a complete renovation/painting for my neighbors, and they were as equally satisfied. He is the one I am calling from now on.

John Kindler was very helpful and thorough. After spending 15 minutes looking over the roof and doing some work, he did not charge anything since he said "it was not major." I feel I can trust his work in the future. I would definitely reuse him.

Mr. Kindler was kind enough to schedule the job during a week when I was already scheduled to be on vacation. He promised one day, and needed to reschedule due to a conflict with another job - but he called and rescheduled in a very timely manner. In the end - Mr. Kindler took $100 off of is original estimate. I was pleased to get the work done in such a fast and professional manner. I highly recommend Mr. Kindler's services - and will likely call him again for additional jobs.

Mr Kindler came out on a holiday (July 4th) to inspect the gutters. He came a little early when it started to rain because he knew that was the best time to check on gutter drainage problems. The work was completed later that week (on a dry day) and was done neatly and in a timely manner. Mr. Kindred was always courteous and professional. I would not hesitate to use him for any home improvement projects.

John was very polite and timely. He promptly returned my call when I called for an estimate. He gave me an honest evaluation of what work was necessary. In addition to what he fixed I asked for an estimate for cleaning out the gutters and he said they really were already clean. The work was done in the time he said it would be done.

John Kindler actually cleared 3 downspouts when he came out, promptly, to give me an estimate. He finished the work, cleaned up and was gone almost before I knew it. The pricing was 1/2 to 1/3 of the other prices I had gotten.

Mr. Kindler was very responsive. Eventhough he was very busy he returned calls promptly. When the gutter overflooded, he came the next day to clear the gutters. His team then came 1 week later to do the formal gutter cleaning and roof repair. He also removed old arbor from my backyard. They did an excellent job by grinding the metal poles flush with ground so my son wouldn't trip on them. They also did an excellent job cleaning up after the job is done. The overall experience was wonderful. Mr. Kindler even called the day after job to make certain that the gutter was functioning properly.

On time, reasonably priced, nice personality.

I recently purchased a 5500 sq ft home. I paid $350 for a roof inspection prior to purchase. The estimate for repairs was $3500. I later found KC contracting from Angie's List. John Kindler came out the same day to inspect the roof and give an estimate. John discovered serious problems with the roof that the previous roof inspector missed. John was correct and the roof began leaking. When I notified him of the leak he came out immediately and fixed it. All roof work was completed withing 2 weeks of his estimate. He did much more work at the half the price of other roofers. John is also a general contractor and he had practical and economical ways of addressing other work that need to be done on the house. He has a great eye and saw a lot of things that others had missed. He is very nice, professional, answers his calls or returns missed calls the same day. I would highly recommend him.

He cleaned the gutters of my very large home. The charge was $100. Because I had him do other roof work, he threw in the gutters for free. I would have gladly paid the $100 as someone else on the list quoted $500 to clean them.

We were happy to find that Mr. Kindler was willing to work on our greenhouse, as we were having a difficult time finding anyone willing to do the work. Mr. Kindler had been hired to do slate roof repairs for us. We were quite happy with the work that was done. The greenhouse looks very nice now, and it would appear that it is now watertight and sealed properly.

Mr. Kindler was the only one of six slate roofer contractors who not only returned our phone calls immediately, but also actually showed up quickly to give us an estimate on our roof. None of the others showed for the estimate; Mr. Kindler was here the next day. We were very happy with Mr. Kindler's work. He works with a company that sells used slates, which gives his clients a significant savings over the price of new slates. (Of course, he will also install new slates.) Price of used slates is dependent upon availability, but we were very happy with what he found -- and they were even new slates! His work was excellent, and he guarantees ten years on all labor. He was attentive to our needs and paid attention to cost. The cost came out to about $1800 more than estimated, but that was due to more extensive water damage than was visible, and he had warned us of this before he began. His crew does smoke, if this bothers you, but they cleaned up after their cigarettes.
