They showed up within 45 min of their three hour window which wasn't bad, it still was annoying wondering if they would show up while I was eating or not. He showed up after our second quote so we already had a spray painted outline of the planned work for him to go off of so I didn't test his design skills. After he measured everything (he didn't take into account the grade of my yard for the estimate like the second quote did) and took his drawings, he said he'd get the write up to the Project Manager and see what he would feel he would want to complete the work. We didn't hear back for a couple of days (compared to the second quote that did the estimate straight out of his truck). We received the quote and decided it was too high. That's pretty much the end of our interaction. The main difference in the quotes is the fact that Carbaugh Concrete Inc has a flat $13/sq ft. rate on their quote and our second quote had a graduated scale where if you were above 400 sq ft the price came down to $10/sq ft. with about 4 steps in between. Also, they are booked about two months out and the schedule was tight even then so this factored into our choice. They obviously have a lot of work and I cannot comment on their quality. The guy seemed professional but it felt like I was not a high priority to the company or that they were really busy to take that long to provide a quote.
Description of Work: came out, measured the planned patio and walkway, left, waited about 5 days, and then provided an estimate roughly $1,000 more expensive than our second quote for about 25 linear feet less of concrete work in the quote (for capping our front porch area) and about 120 sq ft less over all concrete planned.

very very well, except. the pad was not bid correctly, partly due to zoning concerns and property boundaries. the job will require more pavement to be logically completed.
Description of Work: remove old concrete drive way and small patio and install new, plus a small pad for parking an additional vehicle.
Have to start out by saying that we could not have been happier with our experience with Carbaugh Concrete! From the initial consultation to the final day of work, everyone associated with this company was professional, courteous and at all times displayed a ?can do? attitude. My husband and I both felt that we received service above and beyond as far as advice and consulting as to the best way to approach the work we wanted done, obtaining permits, and the actual work performed. We've had a lot of work done in the last two years and I can tell you that this company was tops in all areas, down to cleaning up at the end of each day and being considerate of surrounding areas. We had a very large driveway completely removed and redone; an old brick patio and walkway removed and redone with a beautiful stamped patio and fire pit (which we love:); and a couple of areas excavated for ease of maintenance and to make room for a new shed. Carbaugh did all of this work with A+ marks! Carbaugh may not be the fastest or the cheapest (although definitely not out of line compared to the 3 bids we received), but if you want a job you know is done right with emphasis on perfection and not rushing to get done and onto the next job, that definitely seems to be this company's philosophy. Even though they were not the lowest bid we received, we still felt they deserved an "A" rating in the price category because we think we received a lot more than we would have with another company overall. We would highly recommend this company!
