Please avoid this company. The packers and movers failed to finish the straightforward 4-bedroom house job, damaged our stuff, and were incredibly unprofessional. We had to scramble to get other movers at the last minute to complete and we have had to suck up the damages. They were the lowest bid but still way too much for the trauma they put us through and the damage to our stuff.

Poorly. We went with Two Men and a Truck based on a referral from a friend who had a good experience. However, the movers we got did not live up to our expectations and damaged both our furniture and our house. In addition, I needed to help them move, which defeated the purpose of paying for movers. And to top it off, they did not pay anything for the damage they caused. The damage occurred while moving a piece of our sectional couch down the stairs. I recommended removing the handrails from the stairs and the feet from the couch. The movers did not do either, so the couch got stuck in our stairwell and damaged both the couch and the stairwell. The exterior fabric on the couch was ripped and all of the wooden feet on the couch were chipped and damaged. The stairwell wall was scratched and scraped. Wooden pieces of trim around the stairwell were broken off from moving the couch. To help the movers (who had no tools with them) I removed the feet from the couch using my own screwdriver. However, they were not interested in trying to remove the handrail from the stairs, so they asked for my help moving the couch to the second story deck. In the process of moving the couch onto the deck I cut my middle and ring finger on our patio door. I had to bandage up my hand before coming back to help them move the couch off of the deck. Then I helped with lowering the couch off of the second story deck onto a tool shed. At this point in time, the movers (who were on the ground to receive the couch) lost control of the couch and it bounced off of a fence, causing a large rip in the fabric underneath the couch. Beyond the cosmetic damage to the couch, we are now finding further damage to the structure, as it creaks and appears broken internally. The couch cost over $2000 and was purchased last year. Needless to say, this is not the moving experience we expected. We attempted to work with the company to receive compensation for the damages, but they denied our claim. The claim was denied because the full extent of the damage was discovered after we had signed the forms and the movers had left. So, if you do use the company, DON’T PAY THEM and DON’T SIGN ANY FORMS until you have had time to fully evaluate the extent of the damage. It’s unfortunate that you have to hold them hostage to receive fair treatment, but this is how they treat their customers. Mover beware.

Men were very energetic, attentive and hard working. Nothing was broken, though several pieces had dings, rubs and scrapes. I was able to touch most of the blemishes up. Also, we had one box lost. I had not checked one of the trucks (my bad), but I would have thought someone would have seen in and made an inquiry. Our calls to their number went to voicemail with no follow up. That said, overall their service was a good value and two lessons learned with any mover: 1) supervise the wrapping and protection of the most precious pieces or do it yourself beforehand. 2) Check the truck (s) after the move.

the move was a mess to put it mildly and the after care service was even worse... Three guys showed up at 9:00 am over an hour late on the day of my move. One big guy, one new guy and a very young guy that I actually asked if he was old enough to work. After the initial meet and greet the guys got started and I quickly realized that this was going to be a longer day than I had planned. The big guy and the new guy were hard workers - the young guy was a waste of time. My home that I was moving from and was planning on renting out has original hardwood floors from 1870 - the kid did nothing but drag his feet - literally. When he would stop it was only to stand in a corner and text message or to pull up his pants. The big guy was absolutely fantastic to work with - he's been with the company for years and tried to get the kid to work a little faster but to no avail the text messaging, feet dragging kid slowed the job down. The new guy - it was his second day on the job. He explained that he was extremely sore from his first day on the job and that his back was killing him. But I will say, had he not told me that I probably would never have known - he worked his butt off. Lots of really stupid things went on - with the first being the guys did not have a cordless power screwdriver/drill. They had A manual screwdriver between them the 3 of them - so dismantling my bedroom set took over an hour. I had numerous shelves mounted on the walls - again over an hour. I've been in my new house for 2 months and to this day I still can't find the mounting hardware for the shelves or the wall mounted T.V. stand. The morning trudged on and by noon the house was not even half empty. By two - the guys informed me that the truck was full but my house was not empty. I wound up making 8 trips between two full sized SUV's to get the rest of my stuff out of the house. We got to my new house about 3:15 where the guys tried to back the truck up my relatively short but steep driveway and then the real fun began. The bottom of the truck kept hitting the drive way when he attempted to back straight in. I had had other deliveries with the same size truck that would come in from an angle - so the driver tried the same thing. He cut the truck too sharp and wound up stuck in the flower beds and lawn. As he tried to get un-stuck he dug the truck in deeper and deeper - nearly 3 feet. The deck of the truck was now even with my lawn. Mud, sod and flower bulbs were flinging everywhere as he tried to rock the truck out of the ruts. After nearly a half hour of trying to get unstuck, the driver called the manager and told him that he needed to be pulled out. The manager said he'd be here in 30-45 minutes and to get started unloading. The truck was completely blocking my street - the only saving grace is that I live on a circle so my new neighbors could still get home - but they were inconvenienced. I have to admit this was not really the way I wanted to meet my neighbors. So the guys now have to unload a 26' filled to the brim truck up a steep driveway. The new guy was pretty upset since he was so sore from the previous day's move. I gave the guys the tour of the house providing room names so everyone knew where to put stuff. I gave implicit instructions on my BRAND NEW hardwood floors - nothing was to skidded down the hallways. The new floors were installed the day before and are Brazilian Tigerwood. I can't tell you how many times I told the young kid to pick up his feet when he walked in my home - especially since he was wearing work boots. All of the boxes were marked with room names - when I wasn't paying attention the guys would just put boxes in the garage. The bar-b-que was supposed to put up on the deck - it was sitting at the bottom of the deck steps and with the door broken off the hinges. I had numerous boxes of stemware and NOW numerous boxes of broken stemware. I had a brand new end table - broken. Numerous pieces of framed artwork - frames are all chipped up. Bedroom furniture - scratched and gouged. My office desk was put on it's side and pushed down my hallway - Hardwood floors all the way down the 15' hallway are scratched and gouged. While the big guy and new guy are moving everything - the young kid is sitting in the truck. Just sitting there - I can't tell you how many times I told him to get up and move stuff into the house. I was paying over $100 an hour and to have someone sitting there doing nothing - OMG - It took everything I had not to go totally bizerk. It's now 8:45 pm and my house is in shambles - stuff broken, lost and in the wrong rooms and the manager still hasn't shown up to pull the truck out of my front lawn. The big guy tells me that he is only going to charge me the two man rate and for 10 hours instead of the 3 man rate for 12 hours. At that point I was so tired I just signed the paperwork 9:30 pm the manager shows up with his pick up truck and pulls the moving truck out of my lawn. The manager never came up to the house, never called the next day - NOTHING. Two days after the move I called and mustered up the ability to be nice and explained my terrible experience. The guy on the phone was very nice and said he would send someone out to take a look at the damage. A week later one of the managers came out - said he would pay to fix the floor, reseed my lawn and fix the broken end table. (At that time I didn't know I had 3 boxes of broken stemware, that the Bar-B-Que was not on the deck and broken and that my bedroom set that was in the garage was pretty scratched up, yet alone any of the scratched up artwork frames.) He apologized for not coming up to the house when he pulled the stuck truck and said he was just exhausted that night. So after all of this is said and done - they glued my end table back together. Put grass seed in my flower beds - the ruts are still there - and the $1,000 bucks of floor damage - still waiting for the check. I can't get the manager to return a call, the franchise owner won't get on the phone - when I call he tells the receptionist to tell me to talk to the manager...and round and round in circles I go. I finally called corporate two week ago and miraculously the local manager sends me an email telling me my check is in the mail. That was two weeks ago and the nightmare started over 60 days ago.
Description of Work: The scope of this job was to move me from a small two bedroom house in Ambler PA out to a larger 4 bedroom house in Downingtown. I had informed the quote guy that even though I had a small place it was chock full and that my furniture was extremely large. I was quoted 2 men and a 26' truck for 6-8 hours depending on traffic since my new home was nearly an hour from the starting point.
