Full disclosure -- I have used O'Donnell in the past with good sucess. I will use them again in the future mostly because of their expertise and care, but also because they are from the same township. Dan brings all the right equipment to do the most difficult jobs in the safest way. He has a great appreciation for the trees he works with, and it is reassuring to have such an intellignet competent team working on my home. Dan used four heavy lines in an adjacent tree to raise the trunk of the leaning tree enough to limb off the top and lower each chunk safely. Once the fence and pool equipment were safe, he proceeded to buck off rounds until the trunk could be laid down. The crew rolled rounds up the hill into the woods for disposal. The remaining half of the tree had to be climbed, limbed and lowered until the trunk could be dropped between the adjacent trees in the woods and laid uphill.
Description of Work: Remove leaning snagged 120' Tulip Poplar; remove remaining other half of the tree. I agreed that it would be easier to lay the tree down in the woods rather than cut, chip, and haul. As all the gardens were in full bloom in June, and the tree was hanging over the pool pump, this was no easy task.

O'Donnell was tremendously respectful of the gardens and spring bulbs. Much of the work was near other tall trees and over the deck or pool equipment. Despite the height and conditions of the work, they worked safely, lowering lots of heavy lumber. At all times, he had the right equipment, rigging, tools, and personnel available to do a first class job. Clean-up was prompt and thorough. It was apparent that there was a real care and appreciation for the health of the trees both during the discussion and execution of the work to be done. O'Donnell made suggestions for trimming to promote safe and healthier growth. During the work, no spikes were used for climbing, and a great deal of care was taken to preserve the health of adjacent trees.
Description of Work: O'Donnell removed three large damaged trees from my property. One tall (85') white pine was leaning against the adjacent walnut near the drive. The other 120' tulip poplar was damaged 2 years back by lightning. I contracted to remove the three trees without damaging the garden beds or bulbs in the lawn. Chip the branches; remove all the white pine; leave one trunk for firewood (bucked); lay the tulip uphill into the woods.

He did amazing work. He had updated equipment to permit him to go to the tree tops and lower the limbs without doing damage.
