It was a horrible experience. The windows they installed are now leaking. Air is coming through and one fell apart. The contractor was boasting that he did not use all the caulking that Rob provided. He did not take advantage of the abundance amount of caulking available. The siding was performed by the gentlemen that was installing. They did not have a record for me. Rob brought a client to show the work without even getting my approval or giving me a call. We were not satisfied with this service.

The overall rating should be higher with 3-b's, 1-c, and 1-d???? I have sometimes showed previous jobs to future customers from the street which I did here. Really did not see a need to notify you when we were on a public street and not in your yard. I would have knocked if there was a need to step one foot on your property. Your house sits very close to the street. Take the serial # off the sash of the windows and call this company to honor their lifetime warranty on the window and installation (workmanship). New Ownership is in Baton Rouge, Louisiana somewhere. Legally, I had to give them all previous contracts. Our new company is far more superior in quality and installation than most in the Eastern, Pa. market, at a fair price. I continue to be a LOCAL and hands on owner. I apologize for the confusion.

I used this company at the end of last year when they were Window World. The salesman came in and gave us the windows demonstration that last about an hour and measured the windows. It took about 6-7 weeks for the windows to come in and get installed. The new bay window is a fantastic upgrade over the old bay window and the molding and casings look fantastic. The new living room windows also look great and are finished very nicely from the outside. I do wish, however, they had pulled the interior trim off and checked for insulation because there is a draft coming from one of the windows. The installers cleaned up very nicely after installation. Overall, it was a great experience and I would buy from them again.

Thanks for the great rating. On wooden windows the inside trim stays on and the frame is not disrupted unless requested by the customer (never has happened). Older homes sometimes do lack proper insulation in the walls that can get through the trim and into your home. Try caulking the area where the trim meets the wall which has nothing to do with the window installation. Thank you.

Window world has reasonable quality windows for an affordable price. There seems to be a lot of variability in window prices, as the companies mark them up 200 - 300%. Window world seems to have reasonable price margins/markups compared to other companies. They also have good quality windows, not the best, not crappy builder grade. I was happy overall with the installation too. The install was in Jan '11 and I felt bad for the installers b/c it was a harsh/cold winter. I had a 7 month old at the time, and the house in an old victorian with lots of lead, so safety was obviously a concern. The only major snafu we had was around handling of this lead paint, and it was ultimately resolved reasonably. The sales person (who was a real idiot) charged me a lead fee and told me that all windows would be installed from the exterior to avoid lead dust from spreading around the house. When the installers arrived, they told me they would install all windows from the inside and exterior installation was not an option. After haggling the main office over the course of a few phone calls, we ultimately arrived a compromise wherein the windows that are near the babies play and sleep areas would be handled from the outside, and the others from the inside, but cleaned carefully. I wasn't enthused about this compromise, but I wasn't totally turned off either. The installers themselves were super nice 2 man crew from Eastern Europe (Maldova).

The salesman try their best to give each homeowner an idea what to expect when the installation occurs. They should not make guarantees. When the installers arrived, for personal safety concerns, made the decision to operate from the inside. We apologize for the inconvenience, but on rare occasions, the installers have to make decisions based on their personal safety.

We called Window World to setup an appointment. The salesman came out to give us a demonstration, get measurements, estimate, etc. The presentation was short enough and he wasn't overbearing in any sense (it may've helped that we pretty much had our mind made up before he even got there). One thing that struck me was that the salesman said that it would be a good idea to test for lead paint because we might incur an extra cost if there was lead in the paint. He did two tests and decided that there was no lead in the paint. When he was filling out the estimate, he put down $20 for the lead paint test and said that the second test was "on us." Now, I don't know if it was an oversight on his part of not mentioning the price at the start or if it was intentional but I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt and just point out to any potential buyers to watch out for this. We setup an appointment and they came out as scheduled. The gentleman that did the work was very friendly and answered any questions I had honestly. The work took approximately 3 1/2 hours. He cleaned up after himself for the most part and was on his way. Overall, I am happy with the work they did and the aesthetic value that it adds to our home. One thing of note - The salesman had done a demonstration where heat or cold, when applied to one side of the window, could not be felt through the other side of the glass. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be true with the windows that were installed. I have noticed that our living room is warmer than it had been previously with the thermostat set to the same temperature but it hasn't completely shut out the cold.

Upgraded windows with lo-e/argon meet the government requirements for the energy tax credit. This upgrade will reduce the inside surface temperature depending on the season. The insulation (or lack of) in your walls, especially around the windows, could contribute to surface temperature. Double hung windows are two moving parts, hence not a fixed window that cannot be perfectly air tight. Air circulation can also play a roll in your home with surface temp.. Lead testing started April, 2010 by the EPA and we pass the added cost to the customer with no profit, vs. other companies that can charge hundreds of dollars more per window.

After contacting contacting Window World they came out within a few days to give a presentation and an estimate. Presentation was good, to the point and not too long. Estimate was reasonable. Took a few weeks for windows to arrive. The window installations went well. Staff was prompt and professional. A couple of weeks after installation there was a minor problem with capping. After contacting Window World, they came out to fix the problem approximately three weeks after it was reported. Took two calls to fix the problem, maybe because it was the beginning of winter and Window World was pretty busy. All in all, we had a positive experience with this company.

Their customer service was great. We were satisfied with the price. We actually had no complaints with Window World. However, when we went to order another set of windows, we wanted someone to come out and measure the windows once they installed another set of windows for us. We were told that the installers would measure the windows. In the past, there has always been someone else that has come out and done the measurement of the windows. Our ex-installers who measured the windows for our kitchen said that they don?t measure the windows and they just install them. So we felt like they didn?t want to take the time to measure the windows. I also felt like they didn?t want our business any more. Other than that, they provided good service. They were always on time. We wouldn?t use them again.
Description of Work: Window World replaced our windows and sliding doors this summer. We got one large window replaced in May, then another in June, and September. With a total 15 windows, one large casement, and a sliding glass door replacement.

The installers will measure if the office tells them to. When we arrived at your house, and you still wanted us to measure additional windows, calling the office would have been the best thing to do that same day. We in turn, would have called them to measure your additional windows. Sorry for the confusion.

It began with a visit from the salesman. He measured all the windows because the windows are made for your house. We waited six weeks for them to come in. They completed all the windows in two days. The process was they did one room at a time. Remove the old windows, prep the area, check for no wood rot, and then put in the replacement window. On the outside, they capped all the windows, chaulked, and cleaned up their mess.
Description of Work: We had 26 windows replaced. The Salesman was outstanding. I wish I could remember his name. We had 23 windows with the Argon gas and 3 window (the ones in the garage) without the gas. I have noticed a difference in our cooling and heating bills when compared the previous years. We were very happy with the whole experience. I liked the window lifetime guarentee. So (9,500-1,500 (tax credit)) 8,000 total plus the 80/month bills savings. Makes it worth the cost. Plus they are easy to clean!

The price advertised was $189.00 installed per window, but once he showed up there were several extra charges. There were charges for taking out the windows, removing blinds, green-friendly control, and several others. The total ended up being $400.43 per window, which was much higher than the price advertised. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Spoke with and apologized to the member for her issues. Window World advertises $189 installed all over the US. The member chose options (some customers want and others do not) for her windows that when added up were over $189 but at the end of the day, 40-50% off most competitors. She saved $20/window with another company and sacrificed quality for $20?? We are Good Housekeeping approved that speaks volumes about our quality. There are huge differences in quality of Vinyl Windows though they look the same. I cannot afford a larger ad to put every line item price someone may want. If I did this the customers price would go up with higher costs of advertising. We all know when buying a Pizza or a Car, options are always extra. Thanks, Rob Mato/President.

I contacted three contractors to estimate on this job. Window World had the best price per unit for a basic vinyl window. Their representative was pleasant and informative and didn't pressure me. Of their competitors, one showed me a sample that was far more elaborate and expensive than I needed and the other had no samples on the home visit, I would have to go to their showroom to chose. The windows were fabricated and ready to install before the four-week estimated deadline. They were installed in one day by two people who worked quietly, quickly and seemed very efficient. They were obviously well trained and/ or experienced. They were also polite and professional. The only glitch was that the installers forgot one of the replacement units, but with my permission, they returned the next morning and installed that last window in a very short time. They left the house, inside and out, very clean and there was no damage to plants. The windows and the frame casings look great. The windows all work very smoothly. I'm completely happy with the whole job.

Prior to deciding on Window World, I contacted three other companies to recieve quotes. One company gave us a very "high pressure" sales presentation in our home. The representative pressured us to sign a contract for about $30,000!! Outrageous!! The other quotes were both less than half of the first company. I finally decided on Window World because their pricing was very clear, there were no hidden fees, and it was reasonable. Additionally the representative from Window World was very detailed in his measurements of the windows and didn't mind all of my questions (and I had a lot of them). The installers were outstaning and professional from beginning to end. They not only did an excellent job installing the windows, but they also replaced all of the original trim on each window without breaking any of the wood. At the end of the day they also cleaned up after their work. I was very impressed and have no reservations about this company. I highly recommend them!

Window world was one of the few services willing to replace a single window, and their price was definitely lowest. However, because the job was so small and we're located in Philadelphia, they would need to schedule this job to coincide with another job in the area. Because of this, they said they'd *probably* be able to complete the job within 8 weeks and definitely within the next 3 months. We decided to go with We Care, in spite of a MUCH higher price ($1060 compared to $500) so that we could get the work done sooner and not have to worry about timing.

Good. While the windows were replaced, the contractors failed to remove the storm windows that I paid to remove and the scratched my hardwood floors that I just had varnished. There was also also dirty hand prints on the walls that were just painted and trash was left behind. When I called the owner (Rob) he listed and took of money for my troubles. He then sent men out to remove the storm windows and did not charge me. It was because of his response that I would continue to do work with this company again.
