They gave a quote; ordered the door, and within 3 weeks had the job completed. The two technicians were very professional and made sure the door was sealed properly. They even sealed around some pipes with caulking which was "above and beyond the call of duty."

The work itself was very well done. It started out a bit rocky though as Tom did not call to confirm the appointment as Joyce had said he would. I called him instead. Also, when he arrived, the order he had was incorrect (for rubber seal at the bottom of garage doors) and, therefore, the price I was quoted was also incorrect. Once this was discussed and a quote provided for the work we wanted, everything went smoothly. Tom called one of his workers who brought the weatherstripping and helped install and caulk. The old wood framing around the doors had to be removed first. After doing so, they prepared the surface for installation of the weatherstripping. At the same time, they did replace the bottom rubber seal as well. They cleaned up and swept the area and removed the trash. The weatherstripping is a huge improvement as it is no longer easy for critters and insects (plus cold air and dampness) to get into the garages when the doors are closed. I am very happy with the work.

They scheduled a person to come and give me a quote. I was not informed that there would be a service charge or that the person is a serviceman. The person came on time and informed me that he rather not do the work as the panel is of a size and construction that is hard to be repaired to my satisfaction and it would be better to buy a new door at 2.5x the cost of the repair. He then asked my to pay money for the "service call". I was unhappy that I am being asked to pay money after the fact without getting my consent about the service charge. They offered that the service charge could be waived if I buy a new door from them instead of repairing the door. Moreover, the work order has $0.00 in the invoice, and the person who came to my house crossed it out and wrote $55.00. The next day I called and talked to the service manager and the service manager did not agree that they need to let their clients know about a service charge. From her perspective, clients should expect to get charged when a service pairs comes to visit. I mentioned that on the previous interactions with their company I was informed about the service charge. I asked her if it is OK to write a negative a review on Angie's List and she was OK with that too.

Ordering and receiving the new door took a bit longer than I expected. When the door was received, the installation and cleanup were flawless.

All work was carefully and professionally done. Thomas Giel and his helper showed up right on time and did a great job. He even programmed my new outside keypad so it would operate my other older garage door opener as well as the new one -- very convenient. All scrap was taken away as well as the old broken garage door opener, and everything was cleaned up nicely.

Working this Thomas V. Giel has been a pleasure. We purchased garage door from them 2 years ago. Lance, our sales rep was very personable and knowledgeable on the products he quoted. We had such a good experience from Lance and the company that we purchased our front door from them too! The installers, Shawn and Justin were very knowledgeable. They both are very professional and arrived ontime (when they said they would). They cleaned up after themselves after the install. Everything came out looking great! VERY satisfied with their work and would definitely refer them to all my friends.

Harold was great. He evaluated the situation with my garage door, gave me 2 possible solutions and pricing, and immediately completed the work. He was neat, efficient, polite and thorough. Both doors were done in about 2 hours. He also informed me that the openers we have a some of the best and that our doors are in good shape - to hold on to both as long as we can because the quality of each is very high.

First, John visited and provided an estimate. He was very professional with no hard sell. His demeanor and description of the proposed job sold me. Had actual samples in his truck and spent a considerable time with me in helping with suggestions, e.g., door design and colors that fit the house exterior. I waited about 2.5 weeks for installation. Sean and Justin arrived on time and set up their "shop" in the garage. Worked for six hours. They removed the old doors and opener hardware. Worked like pros and did a fine job. I am very pleased with the results. Certainly has improved our house's curb appeal. The price is what I expected it to be, competitive with two other estimates I obtained. In the end it was John who sold me.

Very professional company with excellent service. Knowledgeable, friendly person answers the phone and scheduling was able to install my new opener in less than a week since I was having a problem with an existing opener opening the garage door on it's own. They also lubricated my garage door and replaced some missing cables at no extra charge. The new opener has a battery back up unit that was beeping after a few days of installation indicating the part was defective. I called them and they had someone to my home within an hour to replace the battery unit.

The crew was on time, and pointed out a few items that were included in the original quote that were not needed and resulted in some savings for me. They worked quickly, and had the new doors in place in less than 4 hours. The doors work flawlessly, and their energy efficiency is already apparent. My garages have low ceilings. They are a maximum of 7' from floor to ceiling. While Giel was not the lowest of the three bids that I received, they were the only contractor that offered to install the doors without adding additional spacers across the top of the opening, and further decreasing the entry height. For comparison, I priced the same garage doors with installation prices listed at Home Depot. Thomas V. Giel's price was lower. All in all, I am pleased with the quality of the workmanship and the product.

Excellent experience with Thomas Giel. The crew of 2 showed up on time and they were gone 2hrs later, after installing and adjusting the new garage door, putting new trim, connecting it to the opener and cleaning the interior of the garage. They were very professional and courteous. I have only positive things to say about Thomas Giel and their prices are excellent. Highly recommend.
