Description of Work: In 30 years, had never treated our trees, so they needed help. Soil samples taken. Norway maple: root collar excavation, removal of girdling roots, deep root fertilization, and growth retardant applied. White pine: Insecticide to stop adelgid, custom-blended fertilizer applied later. Pruning and care options for other trees on property discussed.

 + -1 moreThere were some problems but they corrected them. The landscaping work was really not that great. I wouldn't use them again for that. When I complained about it, they came back out and fixed it. Their punctuality was good. I wasn't clear on what they were really going to do. When I got back, I was surprised by that. We were able to resolve it. I appreciated them for taking responsibility.

 + -1 moreThey really did a good job. It was not cheap but I guess it was normal. They did a really good job with the trees. They were very prompt in getting here. I didn't have to wait long. In what I understand, they are all comparable in price because our neighbor has had work done. It's expensive but when they are getting up on ladders, it's a dangerous job. The quality of work was excellent.
Description of Work: They had to make the trees so that they are suitable for the street because cars were hitting them.

 + 2 moreThey are extremely responsive to my calls. My only complaint would be initiative and troubleshooting. I would like them spot the problems and call me first. They do what they say. They send me a contract every year. Since I've been using them, it has cut down on the small varmints. I have been using them for 24 years. I like gardening and when you have healthy trees and shrubs the gardening goes better. I am very satisfied with them.
Description of Work: Every year they treat the trees and shrubs. They fertilize all the trees and shrubs. They aerate the lawn. They do grub control. Inspection of all of the trees and shrubs.

 + -1 moreOne of the last times they were here, they sprayed the trees, they also sprayed my Oakleaf Hydrangea and killed it so I was not happy with that. I think they were pricey. When we first started using them, it was fairly reasonable but the price kept going up. They used to have a wonderful guy who had serviced our trees. He really took care of me. He lived in the area so he enjoyed looking at them when he went by but I think that after he left, the service was not as good, and I think they need to have people who are better trained.

 + -1 moreArborel did excellent work. A certified arborist came to my house and addressed all my concerns. He sent me a proposal which was very reasonably priced. After I accepted his bid, a work crew came to my house and exceeded my expectations. They performed all of the specified work expertly. Clean up was so good you would hardly know they were there! I would recommend Arborel very highly for all of your tree work.

 + -1 moreThey sent out an arborist who was on time (he actually called and asked if it was OK for him to arrive slightly early), knowledgeable, and friendly. Ultimately we decided to hold off on the work, but the interaction with the company was favorable.

 + -1 moreThey were on-time for the initial inspection as well as the day of service. The crew was great - friendly, professional and efficient. Two of the guys even helped me move some large items into a dumpster (we're also doing a home renovation). They arrived around 8:30am and finished around 3pm. All the work involved climbing up really tall trees, which was neat to watch. They cleaned up as they trimmed, including leaf-blowing the debris. All the trees look great are are well away from the house and power lines. The trees probably hadn't been trimmed in decades! All in all, had a great experience with Arborel.
Description of Work: Performed an inspection to gauge health of trees and recommend services. Everything looked healthy except for one ash tree, for which we choose to have it treated. We hired them to prune + trim 8 large trees on or adjacent to our property. They also installed a cable to protect a large walnut tree.

 + -1 moreI used Arborel Tree Service. They were here in the summer of 2013. It was about a thousand dollars. I would tell others they did a fair job. The tree removal and disposal was good but their stump grinding was not up to what I expected. They came in and took the trees down with no damage to mine or my neighbors property, they removed them, they cleaned up, the stump grinding was not sufficient. There was still stump left over that was covered up by a pile of dirt. The stump should have been ground down some more.

 + -1 moreTim was very professional, flexible, had great communication about the project and scheduled the work promptly. I haven't really had a lot of professional arboreal work done so I am not sure I can speak to how well the tree will look when its leaves return. I will try to update on my happiness with the project once the spring and summer arrives. I can say that as much as I hate cutting down any trees, it is nice to be rid of the walnut as it overhung our cars and made life difficult.

 + -1 moreI bought the $75 deal for an arborist to evaluate some trees. They couldn't get the arborist to my place within 3 weeks so I contacted Angies list and got a refund. ADVICE: Don't pay for an evaluation. There are many other companies around that will have an arborist do an evaluation for FREE.

It was quite apparent that Rob was very knowledgeable and truly interested in preserving the trees that worth saving. Very shortly, we will receive an estimate for suggested services. We do intend to purchase his services.
Description of Work: The owner of Arborel Tree Service arrived at our home promptly at the agreed upon time to assess several trees, bushes and lawn areas. He quickly diagnosed the reasons for their conditions.

 + 0 moreNo phone call. No show. My husband stayed home most of the day. What can I say? We're both too busy to chase down service providers. If Arborel can't pick up the phone in 2 weeks to confirm or cancel, then they can't get the job. But we're left with a few weeks to find someone else. It's very frustrating.
Description of Work: Arborel has a very good reputation for tree service. We had them out last year to discuss old spruce trees that had lost their lower branches. We liked the person who came out and wanted to have them evaluate our new landscaping trees. We booked a 1-hour tree evaluation with them through Angie's List. We booked it on Oct. 10 and asked for Oct. 23. It was the only day we had available until mid-November due to our work and travel schedules.
